One of the police spokesmen said “there was no posted trespassing”, so technically the protestors were still within the law (I’m paraphrasing..) – if the single person in the house (the 14 year old) had come outside, and told the protestors to get off the property, would the police have moved in at that point to get them off the property, as he’s not the owner of the property?
I have my doubts.

So, what I want to know, is why didn’t the DC police let the Maryland police know this mob was coming way before they did? Why did they inform them just as the 14 buses were crossing the state line?
This doesn’t make sense to me, unless the DC police wanted to spare the Maryland cops’ having to respond much more quickly than they did. Their thinking might have been “let’s give the demonstrators their ‘few minutes in the sun,’ so they can’t say we broke them up before they’d had a chance to make their point.”
If this was the case — and I’m hard pressed to try to figure out how come it took the DC cops so long to inform their Maryland counterparts what was coming their way — then, I’m having less and less confidence in the notion that the police are in place to protect peaceful, law-abiding citizens from the mob.
‘Seems like the mob’s winning. ‘Seems like the barbarians aren’t only at the gates but inside the citadel, under the protection of law enforcement officers.
So, who protects the law-abiding citizens? ‘Methinks tis time to get back to Church and pray!

They escorted them and everyone knows it. Sheena Easton lives across the street from the banker and she was terrified. She , herself, after speaking publically about it on Fox, is being harrassed for speaking out. These people are nothing but thugs and get their marching orders from the union who backs the administration. This is Chicago community organizing at it’s best. It is what they have always done and will continue to do because it works and no one will do anything about it. Megan Kelly is the best thing on television. Honestly though, I can’t believe how much the tenor of society has changed in just the past 2 years. I never thought I would see high officials using labor unions as some sort of paramilitary type security/muscle (e.g. the town hall meetings with union thugs), with the civil authorities playing right along. It’s fundamentally un-American. A few years back, when gas prices spiked over $4 a gallon, I joked with a friend that big business executives better watch out or they might wind up getting “the Romanov treatment”. Now I fear things like that literally happening, and with help from the state no less.
One of the common threads of authoritarian regimes throughout history, especially nascent ones, is that they form private or party-based paramilitary units loyal to individual personalities (e.g. the SS). During the campaign Obama did speak mightily of wanting to create new security forces equal in power and funding to the military, and he wouldn’t be the first in history to use labor unions as a recruiting ground either. Ex-cons seem like a fitting choice too.

If things get worse with the economy I expect the visits will be more common, more targeted and waaay more violent than what we saw here. It’s just how things will happen and you can’t blame people for being mad as hell.
