  1. only time I dont eat beef is when I
    roast a chicken or
    BBQ some pork ribs.
sometimes wrap a trout or such in alum foil with olive oil, taters, sliced carrots, onions, sweet peppers, spices and BBQ that.
(peek into the foil periodically. man it tastes GOOOOOOOD !!!!)

Im getting the munchies. ttyl !!!

  2. The institutional left will, if allowed, zealously employ CAGW hysteria to complete the statist take-over of every aspect of your lives. It’s likely the most effective example of contrived mass hysteria that authoritarians have ever come across short of actual crises such as war, floods etc. Unfortunately the most effective way to counter their arguments is to experience the kind of loss of prosperity (a priority-changing experience) that they strive consciously or not to bring about. Statists will not allow such an economic decline without ensuring it is shared equally meaning that unless you hide assets somewhere out of their reach they will inflict more than your fair share of losses.

  3. I used to think that educated people could not be this dumb. I have since reversed my thinking, only educated people could be this dumb and the more educated they are the less they know. There used to be a saying that in university,if you specialized, you knew more and more about less and less until you learned everything about nothing. I thought that it was a joke, not any more.

      1. I never did wonder. I knew before he was elected he was dumb. A mile wide and a millimeter thick. I also knew/ know that leftists are for the most part extremely dull.

        1. I like your Canadian metric system.
          Only in Canada.

          What’s your mileage fictitious Jim?
          Bob I figur I get 10 miles a litre.
That’s better than me, I get 50 kliks a gallon.
(Hey I did not do the math, …..stay!!)

      2. Obama … social promotions, and affirmative-action. Yes, he be dumb, but learned to dress like a Nation of Islam disciple, minus the bow tie, talk purdy, learn to read the teleprompter, and make the reallllll hard Ssssssss sound for all words ending in s … just like his mentor: Louis Farrakhan.

Our FIRST; affirmative-action President and adherent to The Nation of Islam

    1. They just think and talk themselves into some really stupid shit. The critical thinking skills they learned aren’t as advertised. They are programmed to believe that every new idea emanating from those higher on the educational hierarchy must be true. More like a religious cult mixed with a teenage fan club mentality.

How else does one explain how these suckers seriously think that there’s no biological difference between males and females?

    2. “Educated” does not mean intelligent.
Many “genius” PhD’s don’t have the smarts to wipe their own noses. This is especially true for certain life forms majoring in gender studies.
University students may be getting an education; very few turn out to be intelligent.

    3. There is a lot of truth in that saying. That is what an advanced degree is, you specialize in a narrower area. And your Ph.D. thesis is just one topic in that narrow area. That is what you really know better than other people, that one topic. Whether that is worthwhile or not depends on whether the topic is worthwhile or not. Most of the time, it isn’t. Even in STEM fields, but it is more likely there.
Okay, I am biased in favor of STEM because I think it really is worthwhile, and along the way you are immersed in what is called “the scientific method.” That is to say, you look at any topic, you look for the key assumptions, you follow the arguments, and try to reach the same conclusions as the presenter. Only if you agree with the assumptions and the logical progression, will you agree with the conclusion.
Richard Feynman, the greatest physicist of the last half of the twentieth century, famously said, “I don’t care how good the theory is, I don’t care how smart you are, if it doesn’t agree with the data, you are wrong.” More “scientists” should have that humility. And he called “studies” that take on the trappings of “science” but are in reality nothing of the sort, cargo cult science.
IMHO all ethnic studies and gender studies are cargo cult science. They are devised to make academics of people who do not even belong in a university. Thank you affirmative action. They learn how to string together some high falutin’ words to make gibberish sentences. A lot of people won’t admit they don’t understand those sentences and so nod their head. But in reality no one, inclusive of the author can make sense out of those sentences because they don’t make any sense to begin with. What is worse these affirmative action beneficiaries really believe they are now “highly educated”, and can pontificate on any subject. We have a phrase in computing, GIGO, garbage in, garbage out. And their whole “academic career” is only one big garbage dump.
But I won’t necessarily extend your accusation to people who really received worthwhile education in STEM.

      1. The thing that I most admire about Richard Feynman is his ability to clearly explain physics in a way anyone with average intelligence can understand it. I have close relatives, husband and wife, who are really leftist alternative lifestylers who have spent a lifetime teaching and providing social services for indigenous peoples as far afield as Shishmaref AK. Who, ironically, currently live in the middle of nowhere Saskatchewan. ‘Joan’ is an extremely high IQ mathematician and physicist … who is as far left as a person can be. However, I would describe her as a classic 1960’s hippie liberal. I doubt she embraces some of the off the wall leftism of these younger generations. She’s simply too smart for that.

