A shipment of more than 100,000 testing swabs arrived in Ontario contaminated and unusable, the Star has learned, illustrating how even as the province strives to expand its COVID-19 lab-testing capacity it is still contending with global supply-chain havoc wrought by the pandemic.
The shipment of much-needed swabs, a critical component of the testing, was the first instalment of a big order procured by the federal government, with hundreds of thousands of more from the contaminated batch on the way. The contamination is believed to be mould.
A complete and utter failure by our federal government from beginning to end. Not surprising.

This afternoon my wife asked our daughter to pick up a particular grocery product on the way home. When she got home wife asked daughter if she had the item. My daughter(bless her heart) said she was on her way to the grocery store and realized it was owned by Chinese and decided we didn’t need it that bad.

China has been responsible for H1N1, swine flu, Sars, fentanyl and now Covid-19. Its a fact that this virus came from a lab in Wuhan.The only question is whether it was deliberate or not. Apparently the jury is still out on that BUT NOT FOR ME ,IT ISN’T.

We have a local guy who fled Chicom a few years ago. His wife and child followed him three years later. He had nothing good to say about them until he came back from a trip to China. He had hoped to bring his elderly father for a visit to Canada but Chicom wouldn’t let the father go. He now no longer says a single thing about the Chicom positive or negative. He just smiles if you ask him anything about China and says how much he loves Canada.

The best beef noodle soup is from Yunnan province. Taiwan has tons of little restaurants specializing in it. But they are hard to find here. If you find one, it is secondary derivation Yunnan/Taiwan/N. American. But Pho is easy to find and good enough.

Get to know them, you’ll know who is who very quickly. If they come from PRC and are rich they are without exception profiteers of one of the most wretched systems on the planet. This is exact opposite to HK or Macao (these also tend to have Portuguese last names, just don’t confuse them with Filipinos, they’ll be as happy as Poles confused with Russians or Iranians with Arabs when that happens). Also majority of HK, Macao immigration came in before Chicom takeover of those places. So there is that.
Then you have Chinese who have been here for generations. You tell them apart from the new ones by learning how long their family was here. They also speak perfect English, tend not to speak Mandarin in public and are as Western as any other Westerner.
In short: don’t get trapped into UnMe accusations of racism. It is always about the culture and never about race or skin color. Culture matters, skin color does not.
I am in my 60’s. Two of my brother-in-laws came over to Canada more than 50 years ago. Their background does not matter – you wish they were part of your family. So I still support the Chinese restaurants.

I’ve always thought that even if we didn’t make a lot of stuff, but made the machines/tools that make stuff, that would be a pretty good plan B. In North America that’s what the US does but increasingly less so.
Trump warned Americans. He can use America’s manufacturing shortcomings by reminding voters once again.
But Canada has far too many UnMe’s who only care about how cheap stuff is, not whether their neighbour is a machinist or an Uber driver.

Just look at the buying patterns of your population! At the grocery store, they have first bought up all frozen goods. That is the most expensive food products! For weeks, the sheeple have ignored flour, but some have finally caught up and started buying it. The majority is swiping bread and buns from the shelves still. The produce section is virtually devoid of shoppers though.
For weeks, bulk food stores have stood without customers. Now the sheeple had finally figured out that these stores existed and that the lines there were shorter. Now the lines to enter are just as long, but watch what they buy! It is candy, cookies, pasta, and boxed cereals.
Your population knows close to nothing about supporting themselves and surviving! They cannot even make themselves a cup of their beloved coffee.
I will not tell you what I had stocked up on, because the same sheeple are reading. I’ll watch them go down, because during the previous, calm decades, they had been going out of their way to abuse, insult, annoy, pester, and bother me, while I worked literally day and night, to support their lavish lifestyles. Enough. I’ll sit back, enjoy my 50c breakfast, rich on nutrients, vitamins, and micro-nutrients, and see them writhe. And then I will take all their valuables in exchange for the items necessary to survive. I will allow only the select ones to. It will be like this:

I too buy ICs. The Chinese go out of their way to cheat in this area. Remark, reground parts, or blank parts marked to whatever the order comes for, are a normality. This is not QC – this is an intentional scam.

Obviously someone in Quebec has not been paid the appropriate bribe. Government of Manitoba has just announced they can no longer depend on anyone but Manitobans creating stuff manufactured in Manitoba to get through the crisis and have posted a request for interest on a new design for N95 masks that is cheaper, better and reusable invented by a Manitoba surgeon. I wonder if this has anything to do with how Manitoba’s N95 order from 3M got captured at the border and diverted by Ottawa to the Liberal voting regions?
