Bush had a chance to bring the Iranians to heel after the conquest of Iraq, but inexplicably failed to press his advantage. Barack Obama was, basically, complicit in their nuclear program, to the point of famously sending them pallets of cash totaling over a billion dollars.

President Trump, on the other hand, killed General Soleimani and told other Iranian leaders that they could be next. And now they are next.

      1. I believe they are “by-products”, of the kind sold by the By Product Ward Market in Ottawa. Most markets sell pork “buy-products”, it’s better for business. The only bye-products I can think of were some remarkable upset bonspiel victories, but I don’t think pork had anything to do with them. But if you’re saying farewell with meat, pork bye-products would be the way to say it.

    I was incensed that Reagan spewed out the meaningless phrase … “I take the blame” … for the slaughter of our sitting duck (sleeping duck) Marines in a Beirut barracks. But did nothing about it. Nope. I was never a “Reagan is perfect” conservative … and he was decidedly imperfect in Lebanon … cosplaying “peacekeeper”.

  25. Just noting here my understanding is that there is a very real possibility that 72 “virgins” is a mistranslation. In whatever language from whichever writings it has been noted that there is a very strong similarity to the word for “raisins.” So 72 raisins (white raisins apparently) (highly prized at the time) has been postulated as the correct translation.
