  1. Lol… someone should ask Canada’s greatest negotiator how the trade talks are going… in 6 months the Can-US-Mex deal is done. Perhaps when Canadian law stifles free speech (more!), dissent, and news on social medias it won’t matter any more…

  2. Why isn’t the American government investing in American rare earth mines? You know, jobs for Americans.

      1. I’m sure Brazilian miners will thank Trump.

Not sure how good a deal this is when the Brazilian President or his wacko chief judge could stop exports to the US on a whim, if they didn’t like something Trump did, like bombing Venezuela.

I would have thought that the President, the House, and the Senate would be doing much more to accelerate mining projects in the US, given the importance that both Republicans and Democrats attach to rare earth minerals, and the fact that lots of potential rare earth deposits in the US have been identified.

          Could they? Sure.

          Would they? Not a chance.

    1. They already have.

There is only one active rare earth mine in the whole of the United States. As of Friday, the Department of Defense has become the largest shareholder in the company that owns and operates it.

The Pentagon signed a long-term deal with MP Materials on Thursday to give the company hundreds of millions in investments and loans, as well as $1 billion from JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs to fund the construction of a “10X Facility” for rare earth magnet manufacturing. The DoD has also agreed to find a home for 100 percent of the magnets produced at the 10X Facility, either in defense or commercial applications.

    2. “WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation (CMEI) today announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for up to $134 million to enhance domestic supply chains for rare earth elements (REEs). Through this funding, DOE will support projects that demonstrate the commercial viability of recovering and refining REEs from unconventional feedstocks including mine tailings, e-waste, and other waste materials. These efforts will reduce America’s dependence on foreign sources, strengthen national security, and promote American energy independence.

They’re taking a ‘multi-pronged’ approach. Let China drown in their ‘rare earths’..

  3. C’mon now! Give me that good old Canadian-euroweenie squeal!”

    “THAT’S NOT FAIR !”

  4. L – Watching our American cousins benefit from a competent and patriotic “government of the people, for the people and by the people” makes me so envious. On the other hand both Alberta and Saskatchewan could do the same.

It would not be easy, but easy is overrated. Yes, accomplishing something of greatness is hard; but produces a sense of accomplishment and meaning, beyond all earthly measure. Ask the spirits of the pioneers, their tales of derring do, will inspire. Their guidebook was the Holy Bible with narratives that inspired the souls of men and women to endure and prevail.

As for Donald J. Trump’s ‘The Art of the Deal’, clearly, it’s written for alpha males and females!
As for Marxist Carnage’s (Net Zero) ‘Values’ , clearly, it’s written for beta males and females!

    1. And, we look forward to the day we can embrace our AB/SK/?? neighbors as family.. brethren.. Time will tell..

    2. And it’s a safe bet that the ladies prefer the Marlboro man over a Marxist/WEF cuck like Carney.

  5. It’s not so much the rarity of rare earths, or rare earth mining possibilities, but rather the smelting of same. This is a Canadian opportunity, but I fear I waste my breath. Carney, like Trudeau, can only see a business case when it’s gone.

    1. With Canada’s virtually untapped resources, and plentiful hydro-electric power, you could crush China’s stranglehold on rare earths, smelting, and other mining aspects in about a decade or so.. But another path was chosen, as apparently, ‘obnoxious adversary’ (mild irritant) still somehow pays the bills in Ottawa..

      1. An extremely innovative SK government could offer coal fired electricity at cost to select industries, if they were to relocate here. The NDP would have a bird, but that could be countered by noting the NDP would shutter those same mines and power stations.

  6. So it seems clear that there’s a new cold war going on between the EU and America. But what percentage of Europeans and North Americans have any clue about this? I would suspect less than 100,000.

  7. In a related story … Trump’s tariffs haven’t added ANY appreciable cost to ANYTHING I have purchased in 2025. If anything prices have gone DOWN … esp. for lumber (sorry Canada) .

Pssst … ya know why? No nation wants to lose the American consumer by jacking up prices. Esp. Communist China.

      1. The economy is doing SUPERB! Just ask The Fed … who insist that interest rates MUST remain high … to tame inflation… and/or to hurt Trump. Pick one.
