  1. And what are the latte crowd doing today?
Did you know that Mia Farrow has ended her 12 day hunger strike to show solidarity with the people of Darfur in the Sudan and over the Sudan’s decision to expel foreign aid workers?
Do you know the result of Ms Farrow’s hunger strike? I mean, for the people of Darfur. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
But that’s what the latte crowd does. You see, the latte crowd ignores that, because they have a choice, those who do not have a choice live in a different reality and are totally unaffected by what the latte crowd does.

  2. That Rex – just so damn practical !! Cuts through the BS. Not what the warmongers want us to see. I bet he has had some threats from very “prominent” people. Bet Kate has too.

  3. Through Syncrodoz’s blog I found this Corner of Hate. And much of it is directed at Kate. Strange, isn’t it, how someone who professes to be “progressive” and “compassionate” spends so much of his time lurking around over here, seething in hatred with every word he reads. Probably interrupted only when mommy screams out one of three words to the basement: “Breakfast”, “Lunch”, or “Dinner”!

  4. Kate, now that a Democrat is in the White House you need to update your recession watch posts to the happy-happy joy-joy economy posts.

  5. I was curious to read the full lyrics of the infamous Rolling Stones song:
She would never say where she came from
Yesterday don’t matter if its gone
    While the sun is bright
    Or in the darkest night
    No one knows
    She comes and goes
    Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
    Still I’m gonna miss you…
Don’t question why she needs to be so free
Shell tell you its the only way to be
    She just cant be chained
To a life where nothings gained
    And nothings lost
    At such a cost
There’s no time to lose, I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
    Dying all the time
    Lose your dreams
And you will lose your mind.
    Ain’t life unkind?
    Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
    Still I’m gonna miss you…

  6. Hodge Re the star & buy canada policy
This is exactly what we Dont want is Protectionist’s policies & that’s what the O’ wants, Can you imagine what would happen to the amount of trade that flows between the Canada/US alone!.
The PM has spoken out on this, realizing that protectionist policies in a time of global recession would only further the problem and delay recoveries.
Many local govt’s Ie city councils have already started this trend & have adopted policies to buy strictly Canadian & that could prove to be detrimental in the long run.
Now here is my question to that part, If city councils are so concerned about strictly canadian then Why were they Not adopting that policy Before this Global Recession occured? The reason because they were looking for the Best Price(in most cases,Toronto not incl.) such as you would do as a consumer.

  7. Kate, a Juxtapose from the Hodge link ?
Before the election, I remember a sda post on Obama’s protectionist tendencies that would nail Canada. Of course, our beloved media sat on it.
[As reported by the Star’s Les Whittington, the recently installed piping for a new health centre at a military base in California was actually ripped out of the ground when it was discovered that it was made in Canada. Meanwhile, a manufacturer of pumps who has been selling into the American market for more than three decades finds that, for the first time, he is being required to certify that his products are “made in the U.S.A.” As a result, he may have to shift some of his production south of the border.]

  10. For Goreacle, aka manbearpig.
    …-
“The “precarious state of the U.S. polar bear population”
    9 05 2009
Today’s MSM is woefully inept at catching mistakes.Worse, reporters are often woefully inadequate at getting facts straight in the first place. And, with instant electronic distribution, it is much like a Roman vomitorium. Eat, regurgitate, repeat, rinse.
Yesterday’s LA Times story on the Obama administration deciding not to use polar bears as a global warming tool that we covered on WUWT had this whopper of a mistake:
“…the precarious state of the U.S. polar bear population…”.
It seems many other news outlets were content to pickup and regurgitate this story. A Google search on the phrase yields 283 results (as of 9AM today) and some big name media names are attached, like the Chicago Tribune.”

  11. Let’s take conspiracy theories to ridiculous heights: Maybe the Liberals got Ruby Dhalla on the front pages of our newspapers to take away from Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s surprise visit to Af’stan. You know? Even though they probably didn’t know he was going to Afghanistan, they made sure to minimize Canadians’ exposure to PM Stephen Harper’s concern for our men and women in the military …
We’re not hearing much from the MSM about this trip, I guess because it puts our Prime Minister in a good light. Their tactic at all times is to make PMSH and his party look bad and the Librano$, their party of preference, look good.
Once you’ve figured this out, it’s not hard to read between the lines to the real story.

  12. And, irony of ironies, one of the first things PMSH did when he arrived in Afghanistan was to board a Canadian Forces helicopter to fly to the Arghandab Valley 37 kilometres northeast of Kandahar city to view the Dahla dam project.
We know which Dhalla/Dahla the Canadian MSM find more fascinating.

  13. Or, I believe it was an old Kenny Rogers song
    Oh Ruby,
Don’t take your slaves to town.

Yesterday I heard something interesting on Dennis Miller’s show, which I think you’ll all !

  15. bryanr, you didn’t miss much. Rain came and everybody packed it in by about 1:30. Still, some nice cars and a REALLY nice late 30’s early 40’s Dodge truck. Talking to the guy was quite an education. Turns out you can get new tubes, tires and etc. for split-rim wheels in Dunnville. Quality Tire. Who knew?
I’ll put that Owen Sound car show on the calendar. Sounds kewl!

  17. Mr. Waverly is clearly the villain; he’s SMOKING!
Hey, Cal2, everyone in Texas is unionized except teachers.

  18. Slightly off topic:
Whats with the references to Tuesday?
    -Band called Till Tuesday
    -Stones tune..Ruby Tuesday
    -Moody blues…Tuesday Afternoon
I KNOW there is some profound significance to this phenomemnon.
I’ll go on a hunger strike like Mia untill this is resolved. Hopefully not too long…..
