Thursday On Turtle Island

Conman Carney’s Canada:  The aboriginal.   A news release from Lord Carney.  Liberal priorities.  A trip to Davos.  What are Doug Ford’s pronouns?

The Democratic Party’s America:   The perils of voluntary voting.  California’s one party government.  Democrats can’t help themselves but side with America’s enemies.

Stories You Won’t Find At Carney’s CBC:  Starmer’s Britain.  Meanwhile in France.

Your morning meme.     Another meme.

      1. Time to bring charges for Malfeasance in Office against both the political and civil workers for their incompetence.

    1. Left Calgary 12 years ago for many reasons, but a major one was the NDP Nenshi years when everything BUT city maintenance was acceptable. Social housing, homelessness, gallivanting off to third world countries was acceptable but maintenance was ignored. The floods of 2013 represent a natural occurring problem which normally happened every 7-10 years, but had not happened for 20 years. People forget and the planning department allowed homes to built on flood plains and too close to the rivers.
      I am almost 74 years old and I am so tired of stupid people.

  1. “Less than a quarter of one percent of Canadians identify as transgender or non-binary:”

    Gee, that’s terrible. How’s the Canadian Army supposed to fill its ranks! C’mon blubber douggie, get your teachers working on those kiddies!

  2. I believe they are missing the count of a yuge section of the non-binary population.
    “Men” that vote for and support the Liberal Party.

  3. From the press release…” and his first participation in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting as Prime Minister.”
    To receive his orders…

    1. Previous attendance was as the puppet string holder of the previous prime minister.

      And to make more money for his companies. Which will still occur this time.

  4. Re: Doug Ford’s pronouns;

    When I went to HS … way back in the 1970’s … we didn’t fill out invasive questionnaires. No, we had a Dean of Boys, and a Dean of Girls (and no Deans dedicated to anything in-between). Their JOB was to get to know the students … personally … by meeting and talking with us … by reviewing our records.

    To this day, I credit the Dean of Boys at my HS with “saving my life”. I confessed to him one day, that I had been living with an alcoholic single father, who couldn’t keep food in the house for his two HS age boys. So a family from the next town over had taken me in, and I had been living with them for a year and literally hitchhiking to and from school each day. That family was moving to Casper, WY … and I wanted to stay. The Dean was sympathetic, and said he’d try to help me find a place to live. Unknown to me, he stood up at his church one Sunday and told his congregation that a ‘good’ kid from his HS needed a Foster family, and a place to live and finish HS in town. A family answered the call. It was awkward as hell, but beggars can’t be choosers, so I went to live with them. It changed my life in the most profoundly positive way that I can never repay.

    No questionnaires about my pronouns, or parental failings. Nope. Just up close an up close and personal relationship, action, and problem solving. To this day, I thank Dean Bob for his intervention. His care. His compassion. I owe my life to him … and his Christian love that motivated his action.
