The brilliant, fair & balanced folks at PBS have insisted for some time that only 15% of their funding came from the federal government.
It’s thus extremely fascinating to learn today that they will be shutting down entirely.
This should be a valuable lesson to Woke Leftists that if they take public taxpayer dollars then they need to shelve their radicalism and . . . wait for it . . . and carefully & responsibly spend the money given to them by everyone, not just their rabid far-left echo chamber.
We can all dream that this serves as a template for some future non-cowardly Canadian politicians!
The fact that even the left doesn’t watch PBS any more should have woke someone up. Good riddance to bad garbage.

It had become especially unbearable after the greatest-American-that-has-ever-lived (George Floyd) died of an overdose. Nothing but racial grievance garbage 24/7. And for those time slots that weren’t devoted to Balkanizing the nation, there were fundraisers out the wazzoo. The term “good riddance” has never been more appropriately applied to the death of something.
A non-cowardly Canadian politician? That’s the kind of politicians Canadians won’t vote for. Canadians love their chickens; red, blue, orange, and rainbow.

Re leftists don’t watch PBS, NPR. Oh, they watch but they don’t and won’t pledge their own money.
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which existed to disburse federal money, will be shutting down. Affiliate stations can continue to operate but are now dependent on donations and advertising revenue. It’s only a matter of time until many of them fold the tent, particularly in areas with lower populations.
They were dependent on advertising revenue before, there have been “sponsored by” messages in PBS for about 5-6 years now. They are not “advertisements” but they do show the product for a few seconds…
I know upstate New York (the North Country) would (does?) get a lot of money from Canadians who watched – shows like Nature, Frontline and way-back-when for me, Rod and Reel, because Bill Saif was such a tool.
The Corporation for Public Propaganda will not be missed.
It’s good that it shut down now. I’m surprised they couldn’t wait it out hoping the dems take over this fall and vote for refunding. If the dems ever do take over, they will look to Canada and fund CNN, MSNOW, ABC, CBS etc to keep their propaganda outlets alive.
Great news if true. It’s hilarious reading the article that PBS proponents refer to it as unbiased and nonpartisan.
