  1. Why problems in the middle east will never be solved:
“Translated from Arabic, Hezbollah means either “Goat-Enthusiast” or “Goat-Lover” considering the scholar you ask.”
“Either way, they have sex with goats. That’s pretty much their whole day: plotting to kill Jews and hot, steamy goat sex.”
According to some former peacekeepers I know who wpent time in the Golan Heights, the latter statement is not too far off the mark.

  2. Just a thought, the foreign country with the most passport carrying Canadians, Lebanon. Fifty thousand approximately that this country will try to evacuate. So I have a question; Why are there so many citizens in a country of a population of only 3 million?

  3. And how long do these “Canadians” spend in Lebanon in an average year? Where is their permanent residence? Any chance they come to Canada when they get sick and then go home?

  4. Unbelievable that there are more Canadian “citizens” in Lebanon than persons in Lebanon who are citizens of any other country in the world, including the US (ten times Canada’s population) and France (former colonial master in Lebanon). Makes you wonder if the security service shouldn’t be interviewing every one that is brought home by the “repatriation” effort.

  5. Here’s a slap in the face to the Liberals and their enablers in the Canadian media.
    http://westernstandard.blogs.com/shotgun/2006/07/another_perspec.html
Statement by Six Canadian Lebanese Organizations and Clubs
Mississauga, Ontario — July 19, 2006 — We, the undersigned, representatives of the six Canadian Lebanese organizations that are listed below, extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Canadian government, represented by Prime Minister Mr. Stephen Harper and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Peter MacKay, for the correct, just and prompt positions they have taken with regard to Lebanon and the unfortunate military confrontations that are occurring on its soil as a result of the reckless hostile actions of the Hezbollah group that violate the will of the Lebanese people and the decisions and authority of the legitimate government of Lebanon. The actions and conduct of Hezbollah are extremely harmful to the interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese people, and obstruct progress of the peace process in Lebanon specifically, and in the Middle East in general…

  6. That was good research TimR. The media is giving the Conservative Gov’t. a hard time about these ‘50,000’ Canadians in Lebanon. How do they get these numbers. I’ll bet these Canadian Lebanese Orginizations don’t get any mention in the MSM.

  7. How many of the up to 50,000 Canadian citizens(20,000 estimated to be permanent residents)in Lebanon are members of Hezbollah? Wouldn’t holding a Canadian, USA, UK passport be a great safety valve and good way to entangle other countries in the conflict? I do not expect the MSM will ever get around to asking these types of questions anytime soon!

  8. About these hezbo. nymphomaniacs, I know women don’t mean much, so does this mean that goats are also considered more valuable?

  9. Don’t forget about the “Khadr’s” that supported the murdering of Jews and wiping Israel off the map, below is a item from a Islamic website and it exploits the death of the Canadians in Lebanon.
It also distorts the press conference on CVT’s video archive where Montreal Muslims praised Hezbullah and made a veiled threat to Canada for supporting Israel.
This Islamic site hints that Muslims in canada must view Canada as being at war with Islam, note the CAF site threat to Harper that 800,000 Arabs in canada will punish his Party for letting Israel murder Muslim Canadians.
    http://www.islamonline.net/English/News/2006-07/18/04.shtml
Muslim groups in Canada have done this before, thus the overt display and animations for the camera so external Islamic sites can promote Jihad agaisnt canada and fill our Muslim youths with hate.

  10. Been wondering about that whole 50,000 Canadians thing, too, particularly when there are half as many Americans in the country. Also noted that the Canadian family members killed the other day were in a village notable as a hotbed of Hezbollah support. What was drawing Israeli fire in the first place?
AS for the whole goat thing. Not only the Jews, other Arabs have always thought little of the Palestinians, deemed a bunch of low-caste hick goatherds (shepherds and goatherds always had a bad rap – it’s why the angels deliver the good news to the shepherds, to show that the lowliest of the low could receive God’s grace, but that’s another story) The Egyptians, Syrians Jordanians were only too happy to lose them to the Israelis, and they sure as hell don’t want them back – and, as we know, the Lebanese were’t to happy when Arafat and Co. were dumped on them and ruined their nice country. And now they have Hezbollah, too, and instead of Lebanese-Canadians marching and protesting PM Harper’s support of Israel, these ingrates should be down on their frigging knees in gratitude for someone finally having the balls to get rid of the terrorists who are stinking up their homeland.

