  4. This is exactly what I am talking about, the perpetuality of violence. Regardless of motive, bombed houses create dead innocents, many more than 1000 since 1948, I might add.
    Dead innocents, create hatred and turn ordinary people into suicide bombers and stone throwers.
    What is the difference between a suicide bomber and a F16?

    Also if anyone cares… Israel has illegally, by UN votes of 147 to 2 (US & Israel) occupied parts of Palestine for over 40 years. The security fence is also illegally built on Palestinian territory. Would any people of the world simply lie down and let another country forcible annex it’s most furtile land? The rest of the world gets the significance of all this. I wonder what makes it so difficult for us?
    Problems don’t just arise from nothing MND. There are always reasons for things. Put yourself in other people’s shoes and see it from their side.

  5. Well, I don’t think this thread was about the Arab-Israeli conflict per se. Lots of very thoughtful people — including ET — are pro-Arab, lots pro-Israeli.
    Regardless of your view on the conflict — your allocation of blame — the issue is: if you have a grievance is it acceptable to target and mass-murder innocent civilians on buses, pizza parlours and synagogues? Surely the answer is: NO.
    Regarless of your view, you MUST unequivocally denounce the deliberate, targeted murder of innocent civilians. If you don’t you lend moral support to this egregious behaviour. And you must spend some time studying Arab propaganda (taught to them by the Nazis – go to MEMRI — have a look at Pally TV, radio, and print journalism.)
    Israel does not DELIBERATELY murder innocent civilians — au contraire — they sacrifie their own soldiers in trying to minimize collateral death. Yes, when the combatant terrorists fight from their midst and hide among them, the death of innocent civilians is inevitable. The Geneva convention, however, makes it clear that this is a war crime (on the Arab side). Also, remember, the Arabs deliberately sacrifice their own innocents (sic) for propaganda purposes — what some call Pallywood. This reality is now exhaustively documented. See Lebanon, summer 2006.     Dont rule this out because he’s a Jew. He’s a liberal Jew who teaches at Harvard: Alan Dershowitz. Read his, “The Case for Israel”. It covers chapter by chapter all the hoary myths about Israeli culapbility and is not without criticism of Israel.

  6. just to say… an iranian president who denies the truth of the holecaust, denies the truth of iran pursuing nuclear bombs to obliterate israel, well is it little wonder that we should doubt his truthfulness? and that of the radical arab people… palestinians could have resettled in any number of countries their leadership have stolen the funding from sponsor states for their own benefit and left their own people to perish under tyranny and self imposed gulag conditions. interesting how there is only one democracy in the middle east that is functioning as a democracy. tyranny of whatever stripe, left right secular or religous or dictatorships only thrive on subverting freedom.

  7. Dershowitz is not just a jew he is one of the leading public defenders of Israeli policy in the world and one of the major apologisers for the Israel lobby.
    He’s the kind of person, and I’ve seen him do it, who calls you and your views anti-semetic if you criticise the Israeli government. A classic, insulting and downright immoral tactic.
    The polite critisms in his book only serve to give the impression of objectivity while his real agenda is clear for most to see.
    I sincerely hope you gleen your knowledge from a wider variety of sources than that. Jimmy Carter’s new book is apparently reasonably objective.

  8. I honestly think you would be surprised by the book. I know I was. As to his being an apologist for the “Israeli lobby” remember there’s a massive Arab-Wahhabi lobby too AND a 5th column including terrorist fronts like CAIR.
    Also let’s remember that 6 million (including 1 million Arabs!) are surrounded by maybe 300 million Arabs and Persians who want a the ME judenrein., or put less delicately, all jews dead or pushed into the sea.
    Again, I think you will be very surprised by his tone and, at least in this book, his reticence in labelling all critics of Israel anti-semitic.

It is compromised of some of the worst criminals of humanity making a complete mockery of its mission. The UN has the capacity of passing two types of resolutions, binding and non-binding. The Security Council passes binding resolutions that can be enforced with war. Non-binding resolutions are passed by the America/Israel hating two-legged rodents and is simply a documented temper tantrum. Since the UN’s inception it has passed nearly 650 non-binding resolution, approx 450 of those have been against tiny Israel. How many have been against Iran where they publicly hang gays, or how about against the other Arab/Muslim nations where they stone women to death?
    If I had my way the UN would be kicked out of the US and we’d no longer be participants in this theatre of the absurd.

    The authorities to which JM appeals are anathema to me and, I believe, to all reasonable people who have half a clue about what’s really going on. (Those who rely on the MSM for their information simply get left-wing propaganda and, if thay believe it, get brainwashed too.)
