    1. You know, these guys get free fricking tap water. I have to pay for mine to be trucked in, because we do not have town water. It’s the country, right? Pipe is expensive.

I don’t mind paying for it, but I do mind hearing these guys endlessly whine that Whitey done them wrong. Seriously, you live a thousand miles from the nearest town and you’re mad because the free government water isn’t as nice as it could be? Get over it.

I often wonder how long all these guys would last if the White Man just apologized for bothering them and LEFT. Jumped in the truck and drove away, back to White Man territory. “Yeah, you’re an independent nation, bro. Enjoy.” You think a whole week before they called up the White Man because they couldn’t find the TV remote?

      1. Agreed. Isn’t this what they want? To be left alone to practice their “ancient” lifestyles and medicines? What kind of water did they drink BEFORE the white man arrived? Ohhhhh yeah … we’ve polluted all their water. I expect the … more evolved … FN’s people’s all have the genes that allow them to drink water with giardia in it.

        1. Ever since the beaver and moose urine was eliminated, the water no longer had any taste.

          /s.

      2. Phantom, I hear that.
I lived on 40 acres east of Edmonton for 18 years, where the water was bad,
I had a 1,500 gallon cistern and paid fat money for water trucking.
I worked, paid a water truck guy, and we all made it work, including my rural neighbors.
I am sick and tired of hearing about this shite.
Use your gazillions of guilt money and fix your water issues, even if you need to hire some old white guys with know how to git R done.
        Sheesh!

  1. Maybe they should take some of the billions they receive and fix their water treatment?

    1. It has been fixed a million times. They keep breaking it. On purpose.

Water treatment isn’t rocket surgery, right? Put a filter on there every couple of months, keep the chlorine hopper full, don’t put the outhouse next to the water intake. Basic.

Ever wonder why they can’t keep a water treatment plant going on a northern river that’s already clean? The answer is vandalism.

Or neglect, straight up. If you don’t add the chlorine, and you don’t keep the pumps oiled, you don’t fill up the fuel tank on the generator, oh well…

      1. Yep. Knew an old retired plumber that got paid very well to go to the rez to train them how to upkeep water treatment, boilers etc. Needless to say it was a contract with no end. No interest in maintaining vital systems. Something that should last 15 years might make it 6 months.

      2. Ever wonder why they can’t keep a water treatment plant going on a northern river that’s already clean?

‘Cause nobody bothers putting in a maintenance contract for the WTP when it’s constructed. Period.

        1. I find it fascinating that these guys work on their trucks and snowmobiles no problem, but somehow the much simpler water systems are always broken. Nobody in the whole reserve can put a wrench on the thing when it packs up?

You gotta fly an expert technician in from Toronto. Six times a year. And a cop to make sure the townies don’t f- the technician up while he’s there…

  2. Cue a tom-tom and background Hey-ya Hey-ya chants:

“When we were stewards of the land our water was pure and clean. And then along came the white man …..”

  3. speaking of native issues did l share my latest joke?
anthropologists have finally convincingly uncovered the very first

means ‘Land of the Stolen Bicycle’ lol

lawyers say cops dont know the law

  4. Pierre’s insensitively named White Paper that was rejected by the poverty pimps (nobility and elected chiefs) was and still is the only peaceful solution to this issue.

  5. Every village in Alberta runs a water system. Filter the turds out of it and apply chlorine. Too many turds – use more chlorine. It ain’t rocket science. Why don’t the reserves just contract with the closest town or village to supply water? Or contract with a private company to supply water. The water systems fail because they want them to fail. Considering most reserves get federal grants worth tens of millions, just hire some white guys for a million and they will have more clean water than they could ever dream of.

  6. Children need to be taught that work is essential to life. Paying people not to work kills that lesson. The First Nations are largely children that have never been taught how to work, and because they are provided with almost everything needed in modern society for free, they will never learn how to be responsible citizens. That which is rewarded is repeated.
