Imagine the fix we’d be in if they hadn’t sent us a smarter Governor?
Yesterday an announcement changing a Tax Policy was done to save the Residential Construction Industry
From a Tax Policy that killed the Construction Industry

Yet California STILL hasn’t figured out that high taxes and oppressive regulations are why we have a housing shortage and sky high housing prices.
Nope. The supermajority leftists in this State blame … “greedy Developers”
Oh, they know Kenji!
They know!!
They have more urgent concerns!!!
Or they have figured it out and they don’t care. They are communists after all. I remember a press conference when Obama was president and he was told that a particular tax policy would bring in less revenue because people would leave, and he said he didn’t care because it was about fairness. They’re not stupid, they just have a completely different agenda than normal people.
Bill Maher mentioned he put a new fire resistant roof on his house and endured two government inspections.
For his f**king house, he lamented. Canadafornia coming? My new roof received one inspection – mine.
Such a good point though, with government creating inflation twice, by monetary policy and jacking up compliance costs. Yes, yet another example of statists using our money to solve problems they inflicted on us.
I’ve mentioned it here before … but a new water meter in the Bay Area (EBMUD) costs $50,000.00. Ohhhh silly you … that’s not the cost of the new 1-1/2” Dual-service (Fire sprinklers + domestic water) water METER! The actual water meter is about $10,000.00 … + at least another $10,000.00 to tap into the water main, and main water line … patching the street, etc. The $50k is a “capacity charge” … a “Developer Fee”.
So JUST your water hookup will be $75-100k in N.CA.
Huh? Why is housing so expensive?
“Government is a disease masquerading as its own cure” – Robert LeFevre
John ( as in toilet)
Trump gits that, and is working to fix it
Butt in toilet’s world, Trump man bad, AmIcorrect?
I agree but not on the idea that government has ownership on the needed services.
We may need a good or a service, but government should be limited and not the good or services.
That which we give jurisdiction to the government, the government will not return willingly.
When you do the service becomes secondary to ensuring the administration of said service stays intact even at the expense of getting the service.
See Canadian style healthcare
I saw a picture from the press conference with Carney, Ford and Chow. Dumb, Dumber and really, really stupid.
Reminded me of a variation of that old joke, A liberal, another liberal and a communist went to a bar…..
…jesus lad, don’t leave me hanging! Did the commie off the two libtards???
While sipping their beers the first liberal suggested he didn’t have to pay the tab because he worked for the government and everything he did was a public service. The second liberal countered with he worked for a non-profit and he was already subsidizing his salary with lower pay, therefore he should not have to pay. The communist quickly finished his beer and stood up saying “I’ll be back in a minute. I have to use the bathroom”.
If taxation were like masturbation, Canadians would be wearing bifocaled binoculars to see.
“If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”
—Ronald Reagan
Canada. Old dijinuss word meaning “where squawmen like spankings”.
you may not agree folks but what you are *actually* dealing with, with the growth of government and related issues, is the grand sum total of 100s of millions of micro decisions. ants knocking down a hill. tectonic shifts, so slow but unstoppable. it is an itegral part of the structure of government that it will grow and grow. communism is crushingly burdened by government regulating each aspect of society. the manifestation of marx’s push for ‘the new man’ fully dependent on government for housing, employment, medical care, transportation.
the phenomenon clearly not confined to socialism, in the personages of the likes of the TURDeau and his much hated lackey the gill boat. ruling by mandate. inching towards a common similar mode of administration, the end result big government. and remember, government is just *other people*.
where things are on the ideology spectrum, thats what you focus on.
My next band will be an electro group called Tech Tonic. We’ll perform in shifts…
I expect we’ll mostly play gin mills…
If you want to see how stupid it is, just look at the city of Toronto Development charges:
https://www.toronto.ca/city-government/budget-finances/city-finance/development-charges/development-charges-bylaws-rates/
And don’t forget that after paying those, which “raises” the value of your shoebox apartment by $34,900, you’ll also have to pay the misnamed “Land Transfer Tax” from both the City and the province, all of which goes into general revenue, instead of paying for title transfer… because title transfer is paid separately and costs about $1100 to $1500.
Indeed. That’s another $30 to 40K “ca-ching” on an average Trawna home.
And both Trawna and Ontario have been growing morbidly obese on the gravy from that trough since the wuhan flu sent home prices skyward…so there’ll be no way to wean the fat bastards now.
There needs to be a law that taxes can’t ever be taxed. Not taxing a tax is just common sense bit of course government has none of that stuff.