I bring up ‘Joan’, because when we were living close together and when I was struggling with college physics she gave me a book by Richard Feynman … “Lectures on Physics”, if I remember correctly. It actually helped me greatly. The paperback version of The Khan Academy. Feynman was the absolute poster-adult for what my first algebra teacher told us … he said … “you have not mastered a subject until you can successfully TEACH it to someone else”.

The “high degreed” so called intelligentsia are not convincing anyone of anything. Mostly because it’s all bogus social engineering. Climate change? Prove it. Give me the absolute smoking gun physics for how a tiny trace element in our atmosphere can “destroy the world”. They cannot. CAGW is all hypothesis with no proof. All FAILED modeling and conjecture. But look! they say … how could man NOT be destroying the planet? Look at the plastic patch in the Pacific!! Uh … orders of magnitude for one. Even with all our industrialization and urbanization … man remains a speck on the planet. Our activities go almost entirely unnoticed by the planet. The hysteria over another “mass extinction” caused by modern man is rubbish, and is something nature has been doing since organisms first started crawling, swimming, and changing their spots. The REAL sea level rise has been “accelerating!!!” because of global warming!!! Uh … yeah at a constant 1mm/year for the last 150 years … RUN!!! Miami will be underwater in 5, err, 10, err 25 Years !!! Sell your condo now!!!

The left has “learned” nothing in college but propaganda with flimsy underpinnings. They have no “proofs” for anything they “believe” … such as taking guns away from law-abiding citizens will reduce gun violence. Prove it. Mass murderers aren’t well … mentally. Find them, and prevent them from getting weapons. Hint: it won’t happen. They will find a way to obtain illegal weapons. Wishful thinking isn’t (or at least shouldn’t be) … public policy. Prove it. They cannot.

        1. Ah yes, Feynman’s Lectures on Physics. He wrote that as the text for the freshman class he was teaching at Cal Tech. To show what that class is like, it was our bible while preparing for the Qualifying Exams in grad school, passage of which was required for Advancement to Candidacy, that is, starting to do your research that culminates in your thesis. The Quals differ by school and discipline, but where I was, it was a two day 13 hour completely closed book exam that tests your knowledge in all areas of physics. Not many of us were that knowledgeable about everything, and Feynman’s helped to remind us where we were weak. (There were a few for whom the Quals were a snap. They were on a different level. The department warned us to pick the best three topics out of four in one test, for example. If we did all four, they would take the worst three. This guy was so bored he answered all four completely right, while I struggled to finish three in time. Unfortunately he fried his brains on drugs. What a waste of God’s gift that was.)
I especially recommend rereading the chapters on weather and the two state system, which gives great insight into how modern physics works.
I am much farther from Feynman than you are from me in the understanding of physics, but for what I do understand, I always thought I should be able to explain concepts such as relativity to an intelligent layman. I managed to do a decent job of it for those friends who took me up on the offer.

          1. When I was in a fraternity at CAL … we had a ‘brother’ who was a brilliant engineering student. Whenever I needed help … I went to him instead of my TA. I always found him in the same place … on our roof deck, inhaling a bong. Glassy-eyed, he’d rattle off the knowledge I was unable to grasp so easily. I wonder if he was ever involved in a bridge collapse somewhere because of some minor mathematics error?

