TRIGGERED:Could Jordan Peterson become the best-selling Canadian author of all time?

If he wanted to be PM right now, he could be. But, why would anyone want to saddle themselves with a country that went down the drain sometime during PET’s tenure? The same reason Saskatchewan has never had a separation vote I guess.
Of ALL TIME? Yeah, like WWI was the War to End All Wars.(the Great War) I’d like to think that the *”Of All Time” sobriquet was put to rest with the ‘Great Gretzky’.(sheesh)
*humbly accurately it should be of ‘Our Time’ lest we be the last generation because of, say, a Global Extinction Event like a Nuclear War. and then who would give a shit what we thought was ‘Great’ or Best or Of All Time?
Perhaps we should be humble enough to say, …YET and in our own time!? Naw.
I just watched his ‘interview’ with Mesley (CBC). She tried to shame him for his appearances on Rebel media, and a picture of him with pep the frog (wow).
Kinda disappointed in his answers. Hope he isn’t burning out.
What? What about Maggie Atwood!? Horrors….Jordan and his twelve rules trump Maggie and her handwringing handmaiden horse manure. Who has seen the wind shift?
These book sales are a sign of how motivated many are to find some real direction and quality advice for their lives.
Even in the face of such vitriol and ignorance, what a calm, positive role model Peterson has become for so many. The treatment he has endured reminds me of how the ‘establishment’ turned on the once respectable Bill Cosby when he outed many black men for being shitty fathers. Personally, I was very lucky to have a couple of inspiring mentors in my early career years, they helped shape who I am today.
But, most of all Mr. Peterson, thank you for being an intelligent, articulate Canadian on the world stage at a time we would like to convince the world that we aren’t all preening chuckleheads like our would-be King Justin.
The wind shift? … Environment Canada warning about stale wind or something, … did a cow fart somewhere?
Bought 2 copies from Indigo. One for my ex wife, one for my kids to pass around. My son read much of it to my ex wife while driving through the mountains from here to Vancouver a few weeks ago. That’s never happened before, and it’s been a long while since I bought any “new” book from any bookstore.
One way to read 12 Rules for Life- AN ANTIDOTE TO CHAOS is:
Read it the first time to get a sense of each chapter.
Read it a second time, with a notebook handy and make *notes for later review.
Read it a 3rd time, again chapter by chapter using the notes, as if you were studying for an exam.
You are. It’s a series of exams, called life.

And JP can thank the left for it. They’re totalitarian tactics in trying to shut him down has only made people more interested in what he has to say.
“And JP can thank the left for it.”
Absolutely!
What was supposed to happen: a sorry and contrite professor submits to campus humiliation and publicly recants, is forced to resign his position by a craven university administration and is shamed into retirement and oblivion.
What actually happened: the professor effectively calls their bluff, outflanks them all on social media, becomes a global sensation almost overnight, makes every media talking head he encounters look like a dunce and – to top it off! – makes a bundle of cash from his books and appearances.
The best part of all: the “progressives” have only themselves to blame for creating all the silly fuss that got him started.
I personally view Peterson as an avatar of common sense; things have come to a pretty pass in society when anyone could consider his views in any way controversial.
I also think the “Peterson affair” might well prove to be the high-water mark for the current generation of illiberal and mentally unstable screamers on campus.
I watched that interview too. I was left a little disappointed at the tail end of the interview where they discussed him “riding high.” He expressed that it might not end well.. even that it likely wouldn’t end well. And of course Mesley jumped all over it and Peterson stated that he fears “making a mistake.” This fear of making a mistake, admittedly held by someone as.. heroic… as Peterson, is evidence of a significant CHILL on the freedom of speech.
Mesley of course slandered theRebel because “some people” stopped associating with theRebel after Charlottesville. She stupidly uses this as evidence that theRebel is very bad and evil and therefore because he gives interviews to them, he himself is bad and evil. What she and the rest of the CBC don’t realize is there is a broader culture shift happening and that people no longer give a shit who the CBC doesn’t approve of.
