  1. Think this is the first time I’ve heard of this! Fascinating.

The wind is strong! Just check out some windmills in high winds.

  2. I have posted previously that my working life was as a commercial interior designer, primarily working on hotels, restaurants but also some condominiums. Even though I was the “lowly” interior designer, supposedly only responsible for FFE (Furniture, finishes and equipment), the architects on one resort project used our drawings as the basis for their work as my partner and I were the only ones who had done an actual site measure of the existing resort primary building. The architects were not even aware of the Hotel Fire and Safety Act and the stairs were not to building code with respect to the rise/run ratio or the number of steps before a landing was required. I was vigilant about all of these aspects as I never wanted to be responsible for anyone’s death or accident from bad stair design.
Sadly, the bosses at the stadium construction site were more interested in the financial penalties and avoiding them. I have always found that accidents (especially car accidents) cause major time and financial delays.