        2. Had some trouble with the computer. To finish the reply:
CAGW is the result of an incestuous relationship between scientists (to be charitable) and politicians. Offhand, one would expect the prospect of global cooling to be more frightening than global warming. Prosperity had always been tied to plentiful harvest, which in turn increases with temperature and rain fall. In my native Guangdong province, they have two crops of rice everywhere, in some counties even three. Guangdong is the southernmost province of China, with plenty of rain fall in the summer. Annual harvests had always been known to be directly affected by the small temperature variations.
I am preaching to the choir, so I’ll cut short all the scientific arguments. But the real politics is the fact that control carbon dioxide emission you control energy, for which combustion of so-called fossil fuels is the dominant source. Control energy you control industrial production. The U.N. wants nothing less than the ability to control industrial production of every country by its assignment of “carbon budget.” One of the aims of that control is wealth redistribution.
Eisenhower warned about the military industrial complex. As part of that warning he warned against government sponsorship of scientific research. The so-called climate scientists are nothing less than prostitutes who sell out their intellect and science for grants, given them as long as their conclusions go in one direction. Since real world data violently disagree with their data (re Feynman’s dictum) they resort to models which always predict a dismal future. It doesn’t matter how valid the models are, the politicians have their input from the prostitutes, and they can parade the models as the consensus of the scientists.
These politicians and scientists are like certain viruses. They remain dormant as long as conditions are not favorable, as the Earth’s temperature had been stable or slightly lowered in a 20, 25 year period. But let it increase for a couple of years as a result of natural variation, they breakout in all their virulence, and even worse than before.
I have a theory on their current urgency. There is evidence that the Earth, in contrast to their scare, is actually approaching another Ice Age. Temperatures are going to fall. It is imperative for them to get agreements on controlling AGW, no matter how feable the attempt is in real life. If they can do that, they can take credit for the subsequent lowered temperature, and use that as a club to insure future control. Yes, the next decade may be crucial. It is imperative we hold the line and do nothing different. That is another reason why we should be so grateful that God in his providence gave us Donald Trump as president, against all odds.

  4. Why pay for these “emissions” when we can get them for free every time one of these loonies speaks?

    1. I was thinking that if we charged every one of these morons a fee everytime they opened their mouths and emissions (oops words) were emitted we deplorables could more then pay for every tax the morons threw at us.

  5. How about we shove something up Andrews ass to stop him from farting. I now know that everyone is stupid.

  6. There’s a huge flaw in his logic. If the government is going to regulate food prices based on total CO2 footprint then the cost of imported, off season fruits and vegetables will skyrocket. Flying/shipping and refrigerated trucking of fresh lettuce, bananas, tomatoes, avocados, berries etc from across the world to most of the US and Canada has a pretty big CO2 footprint compared to the beef, pork and chicken available year round next to most cities and towns.

Won’t fresh fruit and vegetables also become too expensive for the working class and lower middle class. I guess it’s back to potatoes and thin gruel for the less fortunate in the winter. Junk food will also be cheaper- Let them eat Doritos

    1. What will happen is that arable land will be depleted due to its use for vegetables or sorghum.

I suppose Mr. Yang did not factor in how affordable meat is for the lower-income bracket.

  7. Beef is expensive enough without adding an unfair ‘fart tax’ on top of it.

This unfairness is evident in that they are not talking about taxing the farts of other farm animals, so where’s the equality in that?

We want fair fart taxation or no fart tax at all. Does anyone think that pig farts are less lethal that cow farts?

    1. What about elk, moose or deer farts?
Are their going to be tags issued on how much CO2 emissions are eliminated?
This whole climate crisis is so stupid, you just shake your head, then there are people elected, pushing this bullshit.
      Who elected these morons?
We need to remove the education system from government. The public sector & teachers unions are all in on this climate change nonsense and they are brainwashing our kids. They are linked globally & are moving forward with programs no one ever voted for like Agenda 21.
Anti freedom is the basics, humans are trash to be controlled and disposed of is the long term goal.
      Who voted for this???
Yet our public service at all levels are implementing it.
When ever you hear the word “sustainability”, Agenda 21 is involved.
Never hire a consultant that uses that word.
Better yet they should be ….
One promising note is their development model is not doing well, high density residential with CRU’s on the main level are not popular. The units are 700 sq ft sh!tholes stacked together.
Go to an Ikea to see what a “sustainable” living unit looks like, all 700 sq ft.
      They are pushing Agenda 21.
I never shop at Ikea, they are part of the problem, my personal choice.

  8. Meat is the cheapest, most effective way to get decent protein into people. Liberals hate poor people part 1,000,000,000,000

    1. High protein plant foods like beans, peas and legumes are very economical. But then ya gotta like eating em! High protein and cheap meats include sardines and chicken. Beef is now far out of reach for most people’s budgets. Pork is still within reach.

I still like to try to get my government cow every fall when hunting season opens. Done right, that is the cheapest and healthiest there is. But I invest so many calories searching, chasing, butchering and then toting out the government cow I wondering I am breaking even on calories!

  9. Relax. It’s all doomed to failure.

No middle-class suburbanite in an SUV is interested in returning to a time when it was all seasonal food with salted beef/pork, bottles of pickles and preserves and mouldy root vegetables to get you through the winter.