  11. what is the age of consent for a Dutch goat??
wooden shoes, wooden head , wouldnt listen.
about sums it for the dutch.

  12. A partial explanation of the sizable Lebanese Canadian community:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebanese-Canadian
    Lebanese-Canadian
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Jump to: navigation, search
The are some 143,000 Lebanese-Canadians, making them by far the largest group of Arab-Canadians.
Lebanese immigration began in 1882, because of situations within Lebanon and restrictive Canadian laws these immigrants were 90% percent Christian. These immigrants were mostly economic migrants seeking greater prosperity in the New World. In more recent years this pattern has changed, and large numbers of Lebanese Muslims and Druze have come to Canada. Immigration laws were liberalized after the Second World War, and immigration steadily increased in the 1950s and 1960s. The greatest influx of Lebanese was during the Lebanese Civil War, and this period saw a number of Lebanon’s wealthiest and best educated move to Canada to flee the violence in their homeland. Canada was the only western country (besides Australia) to set up special programs to enable Lebanese to more easily come to Canada and it set up an office in Cyprus to process Lebanese refugees.
Many Lebanese speak French and unlike most other immigrant groups preferred to settle in francophone Montreal than anglophone Toronto. About half the Lebanese-Canadian community is located in and around Montreal, and most Lebanese-Canadian organizations, especially religious ones, are based in that city. There are substantial Lebanese populations in Toronto and Halifax, and Lebanese-Canadians are one of the largest ethnic groups in Ottawa.

    * Mac Harb, politician
    * Mark Assad, politician
    * René Angélil, singer, manager and husband of Céline Dion
    * Pierre DeBané, Senator

    * John Asfour, ex president of Canadian Arab Federation, poete and writer
    * K’Maro, singer

  13. Good research, Ace. Now tell me how many of the group you listed are in Southern Lebanon right now.

  14. I thought he answered the question. It is 40,000 – 50,000 “Canadians” in Lebanon. They are only “canadian” when their ass needs saving.

  15. Which word in this headline betrays the anti-Israel, anti-semitic viewpoint of the The Sun and the writer?
Yes. it’s the word “blitz”, as in blitzkrieg, used to describe lightning war, total war of the German Nazis in WW II.
Thus, the writer implies that the Israelis are using Nazi tactics. The Israelis are not targeting civilians.
A smear technique used by some of the MSM.
Stand with Israel as they attack Hezbollah, the Muslim Islamist terrorists. …-

  16. So most of the Lebanese are in Quebec.
‘splains the culture of entitlement and complaint. they have been well taught.
Could the good citizens of Caledonia expect to be rescued or are they too busy paying Canadian taxes?

  17. the 50,000 thing is weird.
passports of convenience, citizens of convenience.
Maybe the Health Care line-ups should add “recent time out of country” to the actual wait times so these citizens of conveneience are inconvenienced a bit.
The boats will take them to Cypress . . . they should pay after that.

  18. …Harper will pay a Political Price as being reported on CTV.Ca ….
So do we never critizize or make comments to stife in the world, PM Harper has stated the views of most world leaders, Hezzbolah is an organization with one goal the destruction of Israel…
What have we become? A country of lefty appeasers that are afraid to offend..
What if we had never stood up to strife in the 40’s & 50’s where would we be today?
Good for Prime Minister Harper. Bill Graham maybe you should go & read the book about your Mentor P.E.Trudeau, yes he is the one that created the mess that we face in the future of this country..
Finally we have a leader that is not afraid to offend..
I believe P.M. Harper is emerging as a world leader.

