  1. I have just offically handed out candy for the first time from my own house!!!
Happy Halloween to all of you!

  2. Really good celebration, teach kids to extort people for free stuff. Fits right in with today’s culture.

  3. Between the nervous Neelies & their Marxist cohorts, have not only destroyed the playground ,but killed Halloween.
Now they even want competition out of sports, least anyone lose self esteem. Like you can live on that eh?
Like Ive always said. Between Islam & Marxism their can be no humanity or human actions from these hate filled people. Jokes or fun are not allowed. Only ponderous speeches denouncing all regular people do. Just listen to Obama. A kill joy if their ever was one.
Add into the mix the eugenics & ZPG folks who hate children, this is what is now served up. Tight ass-ed morons with no humor but plenty of rage.

  4. Rev, exactly.
No doubt a grey jacket or smock and holding a little red book would be acceptable.

  5. Teach kids to extort free stuff, then wonder why there are so many socialists. You’re helping make them.

  6. redsuit, was there a hollowed out lit pumpkin on your doorstep, thought to ward off evil spirits, a fine concept? The little ones up to age 12 say would get a kick out of neighborhoods so lit up with all shapes and sizes. Then moms and dads could make the pumpkin desserts, not wasting the nutritional benefits. Dark chocolates mitocondrial benefits are now at the fore of being thought to maintain healthy muscles and all.
The tradition of ‘all Souls night’ where we remember the ancestors throughout the ages are represented in the ‘candy’ (sweet delights) another form of a shared family meal.
Family fun is what it’s all about and past traditions can be resurrected in the halloween date. Wonder if the skeleton costume will make a comeback where one bone is connected to another bone and kids and adults can dance around in their bones…

  7. No kids tonight and it’s been like that for years. I live on a fairly main drag so I suspect that’s a reason. Another factor could be the little kids now visit the malls and run into all the stores. That’s almost cheating. Nothing cuter though than little kids dressed up and all excited. The parents? Not so much.

  8. A couple Edmonton elementary schools issued the edict – no scary costumes.
Apparently the sissies being raised can’t tell fantasy from reality. We aren’t sure how they will react when life intervenes with something truly scary.

  9. fiddle, there is no element of coercion in handing out Halloween treats.
Whoever taught you your definition of socialist extortion failed you.
We’re conservative here and Halloween is part of our cultural tradition so we support it.
Best part of Halloween is that the tradition is spreading globally just because people like the idea of it.
Happy Halloween to SDA and all the little costumed Hallowed Weenies!

  10. Wow, fiddle is hardcore. Christmas is what we need to abolish next. And pets. And warm blankets. And lemonade. And no running your sticks along the rails, your ungrateful little b@stards. (And who gave you sticks?)
Also, I don’t get the joke. I have seen The Boys from Brazil.

  11. No coercion? You’ve heard of trick or treat? The gangsters had a similar protection racket.

  12. Yes Fiddle 4 year olds are coercing at gun point or threat of dirty diaper drop off of our local elderly for a yearly hit of smarties and lolly pops…… They are responsible for socialism run amok for sure.

  13. Halloween if FUN for the kids!
So of course to the humorless left this is a no-no.
Perhaps if all the boys dressed like girls and the girls as boys, then they’d approve.
Love to see the little ones – all dressed up and enjoying themselves.
Lots of neighbours meet and greet each other on this night as well.

  14. Halloween if FUN for the kids!
Yes, always fun to get something for nothing. The left think it’s fun, anyway…

  15. I have steadily increased the Halloween display at my house over the last 25 years, with the patient approval of neighbours and the support of my children. You can take the boy out of the lighting director gig, but you can’t take the lighting director gig out of the boy. Our neighbourhood grade schools suffered an administration-induced banning of scary costumes, to an overwhelming trouncing in the opinion columns. I kept my display gory (vampire Santa, etc) and let the neighbours know that other cultures could accomodate us for a change.