    1. It gets me through the winter. Its all I do on the weekends is grow food, hunt it, fish it, forage it, harvest it, pickle/preserve/ferment/can/bottle/freeze it. And then eat it the rest of the year. It is a very fulfilling hobby and I cannot remember not having done it. Nor can I prevent myself from doing it even though I make above average income. It is such a basic primal urge. Just like the squirrel who is busy stealing and caching all my birdseed and cutting and running off with all my spruce cones this time of year. I blame being raised in Saskatchewan for this compulsion.

    2. Yes, Canadians are fully on board with battling climate change, provided they don’t have to make any sacrifice whatsoever.

Same result to be expected with this ludicrous idea.

  10. If you read Yang’s book, it is actually quite good — good information and interesting theories about the impact of technology. Sadly, he seems to have gone off the rails. Politics does that to people.

    1. I thought Yang was a failed Businessman (like Truman) but then gave up and began working for a NGO teaching Guess what? He is an idiot looking for a village….

The fact that AI has been available since the 1980’s seems to be unknown to todays wack-jobs…We have used AI in all the processes that made sense, like Expert Systems (AKA self healing). That AI does not fit into most applications has been regurgitated many times… It is the Humans that create, not the machines.

      JMHO

      1. I think his arguments are convincing. Maybe what he predicts won’t happen as quickly or extensively as he predicts, but the pace of change and power behind AI make it clear that many jobs will disappear because of AI. One area where he anticipates huge impact is self-driving vehicles. These are not perfect yet, but they are coming and will replace many human drivers. Read the book if you have not. It’s interesting. Yang is not really a failed business man. He is quite successful.

        1. Yang’s net worth is $1-2 million and he declared $150,000 in income last year. There are millions of middle managers in corporate America who are worth more than the “quite successful” Yang.

It’s pretty hard to get a BA from Brown and a JD from Columbia and accomplish as little as Yang, now people are listening to him preach about what the country should do?

          1. I guess we have different understandings of what it is to be successful. I think his accomplishments with sparking entrepreneurship across the country are pretty impressive. Not everyone measures life accomplishments exclusively in dollars.

          2. If you are calling yourself a successful entrepreneur, the only all encompassing measure of that success is the $. Its not how many businesses you started (easy to start a business, almost impossible to keep it going) or how many jobs you created (not about jobs, its about sustainable profits). I know people like this. They are attention seekers and they deflect from their failures as entrepreneurs by trying to be hip with whatever the latest trend is. This idiot is not trying to be president. he is seeking attention for himself so that he can prostitute himself out as some sort of “expert” after he fails the nomination and get rich on speaking fees and directorships. The guy is a con artist.

        2. He wants to take away your: car, meat, income and anything else he thinks up in the future.
Why can’t you recognize him for the tyrant he wants to be ? He’s not hiding it ?

          1. All I said was that his book is interesting. It is. His portraits of communities that have lost their economic base are a wake up call to all those who do not get why it is important to have policies that attract and foster successful businesses — eg. low taxes. The Liberals are doing just the opposite. I also said he now seems to have gone off the rails. I do not support his politics. It is not necessary to dismiss everything a person has to say because you dislike some of their ideas.

        3. This thought is based on a lifetime of observing those two groups driving.

If we could get self-driving cars to be mandatory for women and the Chinese, we will go a long way to making vehicle travel safe again.

  11. Andrew Yang can go and suck a lemon.
It is outside of his grasp to tell other people how, what, where, or anything else.
Unless of course he is some kind of socialist/fascist, then there are those that will comply with the help of media cartel misinformation propaganda

  12. It is apparent to me the intent is to regulate and tax until eating and keeping warm is unaffordable and in your weakened state of starvation they will help you on your way. Just the Deplorables though and the environment will be miraculously saved ! When the Hunger games become reality.

  13. With the increasingly authoritarian bent of progressive politicians, maybe my grandfather’s advice about buying land will prove to be right. I doubt the government can tax meat raised for personal use. After all they don’t charge a tax for homegrown produce, eggs or milk that isn’t up for sale. Besides, with land you most likely have game meat, too. Wouldn’t even need that many acres and could still live in a nearby town just like many of the farmers and ranchers I know.

  14. Osumashi Kinyobe at 12:54 pm
“Yeah, like the beef industry is going to let this yahoo tank them.”

The beef industry, represented by Livestock and Cattlemen’s Associations, is slowly and incrementally folding to the yahoos and has been doing so for some time. The Beef Industry has already let the yahoos define the Codes of Livestock Care and Handling Practices in Ontario and Alberta….and it’s probably the same in other provinces as well.

