Enjoy The Decline

Why Mark Carney’s Canada Isn’t the One You Live In (20 minutes) – Analysis highlighting the loss of 42,000 jobs and high unemployment rates across various regions despite government claims of growth, contrasted with the thriving US economy.

Meanwhile, in Banff… With Canada’s very economic future on the line, the prime minister is bringing his team to one of the most expensive and exclusive hotels to meet about affordability

They want to enjoy the grandeur and the $20 orange juice before Chateau Lake Louise goes broke and gets bought out by Howard Johnson’s.

    It’s good to be king!

    1. They’re actually at Fairmont Banff Springs, NOT the Chateau Lake Louise. However, that explains the sirens I’ve been hearing – 16th Avenue is being cleared to accommodate the convoys and to heck with the peons trying to get home after work.
That being said, daughter and I also took in a Fairmont resort earlier in the month, but not this one. We were at the Fairmont Hot Springs resort in the Columbia Valley in BC. Not cheap, but affordable and definitely NOT gourmet fare. But the combination of fairly gentle walking and pool time did us both good.

  2. its coming to an end. l have suspected this wd happen at some point and now its started.
aka previously LIEberals cd do all that shyt about expensive accomodations, luxury travel, favouring their supporters with lucrative contracts, skimming, the whole ball of wax that FEEDS OFF the productivity of the nation.
but with time, and NOW it is happening, the HARM that behaviour causes in the long term is coming back at them.
the current miasma with trade ‘negotiations’ has brought it to a head.
except of course, as far as LIEberal elites are concerned, well as long as there is a ‘path’ to privilege then ‘stay the course mate’ eh?
l think thats the overall dynamic happening here, its the gernerations long ‘getting accustomed to’ a certain mindset and process, underpinned by the overall prosperity and health of the Cdn economy that could previously ‘afford’ all that skimming. has come to an end. it just has to finish ‘playing out’.
at which point Carnage and his ilk will WALK AWAY with their billions (having already moved their money out of harms’ way) and the betrayed weeping liberal voters are going to be seriously SHELL SHOCKED and of course, in no condition to respond to the financial ‘nuclear bombs’ that just detonated.
ah, AH, but *try and explain to any of them what going on and get cackled at and insulted*

    1. Carney is betting on the Democrats winning the House and or the Senate on 11/3/2026 – that’s our election DAY. Many Democrat states have election WEEKS and that is why the simple Save America Act 1) proving you are an America and 2) having a photo ID is opposed by every Democrat in the Senate. Wonder why?

In any case if the Republicans pull off a miracle, whatever deal Carney could have signed a few weeks ago will be bye-bye. The world knows that Trump remembers getting dissed and played. Carney played him.

If the R’s hold the Senate and the House it will be a very fun time for those who detest Carney.

Me – having been a chief election judge in my state of Montana for 10 election cycles I know for a fact there still is massive voter fraud and election fraud. Not in my state but in the Blue States and especially in the Blue Counties with big cities. It goes all the way back (2) Centuries to Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall as well as Democrat controlled ex-slave, KKK controlled lynching states that had no Republicans for 100 years elected and put poll taxes on ex-slaves. The Democrats make your Liberals look nice.

  3. Maybe they are working overtime to confront the affordability issue, just not your affordability issue:

“More than half of the 214,000 offshore companies named in the Panama Papers were based in the British Virgin Islands. Seventy per cent of the 25,000 offshore corporations in the Paradise Papers were incorporated in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. Canadians have stashed at least $90.5 billion in these three U.K. tax havens alone” according to Statistics Canada.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent singled out the British Virgin Islands (BVI) to warn that the U.S. is actively tracking and preparing to freeze hidden assets and accounts linked to Iranian leaders and elites.

They appear to be taking money flow quite seriously; you should be proud of them.

    1. I heard a sound bite this morning that said … some IRGC members were so starved for cash that they couldn’t make their London home mortgage payments

      Let that sink in.

      1. Ooooh, wee lambs. Their financial rat lines are everywhere, but there do seem to be a concentration of them in certain geographies.

  4. Oh yes. More examples of sacrifice and self-denial from the we’re-all-in-this-together gang.

  5. Buddy said,

    “Somebody call in the co-ordinates.”

Maybe Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is considering that.