  19. No to Syria, Iran agents
    By Ahmed Al-Jarallah
    Editor-in-Chief, the Arab Times
PEOPLE of Arab countries, especially the Lebanese and Palestinians, have been held hostage for a long time in the name of “resisting Israel.” Arab governments have been caught between political obligations and public opinion leading to more corruption in politics and economics. Forgetting the interests of their own countries the Hamas Movement and Hezbollah have gone to the extent of representing the interests of Iran and Syrian in their countries. These organizations have become the representatives of Syria and Iran without worrying about the consequences of their action. …-
The writer, an Arab muslim, summarizes his article here:
“Unfortunately we must admit that in such a war the only way to get rid of “these irregular phenomena” is what Israel is doing. The operations of Israel in Gaza and Lebanon are in the interest of people of Arab countries and the international community.” …-

  20. Hopefully the blog research as regards the total situation will continue to come up for discussion.
The immigration/refugee laws/policies/procedures of the Liberals continue to haunt this country. The facts remain very obscure because of the slant taken by the MSM – interview only those whose have done nothing but denigrate the Harper gov’t for not caring and being to slow. In MSM
print we read how Hezbollah is seen as a “protector”. How many Canadian dollars are going overseas to support this terrorist organization.
This 40K-50K of Canadians who are apparently being boat/air lifted out at government expense has to raise a whole lot of questions and hopefully result in some significant changes in policy.
Why are only about 25K registered with the Canadian Embassy in Lebanon and how many of these 40K are “entitled” to the boat/air lift.
How many of these 40K cast votes in a federal election in Canada.
What are the benefits of dual citizenship for them, assuming that they are legal in the first place – like helath care, dental care, old age pensions, welfare cheques, local rates for education, citizenship-of-convenience for their children, minority power via the French connection, Heritage funding, etc.
Dual citizenship must end. It has been nothing but a vote-getting machine for the Liberals and in this case, a means of bolstering the French population in Canada to maintain minority control of the Federal agenda.

  21. “Dual citizenship must end. It has been nothing but a vote-getting machine for the Liberals and in this case, a means of bolstering the French population in Canada to maintain minority control of the Federal agenda.”
So it’s not about the situation in Lebanon at all really. It’s all about them nasty Liberals and them “Frenchies” in Ottawa, isn’t it?
Oh, brother. And you wonder why Dr Dawg has such a fine time with some of the posters here…

  22. And as for all those deadbeat Lebanese-Canadians, the Lebanese community in Canada is hard-working and business-savvy (as well as largely Maronite Christian).
I’m willing to bet Paul Anka and René Angélil alone have generated more tax revenue for Canada than most us ever will.

  23. There is no way that most the “Canadians” in Lebanon are “accidental tourists”. I’m sure the vast majority spend more time there than in Canada (or at least as much time). We don’t owe them a free ride back to here. Most of them are “home” when they are in Lebanon. Make them pay.

  24. WHAT!!! WHAT!!!!
    Ace,
How could you forget the most prominent Canadian to be born in Beirut, Lebanon?
Yes Ace, that’s right. You forgot Keanu Reeves.
    LOL!!! Heh.

  25. Cut all three levels of government spending by one third immediately and reduce taxes.
End dual citizenship and all special rights based on race, ethnicity or sex,… including Indians.
No tax money what so ever, for any identity politics period.
So the Pan Canadaian islamic Centre for the Arts gets zero.
The Chinese Canadian Settlement Fund gets zero.
The Turkish Businessmens Association of Canada gets exactly nada.
End multiculturalism and official bilingualism, immediately.
All the government “employees” (snerk) that “earn” (snork) their livelyhood in this capacity are fired.
50,000 Lebanese who expect to be jetted out of their zero taxed hell hole summer homes when their physcotic protectors open upa can of Israeli whoopass is bullshit.
Hope that these hezbola lovin pussies enjoy the rest of their summer with no more messy evacuations funded by real Canadian schmoes who actually PAY taxes.
    Are we insane?
How many of these 50,000 have ever paid tax in Canada.
How many have had a medical procedure paid for by you and me?
How many collect other Canadian benefits.
    How many vote liberal?
    How many support Hezbola.
This reeks, when will the MSM notice ?
Same as always, only if it can be turned into a Gotcha moment against our duly elected Priminister by the liberally stupid MSM.

  26. Can we make Rene pay now for Sphengallying a Celine Dion Diva out of one of our french hillbillys ?
    The world blames Canada!
It’s time to make Rene pay!

