  1. Tillerson’s out. Replaced by Pompeo. Wonder what that is all about. Too bad, I liked Tillerson– very, very capable.

  2. “Sadiq Kahn, London’s mayor and a closet racist cries about racism”
I lived and worked in London for quite a long time before returning to Canada in 2007. As cliché-ridden as this might sound, London truly is a cosmopolitan, diverse city* that gets along very well, despite the usual professional race-grievance mongers always helpfully reminding everyone how racist they are.
    * A city vastly more cosmopolitan and “diverse” than our own smug but lacklustre capital on the Rideau – no matter what Our Dear Leader and his high school student council of a government might proclaim.

“How Many People Did Joseph Stalin Kill?
Joseph Stalin, who died 60 years ago in Moscow, was a small man — no more than 5-foot-4. The abused son of a poor, alcoholic Georgian cobbler, Josef Vissarionovich Djughashvili (the future Stalin) also had a withered arm, a clubbed foot and a face scarred by small pox, but he stood very tall as one of history’s most prolific killers.
Stalin’s extremely brutal 30-year rule as absolute ruler of the Soviet Union featured so many atrocities, including purges, expulsions, forced displacements, imprisonment in labor camps, manufactured famines, torture and good old-fashioned acts of mass murder and massacres (not to mention World War II) that the complete toll of bloodshed will likely never be known.
An amoral psychopath and paranoid with a gangster’s mentality, Stalin eliminated anyone and everyone who was a threat to his power – including (and especially) former allies. He had absolutely no regard for the sanctity of human life.
But how many people is he responsible for killing?
In February 1989, two years before the fall of the Soviet Union, a research paper by Georgian historian Roy Aleksandrovich Medvedev published in the weekly tabloid Argumenti i Fakti estimated that the death toll directly attributable to Stalin’s rule amounted to some 20 million lives (on top of the estimated 20 million Soviet troops and civilians who perished in the Second World War), for a total tally of 40 million.”

  6. I am not sure why he snubbed the Belgium delegation. Anyone have any ideas? It really does look like a deliberate snub.

  7. surprised that you have not covered Brittany Pettibone and Lauren Southern being banned from the UK

  8. When the delegation from Belgium informed the PMO’s office of the visit, they were informed that the PMO would not be able to attend due to prior engagements.

His “prior engagement” was a March Break family holiday in Florida. And yet, PM put off vacation plans in response to Washington news last week to do to steel mill tour this week.

With the province seemingly ready to vote out the Liberal party in the upcoming June election, a Forum Research poll conducted on March 11th, the day after Doug Ford was announced the PC leader, concludes the 416, which is traditionally a Liberal stronghold, could start turning Tory.
Most notably, numbers suggest Kathleen Wynne’s riding in Don Valley West might go blue.
In all, Forum concludes 15 seats may go into PC hands in the 416, there is currently one.

  10. Didn’t Trudeau just finish a big ski vacation in January? Then of course there was the family vacation in India. On top of that they were planning school break week? I am pretty sure he will be taking an Easter break. When does the guy work?

“In all, over the twenty-year period before the military purge of 1937, there was never a moment that the Bolsheviks believed their army was reliable or secure.
When the Great Terror erupted in 1936, the growing wave of political violence and intense pressures placed on state and society brought long-standing security anxieties surrounding the Red Army to a head. The ‘military-fascist plot’ seemed entirely credible to the Stalinist regime in 1937.
The military purge was the result of long-standing security anxieties about the Red Army that stretched back to 1917; when these became intertwined with the explosion of political violence during the Great Terror, the Soviet high command was left fatally exposed.”

  15. There was also his cross-country town hall trip in February and his side trip to Davos. Best to keep him in the country making an ass of himself because whenever he leaves the continent he usually gives away a few hundred million dollars.
Shouldn’t he be working on NAFTA negotiations or in B.C. explaining the national importance of Kinder Morgan instead of touring steel plants in Hamilton? Or did he just want to go to steel plants so he could put on a hard hat and eat donuts and pretend to be one of the guys?

  16. Shouldn’t he be working on NAFTA negotiations or in B.C. explaining the national importance of Kinder Morgan instead of touring steel plants in Hamilton?
If the NAFTA negotiations were in a tropical location, with a beach to match, Princess Soapy would urge him to be there. After all, she works so hard and needs her rest, doesn’t she?

  17. Trudeau doesn’t care about WWII except for calling any opposition fascist so couldn’t care less about Belgium and any anniversaries. Also hates royalry because they will outlast him.

  18. I see a converted Muslim was sentenced to 45 years in New York for conspiring to kill american soldiers. What a difference in Canada we had the same situation with Omar but rather than incarcerated him we gave him 10 million dollars, you have to love those liberals.
