For just desserts: narrative crumble

Better late than never is progress, one supposes, when it comes to the left-wing corporate media. The mantra of “listen to the experts” has less to do with informed consent and more to do with unquestioning obedience coupled with the gaslighting of dissenters. In the end, “team science” just succeeded in wrecking their own credibility.

What we did not properly appreciate is that preferences determine how scientific expertise is used, and that our preferences might be—indeed, our preferences were—very different from many of the people that we serve. We created policy based on our preferences, then justified it using data. And then we portrayed those opposing our efforts as misguided, ignorant, selfish, and evil.

We made science a team sport, and in so doing, we made it no longer science. It became us versus them, and “they” responded the only way anyone might expect them to: by resisting.

Easily treatable

Yeah, I know. It’s just an anecdote. No triple blind whirling somersault study to back it up. But it’s interesting nonetheless as it comes from someone who has been an unrelenting cheerleader for the mass vaccination program. It’s just not working out as well as hoped for, on a personal level.

….Vossoughian had mysterious aches in her chest for 10 days, culminating in chest and shoulder pain so severe that she wound up in the emergency room.
She was held for four nights before being discharged. But three days after that, she felt a “a butterfly” in her heart – or, less poetically, an arrhythmia – and was hospitalized again, with myocarditis, for five more nights, and was given a “battery” of tests before being released.

Even Dr. Rochelle Walensky would not call a case of myopericarditis that required nine days of hospitalization “mild.”

Yes, she’s jabbed.

Pfizer Executive Says Company to ‘Mutate’ COVID via ‘Directed Evolution’ to Continue Profiting Off of Vaccines

So, I guess he’s fired.

Jordon Trishton Walker, Pfizer Director of Research and Development, Strategic Operations – mRNA Scientific Planner: “One of the things we’re exploring is like, why don’t we just mutate it [COVID] ourselves so we could create — preemptively develop new vaccines, right? So, we have to do that. If we’re gonna do that though, there’s a risk of like, as you could imagine — no one wants to be having a pharma company mutating f**king viruses.”

Woo boy.

UK Independent;

The universal Covid-19 vaccination programme will draw to a close this year, officials have said as they urged people to take up the offer of a jab while they still have a chance.

Meanwhile, healthy adults under the age of 50 who have not taken up the offer of a booster have been given just two-and-a-half weeks to take up the offer before they are no longer eligible.

Despite officials saying that the offer of a jab is “evergreen”, vaccination experts have advised that the universal offer should move “towards a more targeted offer during vaccination campaigns”.

Surely just coincidence.

Update: US Recorded 300,000 Excess NON COVID Deaths

Old news

For anyone who has followed Geert Vanden Bossche since the pandemic started, this is not even news. The good doctor predicted exactly this outcome from day one, but as is par for the course these days, the article manages to completely avoid any mention of him.

The reason for the continuing decline in bivalent boosters limiting infection is likely due to “immune imprinting,” the idea that the immune response to either previous infection or to receiving a vaccine limits an individual’s future response to new variants. The immune system thus prefers to recall existing memory cells rather than produce new responses when the old and new variants are closely related. We produce antibodies that fight the older strains more effectively than the evolving ones that now dominate.

Thus, new strains that develop will continue to rapidly evade the antibodies produced by repeated vaccinations and we will continue to get diminishing returns. The more we try and prevent new infections with more and more booster shots, the less effective they will likely become in preventing infections themselves.

Misinformation for $1 million, Alex

As if there  weren’t enough places for tax dollars to get flushed away, along comes this.

Having failed to eradicate a virus, the public health agency will now try to eradicate viral ideas.

Remember PREDICT, the research programme funded by the US Agency for International Development and carried out in partnership with EcoHealth Alliance and Metabiota, with the goal of identifying potential emerging pandemic pathogens?

Well, the Centers for Disease Control now propose to take a similar approach to our thoughts. They’ve solicited grant applications from researchers pledging to “develop a public health tool to predict the virality of vaccine misinformation narratives.”

“Experts” -Always The Last To Know-

Ian Miller- Japan just reported its highest single day number of COVID deaths and set a record for their highest average number of the pandemic, despite nearly three years of universal masking & exceptionally high vaccination and booster rates. Seems to be working perfectly to control COVID.

The Daily Sceptic- Japan’s Experts Baffled by High ‘Covid’ Deaths From Heart Problems Despite High Vaccination Rate

After three booster campaigns in 2022, the Japanese are now in a league of their own among mRNA consuming countries, administering far more boosters than countries that had far more coercive vaccination campaigns.

Toronto Sun;

A safety monitoring system flagged that U.S. drugmaker Pfizer Inc and German partner BioNTech’s updated COVID-19 shot could be linked to a type of brain stroke in older adults, according to preliminary data analyzed by U.S. health authorities.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Friday that a CDC vaccine database had uncovered a possible safety issue in which people 65 and older were more likely to have an ischemic stroke 21 days after receiving the Pfizer/BioNTech bivalent shot, compared with days 22-44.

An ischemic stroke, also known as brain ischemia, is caused by blockages in arteries that carry blood to the brain.

I’d be comparing the frequency of ischemic strokes 21 days after with 21 days prior, but that’s just me.

Spot the Fallacies

As an intellectual exercise for a Sunday afternoon, try listing all the fallacies contained in this random Facebook post pertaining to pandemic policy. There could be enough to fill a small library. Whoever this person is, she’s not alone in promoting the fallacy that consensus is the measure of truth, and that dominant paradigms are only ever opposed by “a couple of discredited doctors” anyway.

The inevitable result of a philosophy that enshrines intellectual helplessness is a society in which nearly everyone unthinkingly accepts the ideas of the dominant authority figures no matter where they lead.

Speculation on 24 year old NFL player, Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest continues.  The obsolete media is leaning heavily on the theory that it was “Commotio cordis“. Others are leaning towards the Jab as the culprit. Actual evidence via tests has yet to be made public.

Tucker Carlson- Cardiologist Peter McCullough, MD, MPH speaks with Tucker Carlson on January 3, 2023 about the tragic collapse of Damar Hamlin.

Peter A. McCullough- Public Health Obligation to Disclose Cause of Cardiac Arrest and Sudden Death

Robert Malone- Cardiac Arrest in Athletes

Alex Berenson- On Damar Hamlin, mRNA shots, and spin

Gad Saad- It’s appropriate to ask all relevant questions; it’s inappropriate to presume any given conclusion.

Francisco- Just putting this out there, recreational or performance enhancing drugs could also be possibilities.

Addendum, from Kate: Its generally unwise to speculate on the cause of any specific, high profile case such as this, because of the obvious risk in having it blow up in your face and thereby undermine whatever credibility you might have going forward in legitimate discussions on vaccine safety.

I cannot for the life of me understand why some of the public profiles mentioned above have chosen to do so.

Should the topic come up in discussion, and I’m pressed for an opinion, my current response is “climate change”. If you’re going to exploit a tragedy to promote a narrative, make it their stupid narrative.
