I received a rather bizarre message from an acquaintance of mine in the Czech Republic. He considers himself to be very well informed. Here’s what he wrote:
Hey, Robert. I need to ask you a question. You’ll always be my great friend no matter what. But I’m just curious how you feel about this now.
I’m obviously talking about your clown president. I think you’ve been a supporter of him in the past, right?
As a man who has roots in Europe & lived a large part of your life in Canada, how it sounds to you what Trump says about US friends and how he treats Canada, Greenland and Europe?
Talking about annexation of Canada, about invading Greenland etc.
He’s going to ruin all the alliance partnership with his actions. He’s clearly out of his mind. Old, senile, megalomaniac, self-centered egomaniac, full of hate.
Don’t you think what’s happening in Minnesota with ICE, murders of innocent people (woman in the car), kidnapping people from their homes, arresting them for no reason…feels exactly like Germany 1938 again? I have lived in Germany, had a business in Spain, one of my daughters lives in London and she and her husband both work in “The City” for very high salaries and bonuses. Thet are a also very well connected socially, and finally a sister in Milan, Italy with similar upper class lifestyles.
I have rarely run across a “well-informed” European and that includes my highly educated family.
Example: They were all appalled at the capturing of Maduro but for the preceding 25 years didn’t give a rat’s ass about the imprisoning, shooting and torture of Venezuelans who wanted freedom. I suspect your friend is going to get a bit more bitter, and significantly more disillusioned going forward. In the Czech Republic there is a strong momentum building in the ANO party. Currently, the Prime Minister is Petr Fiala, and he, and his Spolu multi-party are described as center-right. But, really they are liberal. So liberal, in fact, that the ANO movement is making headway opposing EU climate policies and favoring tougher stances on migration. This might not be resonating with your friend. But, in time he’ll be well within the minority. It is a pure nationalist and populist movement. And, if things work out naturally without the interference the EU threw in Georgia, Germany, Austria, Poland, and Romania, then the new Prime Minister of the Czech Republic (likely populist Andrej Babiš) will sound a hell of a lot like Trump sounds.
So, take heart, Robert. If you listen closely to Trump you can read between the lines. He is saying “Greenland is unprotected and we will not allow China or Russia in there”. The rest is Trump trolling and he’s having fun. America has the strongest military in the world. In Venezuela, Iran and Greenland, Trump is reminding everyone of that fact, including the EU and NATO which could not defend themselves without the USA, let alone defend themselves against the USA.

In between my response and his second message, I went for a long walk. I could see on Telegram that he was writing the even longer response for about 45 minutes.
I actually started formulating a response in my mind. It involved a lot of questions, like:
1. If Romanians had been allowed to elect the leader of their choice, would that have made them Nazis?
2. If AfD gets democratically elected in Germany, does that mean their supporters are Nazis?
3. If Nigel Farage and his supporters get democratically elected in Britain, does that mean they are Nazis?
4. If Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives get democratically elected in Canada, does that mean that everyone who voted for them is a Nazi?
5. Do you think that biologically born men should be competing directly against biological women in sports? Riley Gaines is a well known pro-biological women in women’s sports advocate. Does that make her a Nazi?
6. What are your thoughts on Maduro being arrested? Do you think he should be returned to power in Venezuela?
7. Imagine that a bunch of criminal Albanians moved into your community. If you knew of an Albanian serial child rapist and murderer was in your apartment complex, would you inform the police he was there or would you fight against the police trying to apprehend him?
8. If the residents of Greenland democratically voted to join America, is that okay with you? Or, if they did vote to do this, would this make them stupid and possibly on the Nazi radar?
These are the questions running through my mind. But when his 2nd diatribe came through, even worse than the first, I realized it was all for naught. I am not being paid to deprogram people deeply infected with TDS. Plus, I think it’s pretty much impossible, so why should I give up my time & energy on a pointless endeavour?
I will share with you all though that a lifelong friend I know in Vancouver has a milder form of TDS. Coincidentally, like the Czech guy, he’s also a public school teacher. With this friend, I’ve actually told him that to preserve the friendship, I will no longer engage in any discussions of American politics with him. Why? Because he is soooooooo incredibly ignorant of even the basic facts. Imagine a green haired cousin who spends 8 hours a day watching CNN & MSNOW. Do you think you could have an intelligent conversation with such a person about American politics. I do not. P.S. Coincidentally, his wife is super based.
I was curious about the media set up in the Czech Republic. IOW, where your friends get their news. I was surprised by the control mechanisms in place. The public channels, stations, and outlets are subsidized the the state (just like Canada) with an added little thing that makes it worse. The Parliament installs the heads of these public outlets.
The Private media outlets are inundated by domestic corporate entities. It has been documented that said owners control the narrative in country. And, for example, they have been very pro-immigration in that cheap labor benefits their other holdings.
So, think of the Czech Republic’s media as Canada’s on steroids. Pro EU, pro immigration, pro-world economy, anti-sovereignty, anti-Trump, anti-US in general. And, that doesn’t even get into the stories they omit. Censorship is no more damaging than omission. Two peas in a pod.

I have now removed CJOB from my truck radio programming.
I imagine those with TDS derive a kind of pleasure and gratification from diatribes against the hated figure. There is no social limit on the level of loathing and invective against Trump and there is no social requirement to rationally defend the level of hatred. As you say, it is like a drug that gives pleasure while it mentally debilitates.
