1. One of these fakes hangs out at the berm near the entrance to the local Fortinos.

   (that’s part of the grift – if they’re on the apron in front of the store that’s store property. If they’re on the pedestrian berm in the parking lot that’s the mall owner’s property and the stores will disclaim any responsibility)

   When they show up I go to the store manager and tell him if he doesn’t call the police and have the grifter rousted, I’m going to the next closest Fortinos and telling that store manager and Weston head office exactly why. Works every time.

3. Honestly thought this was an upgrade on the hug-and-steal jewelry scam. A “violinist” uses his bow to snag necklaces while sign carrying skank hugs people as she picks pockets.
   Dammit, I just gave these scumbags a new grift.

4. Well … at least they aren’t defrauding the US government out of $Billions. They’re just honest … err, dishonest entrepreneurs with a strong work … err, scam ethic.

5. Does Canada have to contend with the “Irish Travelers” like we do in the US? They are of the Shelta and 100% Irish gypsies who travel the US in the warm months trying to pressure people (usually elderly) into some asphalt or roofing work. They never finish the job and require the money upfront. Any work they do complete is likely on the level of 4th grader with only two fingers.

   If you saw the movie “Snatch”, you know whom I’m taking about.

6. We have a few but usually a Menonite crew or any crew will do driveways in the area and you can go see their work. Otherwise, assume it’s the Irish ROvers.

7. Canaduh has a generous welfare system. We don’t need public beggars.
   If people are legit, they register with the government and get welfare.
   They don’t need to be publicly begging.

   Do you want public begging like they have in shitholes like India?
   Because this is how your country gets to be a shithole like India.

   Don’t give them money, don’t encourage or subsidize them.

   2. Have you driven though any major intersection in Ottawa? Beggers walking between lines of vehicles at stop lights.
      Poor, druggies, disability or welfare recipients, immigrants both legal and not plus ordinary scam artists.
      At least they don’t try to wash windows anymore.
      I have a family member on disability, this is not even a subsistence income.