  27. Islamist Muslim terrorists, including Hezbollah, within Canada; plotting your death and destruction. …-
Weapons and Jihad Manuals Found in Canadian’s Home
Guns, jihad books found in Ottawa home of accused terrorist. (Hat tip: WriterMom.)
Police discovered guns, ammunition, electrical components and books on terrorism and jihad during a raid on the Ottawa home of accused terrorist Momin Khawaja, a British court was told Tuesday.
The prosecution evidence emerged at the London trial of seven British men charged with conspiring to bomb sites in and around London, including nightclubs, trains and a major shopping centre.
British authorities allege Khawaja, 27, played a “vital role” in the suspected plot by making remote-controlled detonators to be used to explode bombs constructed from 600 kilograms of ammonium nitrate fertilizer the group allegedly acquired.
Though he is named as a conspirator in the case, Khawaja has not been charged by British authorities with any crime. Instead, he is to stand trial in Ottawa in January as the first person charged under Canada’s Anti-terrorism Act.

  28. If there are 143,000 Canadian Lebannese and 30,000 plus 5,000 tourists [funny I would not have picked Lebannon as a tourist location, perhaps more Lebannese?]then over 20% of those “new” Canadians are back where they came from?
People come to Canada in search of a better life!
We have to live here with “landed” status for a number of years before we can apply to become Canadian.
For all the Canadian Canadians you probably do not know how great this country is as you do not have a reference country!
If you left your country of origin to come here for a better life you do not go back!
There is something going on here!

Yet you were not as much of a war zone as the DMZ in Korea, were the threat of war is marked by nightly curfew and patrols and no threat could raise the peoples alertness any higher. So the Question is, before this all started, how ready for it were you? To what extent did you expect such an attack from the north?
There is no DMZ but there is an electronic fence which runs the length of the border. There are also constant patrols, day and night, along the fence.
The current conflict began when Hizbollah blew up two Army vehicles making this patrol, killing 8 Israeli soldiers, and kidnapped two others, dragging them back through a hole it blew in the fence.
At the same time, it opened fire on a number of communities along the northern border.

  30. “There is something going on here!”
Yeah, it’s your tax dollars funding welfare payments to foreigners who have returned to their home country who just happen to have been in Canada long enough to obtain a Liberal supplied Canadian passport as compensation for their vote.
They are Liberal alright. Liberal with your money.

  31. Yes,… according to dual citizenship lovin, ad-hominem attackin, status quo enthusiast, Dr Dawg worshipping, JJM, I’m insane.
    Agreed, but,…
Are we (Canadians)insane for letting the likes of Jack Layton, Craig Oliver, Keith Boag, and Larry Zolf frame our political discussions in this country.
Thank you Kate, and thank you bloggers and commenters for shifting the political focus of Canadians from the usual lightweight, partisan, drivel spewing from the MSM and their lefty self absorbed, bought and paid for, stuck on stupid minions.

  32. I presume the 25,000 figure is closer to the truth. Read in two or more places that only 8,000 expat Canadians want a lift home.
Not mentioned in the thread so far..
I just wonder that Hitler didn*t accuse Churchill of being disproportionate. Ease up? Pull punches? Oh sorry, did that smart?

    Sounds correct to me.
    ===
Where does Saudi Arabia stand on all of this – are they on the side of Syria/Iran or are they on the side of Palestine/Iraq/Lebanon?

The Saudis have already come out placing the blame for this fight on the Hez.
Absolutely the last thing that the Sunni Sauds want is non-arab Iranian Shiite dominance of Islam as a religion and of the Persian Gulf region. I think they could be persuaded to go a long way to prevent that, especially as Iran prepares to go nuclear. Think tribal if you will, but even Clausewitz would have understood this dynamic.
So far the Arab League has sidelined itself. They seem to have no problem with Israelis exterminating the Shiite Hez either.
Again, the Sauds really don’t like the idea of a Shiite enclave in Lebanon. They also really dislike that a Sunni state like Syria is a willing pawn for their Shiite enemy. I’m willing to bet that they’re bending Assad*s ear on this.
I think Tony Snow just stated that the diplomatic contacts with Syria are being left to the Arabs

  34. so there are 141000 Lebanese Canadians or which 500000 live in Lebanon.?
    CBCpravda stats.
maybe they got the passports and were waiting for free passage.

  35. Lebanese vote Hezbollah so they deserve everything they get in retaliation when they attack another country.

    Not at all.

  37. I didn’t read all the responses but noted that nobody mentioned our “friends” to the south. Why is everyone, including our priminister so affraid to offend the assholes to the south ??!!
Wht are those stains on harper’s little black dress?
