I’m cautiously optimistic that the removal of Maduro by U.S. Special Forces will lead to a much better future for Venezuelans, who have been severely oppressed by communists for over 25 years. The talking points from the usual suspects has been interesting, mostly focused on “there should be no interference from foreign powers in places like Venezuela”. How come they’ve remained silent about such interference from countries other than America?

CBS reported on her trip to Oslo Norway for the Nobel ceremony, CNN reported that she suffered a fractured vertebrae, after the ceremony she spent recovery time not traveling, and though she’s said she wants to return to Vzla she hasn’t yet and a variety of folks saying “don’t return just yet”

          She’s 58 years old, near the time when bones start breaking for all sorts of reasons with the women folk.

      1. Why would Maduro be in the drug business when he has likely stolen billions in oil? Doesn’t make a lot of sense. I suspect he tolerated drug smuggling but so did Joe Biden. I expect Venezuela and maybe Russia are going to start convicting a lot of Americans of drug smuggling.

Venezuela’s oil and gas money isn’t enough to cover the bills to pay for their super bloated civil service, their very top heavy military, their continual food imports, to bribe officials, and to control everyone not in on the oil business. The drugs money helps, but doesn’t bring in enough to cover the above expenses either.
          95% of their exports by value is petrol, and 82% of the country lives in poverty. It’s not that they “don’t have” the exports, it’s that socialism doesn’t reward excellence in management or for the worker bees to produce anything worth selling…
          They have +300 Billion barrels of recoverable oil, yet their systems don’t produce 1 million barrels… it’s not like this is brain surgery.

      1. Jane, you make good points as to the dark side wanting to hurt the U.S. through drug imports. But a number of commentors mention that Maduto had been receiving Chinese and Russian logistical help in building offensive military infrastructure to be used against the U.S. This latter point has been underreported.

    3. New York is one of the easiest places to get a conviction on a bogus charge, as Donald Trump proved. What’s hard there is to convict a criminal friend of the Democrats, no matter how flagrantly guilty the evil bastard is.

  7. Hopefully, this will start a domino effect of regime change in corrupt Latin American countries. Now that Venezuela has fallen, Cuba’s oil supply will get be cut off, so I give them six months to a year tops. Then either Columbia or Mexico. And it’s not the governments per se that are the problem, it’s the cartels. The drug money has corrupted too many government officials. If they declare war on the cartels and root them out (along with most of the corrupt politicians), the governments may survive. But I have serious doubts that will happen.

    1. Trump’s remarks hinted as much. Columbia is on the shit list for sure, he said so. He offered help to Mexico, but she refused. He also mentioned Canada in the same sentence as Mexico, more like an annoyance that something worth an operation.

  10. The reason the media is going with this story is that they can’t go with the truth. Venezuela was doing a lot of naughty things and one of them was falling into the orbit of Chyna, keeping Cuba afloat and selling oil to people they shouldn’t have. Illegally. Some say they were the epicenter of the election fraud, and on top of that, the drugs. The media can’t get into that because they have denied all of the above.

  11. I almost forgot. The media is not really talking about the military operation. Get this: The American Forces have just plucked the despot of a narco state in the capital city, on a military base. And they left with him and his wife, under the nose of those Russian air defense systems and whatever else. It appears there were no US losses. The raid on Entebbe doesn’t even come close. That took so much balls, it’s off the scale. Not just the operators, but also those willing to take the heat, political or otherwise. That will make some people reconsider their life choice. I am sitting here with a beer and watching media heads explode.
