  1. My hope is that almost of the job losses and closings is concentrated in provinces of Quebec and Ontario.
They voted twice for the worst governing party in the history of Canada. Short that it will be anyways.

    1. Ontario has voted themselves into quite the predicament over the last 20 years. The province’s industrial economy relied on cheap energy. They had one of the cheapest electricity prices in North America. Then they went green, electricity prices spiked and their industrial industry advantage was lost. So they then turned to real estate, the real estate bubble ballooned to an enormous size and now the bubble is popping in places in and around Toronto.

Ontario and Ottawa tried to revive the industrial production with taxpayer subsidized EV battery plants and EV vehicle mandates but that has failed. Then they tried to rescue the real estate market with mass immigration, which is also failing. In Ontario the poverty rate is rising and the already (relatively) weak provincial GDP per capita is getting weaker. Federal and provincial government work was the last sector holding steady and that is in jeopardy as the national and Ontario economy weakens and spending must be cut.

Usually, the federal and central Canada’s go-to play is to go after Alberta to pay for central Canada’s mismanagement but Alberta is in no mood to play that game. Add in USA tariffs on the already weak industrial sector and, like I said, Ontario is in quite the predicament.

  3. Chart schmart! There’s a slight chill in the morning air these days which means selfish boomers in my neck of the woods are thumbing through travel brochures and ogling the islands.
To them Canada is doing just fine and will be still here when they get back.

I’m always reminded of guys like this whenever the conversation turns to the economy. Unbeknownst to all Canadians is that it’s all Trump’s fault.

    1. Burton … it’s really quite simple. Canada agreed to 6uild 6ack 6etter! Your country took the “opportunity” of COVID’s economic “reset” to destroy capitalism and industrialism as outmoded means of production. You’ve reimagined your Western economy.

As someone used to say … “enjoy the decline”. It’s what you voted for. Quick! Everyone get a job in the government, or selling Chinese-made solar panels.

    2. WS loses credibility. Don’t let TDS prevent you from being rational and intelligent. The portion between the dashes is BS, Kanada alone is a threat to its own economic and territorial sovereignty.

“The Liberals have used Donald Trump — who does pose a threat to Canada’s economic and territorial sovereignty — as a shield to deflect criticism of the policies that weakened Canada’s economy…”

  4. You can’t fix stupid and they’re the majority of voters in Canada.
Carney’s solution will be akin to putting a tourniquet on a neck wound.
    Shithole.

    1. It’s better or worse than that depending on your POV. Carney’s solution is closer to cutting the wound open wider.

  5. Who ever accused the land that brought you the “Elbows Up!” retards of having any intelligence?

The Lieberals and Dippers destroyed everything over the past decade. Then, just overnight, it’s all Trump’s fault. Don’t ever accuse Kanadians of intelligence or even having an average IQ above -25 ever again.

    1. Liberals and dippers destroy.
Last election dippers did a nose dive yet liberals are still able to destroy.
So it’s not liberals and dippers its liberal dipper green blockhead a-holes.
      or ldgb,A s.
A consortium of the left. different spelling same pile same stink.

      GO WEXIT

  6. When you add up all the federal, provincial and teachers union voters. we’re starting at probably more than 40% fully automatic liberal voters. They only need a handful of people who create wealth but are perhaps socially liberal to vote for them

    1. And they are all leftists, ready to vote for the promised communist utopia. With a 40% block of voters that will align with the totalitarian regime (until they can’t eat, shop or move about freely – useful idiots), it is very difficult to mobilize enough of the right against them. And on top of this, they have no moral reluctance about cheating, lying and obfuscating to get their way – by any means necessary as they demonstrate daily.

This is why government must be small and contained because it is a wild beast that must be constantly domesticated.

  7. same old same old. it STARTS with the voters and END by landing on their heads
and wallets. vote Lieberal!!!! watch a nation engage in MAiD !!!

    1. And it took a generation – 25 years – for the people to figure out that Ceausescu wasn’t going away and to remedy the situation outside of the law. We have only had 10 years of the idiot Trudeau and now Carney and the right is only starting to wake up.

        1. The right in Canada?? What a joke, slightly less stupid and less chickenshit doesn’t make you part of the right. There is no right in coward Canada. Shithole.

  8. Canada has been on a downhill slide since Trudeau the first. Canadian politics leans toward the wants and needs of the people of Quebec and Ontario where the majority of votes are.
We do not have the fairness of the Electoral College in the USA.
Elections are meaningless wrt Western Canada.
