    to wrap yer head around that you IGNORE the mathematics and concentrate on the *core concept*
    and we find out for instance ‘gender’ is NOT according to the configuration of the genes but rather
    a popular whim.
    and everything else comes out of that new understanding.
    some old rules still apply, herd mentality, the workings of propaganda, they still apply.
    l left the academic environment when my part mastiff sired puppies.
    that was 2022, l burned down THAT bridge since l had a well timed opportunity.
    gawd it felt good. l felt betrayed then l felt a great satisfaction.

    ah, and again, whats to become of the credits earned by the students at cambridge under arday’s tutilage?

    Done. Because as a 70yo human … I’ve come to a fairly deep understanding of human nature and what human nature tells me about those who take their own lives.

  3. This is a direct consequence of the erosion of objective truth by postmodern philosophy. Individual belief matters more than objective reality. That is why Arday could prosper – because he told a better whopper and it meshed with what DEI ideologically driven professors wanted to hear. The more outrageous, the better because it fed their narrative.

    When reality hit, the objective truth was revealed and the many falsehoods revealed, Arday died. Reality is a harsh mistress and hates to be ignored.

  6. Here’s my take home point on Jason Arday. For weeks the media got right behind him until it was inconvenient. NOW, they won’t even pick up his memoir (work of fiction) and clarify their mistake. It was released last week. How many of the major media outlets have mentioned it?

    The NYT’s did an article that still patronizes him. Ironically, the only outlet I’ve seen that ripped him a new one was The Atlantic. Somehow they had a copy on Aug. 6th. They were not kind. They were professional about it. But, not kind.

    The institutions will have to ameliorate their examinations in the future that will make it easier for conduct like this to pass.
    It’s happening in the primary and secondary schools as you read this. Probably @ the universities the same.
    It is apparent with the graduates of so called ‘social studies’. These subjects are so uncertain and so subject to varied and acceptable bullshit that it is impossible to trust anything that comes out of them. One must add that it is questionable at the best of times.
    As opposed for actual real subjects like engineering, you can’t fake it, that is not to say that some have not tried, though the core of mathematics and physics is very difficult to fake.

    Your agent here, of course have no standing in pointing anything about anything. not being an academic. Many may say, why don’t you just shut up and let the wise talk.

    As for the faker, no sympathy found.
    Just thinking.

  8. I’d reflect but I have already reached the conclusions that most sociologist are scammers, most arts faculties are sinecures for scammers and the media lies constantly.

  9. When did mental illness become some sort of bizarre flex, by the way? Everyone and their cat claims autism nowadays, it’s really weird, right?

    1. Great question. Usually, mental illness (depression, anxiety, etc) is something people hate having and work to resolve it. Overcome whatever it is that’s bothering or challenging them and then doing their best to “not go back there”.

      These days, buzzword bullspit like “neuro-divergence” and “I think I might be on ‘the spectrum'” are increasingly popular like it’s something to be celebrated. But people also celebrate and canonize their (real or perceived) mental illnesses like depression and act holier than though because they’re going through something.

      Get over yourselves progs , you’re not brave or special, it’s nothing to be proud of or wear like a badge. You deal with it, get through it, move on, and stay or get productive and contributing again.

        It’s easy to spot the poseurs, they’re the ones out with their ‘autistic’ friends having parties and all their outfits are super fashionable.

    2. It’s an easy, non-falsifiable way of getting sympathy, attention, and exemption from the expectations of basic social behaviour. Until people start saying “you’re not autistic, you’re just a lazy and rude attention whore” this will continue.

    If a “Professor of Sociology” kills himself over the perfectly normal and natural reaction of society toward his lies,was he a successful graduate?
    Or did this reflect his utter failure to comprehend the subject in which he obtained his credentials?

    Now my own conclusion is that “sociology” is not a science at all,more of a whisper circle than critical thinking..based on the educated but idiot characters who have crossed my path..
    However a true student of human nature,would not be surprised nor appalled by how mean and nasty we can be..
    Nor would they allow such delusions (as this poor failure expressed) to end their life..
    On reflection?
    The human race is no poorer because of that poor fools suicide..
    So Sad.
    Too bad.

    1. My conclusion is that his suicide was the defining act of his existence. It is all he will be remembered for. Sad.

  14. That #LittleJason would even rate a mention in Nature, much less a sycophantic editorial, indicates the depths to which the media covering science has fallen. Nature joins Scientific American, the Lancet, JAMA and a host of others in the bargain-basement fish wrapping section. All propaganda, all the time.

    If I want to know what’s up in physics I watch Sabine Hossenfelder. She’s cranky and autistic enough to not give a rat’s whatsit what anybody else says. Example her videos have a “Bullsh1t Meter” which recently went to 11 out of 10 on one subject.

  15. Just a point on the autism claim. Since “autism” is now considered disease with a broad specturm, from village idiot to astrophysical genius, then, as we all exist somewhere on this spectrum, this is a non-disease AKA scam.

      No, it’s a real thing. People really do have Asperger’s, autism, whatever you want to call it. Yes, it comes in severity from “passes for normal” to “wears a hockey helmet in church.”

      The problem is that there’s a whole industry providing support for people with ‘autism’, meaning whoever they can possibly fit into the category. So lately -everybody- has ‘autism’ of some flavor or other.

      Meaning of course that the kids who really do only ‘pass for normal’ are getting kicked out of their own category by poseurs and the mis-diagnosed. Like #JasonArday.

      Side note, actual autism is genetic, and not a disease. Found most often in European Jews and your blonde/redhead Viking stock from the Northlands. Black people and Asians don’t generally have autism, unless they have Norse/Scots or European Jewish ancestors. There’s some speculation that Neanderthal gene-lines are involved. Given their archaeological record, Neanderthals would behave in a pretty autistic sort of way. Modern humans would definitely think they were weird.
