  6. I didn’t read the whole placard, but Kate’s point — that Shiri Nigari wanted to speak, but wasn’t invited — is bogus. A lot of other people who weren’t invited still manage to speak up; what, specifically, is preventing what’s-her-name from doing the same?

Either of those girls could have been one of my daughters. They were in Toronto the week before the Creba incident, one was flying home from France within a week of a revealed terror plot.   24. Reading the comments on here today, and having looked at that picture since last night, I finally know what I need to say about it.
    THE difference, the fundamental, defining difference between people I know who deem themselves “conservative”, whatever that means, and “liberal/progressive/Lefty” whatever that means, is that those self described conservatives can’t look at that placard and feel anything but the need to destroy the men who did that.
    There are some things that cannot be tolerated, understood, put in context, excused or rationalized. People who do such things, or pay for them to be done, must be stopped.
    Only a liberal can have conflicted feelings upon seeing something like that. This is why I personally work to defeat their malign influence wherever I find it.
    Confusion to the enemy!

  25. In less than a week, three universities have been in the news. Columbia, for their speaker, In BC for banning the military, and one in NFLD for refusing to sanction a pro-life organization.
    With these schools on resumes, how do they make out in the real world. I wouldn’t hire anyone from any of them. Universities used to be places of learning and debate. Now they mostly are places where leftist, terrorist lovers, and socialists go to be brainwashed by professors.

  26. Jim, I’m sorry about your uncle but your logic is a problem. What you’re talking about and what happened to Shiri are two very different things. The difference, Jim, is something called MOTIVE.
    It seems that a bureaucratic oversight or mistake was made by some government employee(s), re the marking of this crossing, which ended in tragedy for your uncle and his family. (I hope they were able to claim redress for a lack of government “due diligence”.)
    In Shiri’s case, those responsible for MURDERING her took full responsibility for doing just that: that was their INTENT.
    Do you see a difference here, Jim?
    In social-emotional growth, young children have no concept of motive: only the outcome matters. E.g., Show a five or six year old a picture of a child standing by 10 broken china plates. Say that the child broke them: one tripped and dropped them. One threw them across the room in anger. Who’s going to be more in trouble? Children at this young age will probably say that both children are equally in trouble because 10 PLATES ARE BROKEN. Stuck on literal.
    That’s OK for young kids: most grow out of it.

Another uncle (26 yrs)died at the hands of a German sniper. Do I hate Germans?? No I don’t. Forgiveness cures all!!

It’s one thing when a group of have educated fully indoctrinated leftie students make asses of themselves and their school, but when university deans do what Columbia’s did, the institution can’t help buy slip down a notch or two and every time that happens the once great universities slowly sink into the manure they themselves have created. I wish I knew how we could take our universities back. Maybe if enrolement declines and donars dry up, they will get the point.

  32. Iran made it financiallly possible for Hamas to be able to blow up the bus the young girl was on. Would Hamas be able to finance its terrorist acts without the help of terrorist supporters like Iran? Unlikely; therefore, Iran is directly responsible for the death of this young woman, but Iran’s President is given the opportunity to speak at Columbia University in the U.S.A., like he actually has something intelligent to say. I’d rather have this woman’s family have the opportunity to speak at Columbia and explain to those students how it feels to bury bits and pieces of flesh and bone, presumably belonging to your deceased – I would think this would have been far more important to hear, than the words of a nutjob whose middle name is ‘Liar, Liar.’

    On the contrary, that event was a violent reaction to a previous violent act which was provoked by an earlier offense, ad infinitum. Each calamity seemingly makes another only more likely. However, in an effort to expunge the moral complexity and your own hypocrisy, you create an arbitrary nativity to these matters. I believe that is what the worst of the Muslims do as well. Do not confuse my dislike of you with any affection for them.

    Mark Steyn has commented on this form of mental illness on several occassions when he refers to the popular depiction of 9/11 as some kind of tragedy that happened, you know like a tornado or tsunami.
    We see other manifestations of this mental illness when we hear the UN predicting the huge “migrations” that are going to occur over the next few decades. Again, as natural events, likes waves washing up on the beach.
    I’m guessing Jim is well under 40, maybe under 30, but with a mental age of 6.
    And as to that other form of mental illness manifested on this thread — the “cycle of violence” fallacy. Sorry. There is always a starting point. The starting point of the dead girl’s story is the genocidal hatred of Jews in the Koran and the attempt of the Arabs to destroy Israel in 1948. And they cannot process that the lowest of the people of the book, the offsrping of pigs and monkeys, beat them, and flourished. That is the source of their insanity.

It seems in my delayed response you have answered you’re own question of “hatred and name calling.” I would have thought my “pile of garbage” would be self explanatory: If so many conflicting and empassioned views create vitriolic conflict even on a chat room, what hope have the people actually armed and participating in the struggle got. You can check the transcript for examples of name calling yourself, also, for the many narrow minded opinions which are born in part from those great harbingers of hatred… ignorance and allegiance to ones own people.
    There are of course as always some fantastic comments. I didn’t want to get dragged into the specifics, as I’m sure my comments would have been lost in an ocean of plankton. I therefore wished to note a simple point, something I thought we might all agree on, surely a good way to start any debate.

    You’re the one who’s made a nasty accusation and you STILL haven’t proven your case. If you can’t hold your own in the debate–so far you haven’t–it might be a good idea to keep your comments to yourself.

Just like Israeli jets attack palestinian houses for often the sole reason that palestinians have fired rockets into israel and just like palestians blow themselves up on busses in Haifa because Israeli jets have blown up Palesitian houses the initial reasons for the conflict are sometimes forgotton.