Like the rest of Canada, ranchers and farmers are either unbelievably ignorant about what is going on, or they’re just whistling past the graveyard. Either way, they deserve what’s coming for them.

You make your first and biggest mistake when you agree to sit down at the table with the bastards.

  15. What these virtue signaling hypocrites don’t mention is carbon taxes, or killing off the fossil fuels industry, or making meat too expensive to buy begins its depravity body count with the poor, who will bear the brunt of their interventionism and arrogance.

If I have to pay a couple of bucks more for a steak, my means make that quite allowable. How much would you have to tax it to deter me from consuming it? Answer, quite a bit, along with a crushing the food budget of people who have to watch every cent.

Here in Canada, the Grits complain the Tory tax cut doesn’t affect families who don’t pay tax, then proceed to promote job killing legislation, hit them with carbon taxes, and if they recover from that to actually put a few bucks away, push them out of the housing market with their new mortgage financing rules.

It’s almost as if they want to make everybody dependent on the state, their wards. Almost has nothing to do with it imho.

  16. We should be taxing the emissions that come out of his pie hole.

    Elitist imbecile.

  17. what cost??… plants are greener ,crops grow faster due to increased co2..
the costs are the price of virtue signaling for the panic stricken..
haven’t the greenies claimed solar/wind power will save money??

  18. This is getting bat shit crazy …..people with even an ounce of common sense are being marginalized by the loony left mob . It is not a joke anymore . South of the border the low information voters think the green new deal is cool . Canada is not immune to this craziness when you consider that people like john tory are declaring a climate emergency for Christ sake .

    1. “Canada is not immune to this craziness ” Canada especially under the current Liberal regime is the poster child for this craziness. And you are right, it is no joke. Someone mentioned a meat tax– coming right up, for sure.

  19. Let’s see. Make beef too expensive to consume. Wonder what happens to the deer, elk, moose populations? After they’re gone meat eaters will be forced to eat liberals.

I know everyone laughs about libs taking away our beef…but they did it to our schools, our income and a lot of our freedoms. They’re a patient and persistent people and conservatives seem to be a VERY tolerant people. We pretty much let the left do whatever they want to us. If they want to take away our beef…we’ll probably let them.

    1. Liberals would end up eating their own long before any of that happened because voters would laugh them out of office.

  20. Cows can inhabit the same habitat as other wild critters just like the buffalo did prior to their decimation. Buffalo are also ruminants that belch methane. Based on the left’s position, the Europeans were visionaries. The left cannot have it both ways. I.e. cows bad/buffalo good. Buffalo also ate down saplings as well as kept the tree line way further north than it is now. Old photographs of Ft. Edmonton show a barren prairie landscape. It was only after the buffalo were gone that the territory became boreal forest.
Growing soy for fake food requires destroying wildlife habitat by cultivating. Original grass and other wild plants are destroyed by ploughing to be replaced by weeds. Soy is also an allergen; I’ve yet to see any allergen warnings such as, “contains beef”.

The other blatant lie from the left can also be easily refuted. That is, “If we stop eating meat the entire world could be fed.” That is BS on so many levels. If the left really wanted to feed the world, they would stop drinking.
The best grain and grapes go for liquor production. Malters, distillers and wineries will only purchase the best to manufacture alcoholic products. The second best goes for human consumption. That which is considered unfit for humans is what is fed to animals.

    1. “If we stop eating meat the entire world could be fed.”

The world is being fed. Also, we put so much edible product in our gas tanks as ethanol and bio-diesel. As said, when we raised cattle, they pastured half the year on unproductive land. Hay land was part of a crop rotation that made for healthy fields with less fertilizer needed.

  21. I’m in! – For the ‘soylent green’ stuff. Andrew you’re first.
Chinese is most of the time, my favorite!

  22. The meat would only become too expensive to eat if there’s no way to reduce emissions-but there probably is. GMO ruminant bacteria would probably reduce emissions. Cloning and growing meat tissue would eliminate it.

The tax isn’t a good idea but the pearl-clutching going on is too much, and Yang is the best choice out there right now.

  23. Vegetarians fart. I eat meat and get the cows to fart for me. I bet that the vegetarians fart more than the cows. Either way, plants are being eaten and turned into farts, either by a human or a cow.
