Trump urged Iran’s military to surrender and civilians to overthrow the government amid unconfirmed reports of top officials killed.

    In recent history, these attacks typically take place at some Oh-Dark-Thirty time, under cover of darkness and likely even a New-Moon. This was done in broad daylight, and that alone speaks volumes about the confidence Trump had in the capabilities of the forces he had gathered and then committed to action.

    1. In Reagan’s time, there was broad support for the Islamic Revolution in Iran. The Shah was generally hated. An American attempt to overthrow the government might well have failed, as the people would not have been behind it. Today there’s broad support to remove the theocratic government in favour of either a secular republic or secular monarchy.

            Not all of the plans came to fruition, and the rest were replaced with better plans as time went on. But the point is the US government did a lot of thinking before Germany surrendered. They had a plan.

            But of course you pretend that the Marshall Plan was the sum total of it, thereby utterly discrediting yourself.
