  1. Good question, Justthinking, even though it was rhetorical, in the long hard slog through the Afghanistan and Iraq wars to date I can’t think of one, one mind you, in country expose by the MSM with any depth or value. Zero interest in who are these people beyond the abstract. Zero interest in understanding the players in this drama. Zero interests in putting these countries in a proper historic/strategic context. Hating Bush and blacking out all information was the best that the partisan and talentless nitwits in the MSM could do.
Then, of course, it takes talent, curiosity and bravery to be a Michael Yon. After the brief and safe “embedded” period at the very beginning, your garden variety MSM journo called it quits. I’d love to know the hotel bar tabs these wimps ran up.
Too bad it had to be the banks in this meltdown, the media industry has been peddling sub-prime garbage for decades. As the credit crunch spreads, here’s hoping the NYT’s, CNN, CBC, MSNBC and some of the others go belly up. Why should such a useless product be left standing.

  2. Well penny. I don’t know about in the US,but up here,if you kiss the right butts, you get a cushy appointment and at least a 70G pension for life.Integrity,honesty,loyalty?. The MSM lost that a loooong time ago. Now it’s just partisan politics. Does the big “O” have to claim CNN,NBC,etc as a campaign contribution??

  3. My mother in-law is visiting where she was born and spent most of her life,Italy, for a month. She recently phoned to check on things and asked my wife if we had heard about the terrorists arrested and deplaned on a KLM flight from Italy to somewhere in Europe.I have not had a chance to speak with her to verify this, has anyone else heard of this?I just don’t trust the media to report anything newsworthy anymore.
