Incredible news……..I am a huge fan of Major League Baseball, but my Sunday evenings have been off the calendar, since Herr Olberwad has been on that broadcast crew. Couldn’t stand the sight or sound of that decrepit, evil, vile bag of skin.

Kate is right. It’s ridiculous that he was suspended for this. The donations don’t matter. No one who watches his show for more than 10 minutes can have any doubt about where the man stands.

I partly agree with bear, the donation was not illegal. BUT the employer hs a stated policy, ie: condition of employment that donations/support are not to be made.

Colin@mission – no that’s just it, even if it’s in the contract it’s a breech of his rights. The “no donations” rule serves only to hide party biases instead of exposing them. More or less the “rule” allows people to donate their time to the cause without having to declare the conflict of interest. Ober what’s his name – his biggest offense isn’t the donation, it’s the failure to disclose the donation.
His biggest offense was to draw a near immeasurably small audience on election night.

As I said, it’s a simple matter of contract. Olbermann breached his contract. No one put a gun to his head to work at MSNBC. He freely entered into an employment contract with a no-donations clause. If there is such a thing as a right to make a political donation, he freely and willingly waived it.
