    1. “U.K.’s coal ban is one more reason for Canada to ship natural gas to Europe.”

The UK coal ban is one more reason to let the constipated bastards freeze in the dark. God gave them coal to survive cold winters. They chose to die.

      1. @scar – “They chose to die.”

They should import more of the third world to fix the problem / #Helping

  1. If ‘British Gas owner Centrica’ had more lesbians in decision-making roles they could have run out of gas by now.

  2. And hey – Trump takes office in nine days. If they can hold-out til then, they can have all the LNG they want!

  3. @Y. Knott

Trump should hold off a little and just buy the UK like Canada.

He could go down in history as the worlds First Post-National Slumlord.

  4. I’m curious about how the greenies are going to play things this winter. EVERY year they say “this winter was the warmest one on record.” However, this year is remarkably and conclusively colder across the globe. In the UK, snow and cold have been a staple since December. In the northeast US, temps have been in the teens and twenties Fahrenheit consistently since the beginning of December. In the Southwest US, Texas is getting a half a foot of snow and temps in the twenties overnight (which is popping water pipes like popcorn).

So, the question is, do they let a year pass and keep mum of the stats….or do they just lie and do their usual song and dance with the esoteric “Warmest Winter on Record.” Rhetorical…of course the latter.

The gang greens will fudge the data.

I check the Calgary weather forecast everyday using the weather app on my iPhone and the Environment Canada website.

The current temperature on Environment Canada site is almost always 1 to 3 deg C warmer than the current temp from my iPhone app

      1. I’d trust the website before the app. But there is routinely a variation of temperatures around the city, so it’s likely no more than a variant source. There’s usually a couple of degrees between the airport and “Bow Valley” which I believe represents Chinook Mall.

The most extreme example I can recall was near 30 years ago now, we’d had a cold snap forecast to break in the morning, so when I got up I called the weather line to see how things stood. As at 8 am it was -32 at the airport, and +2 at Canada Olympic Park. I was downtown and I didn’t know whether to fish or cut bait.

    2. Environment and Tossing Virgins into Volcanoes Canada does it every year. The press release is just a template so only the year number needs to change. The usual idiot suspects believe it every time.

  5. Our experience in Spain, Portugal is central heating is not available like what most N Am expierence with gas furnaces/boilers.
Even in Tarifa, Sp we were shoes indoors, & wool whatever. Gas heating is by canister/bottle for cooktop or portable space heating.

    1. Wrong, central heating is readily available and has been installed in new builds for a good many years now. Also many flats that went without have been retrofitted with central heating.
Having said that, yes, many places still use portable propane heaters on wheels that they move around from room to room depending on where the family is hanging out.

  6. Remember the old line about ‘hauling coal to Newcastle’? It’s not so funny now is it? There’s still coal in Newcastle tho. Too bad they shut it in.

    1. Just 174 km from Newcastle is Drax where wood pellets from the BC interior and the US south east are shipped by burning high density fuel (diesel and bunker) to supply fuel to power their refitted coal plants with low density wood. Crazy is as crazy does. No mater how many windfarms they bring online to parasitize their grid, when the wind doesn’t blow, they produce nothing. Green theocracies have priorities. Passing physics exams and supplying reliable affordable energy aren’t included.

  7. c’mon, c’mon plunging temps, kill lots of them. a slow lingering fully aware death they brought on themselves.

  8. Help me out here, I’m a little slow on the maths
“Our storage is only half full. We need to build more storage”
So then your storage will only be a third or quarter full?
