  1. Import the 3rd world … become the 3rd world.

What’s so bloody difficult to understand about that? And since EVERYONE understands that … then WHY are our Western nations doing this? What is the TRUE motivation for flooding our nations with … incompatibles?

  2. Is self defence legal in Canada now?
    Who knew?
Maybe only in Scarborough for immigrants.
    But not for farmers.

  3. My only question for this issue is, we’re a common law country, does this apply to rough areas of Calgary, or perhaps to driving through East Hastings area of Vancouver? I don’t think it should apply only to certain areas of southern Ontario.

If I “may be” traveling through some of the rougher areas, that is areas which “may” remind me of Iraq, that’ll be ok right? I mean it’s not like I’m going to be parachuting into the rougher areas, then returning home via “jet pack” so I’ll need to be concealed carrying again on my way home .. (in the above news article it was cited as the reason the charged man felt this was his best option, it reminded him of growing up in Iraq).

For the record, I grew up in Regina (the city which rhymes with fun) Sask, and really there is little in Calgary which reminds me of Regina but it does have its moments…

*How many acquittals are required for a jury to overturn this rule, and not have to be permitted to protect myself? Or that the overseers in gov’t won’t continue to try to make everyone a lesson in compliance? Paging the dead Order of Canada member and hero to the CBC, Dr. Henry Morgantaler.

If the tier 2 gov’t of Canada can’t gain a conviction, it’s worth asking again and again until …

    1. “Paging the dead Order of Canada member and hero to the CBC, Dr. Henry Morgantaler.”

This award to this person for the reason given, is why my home country of Canada is dead to me.

You’d think a Polish born Jew would know mass murder of the innocent is wrong.

“In 1989, Morgentaler received the “Maggie” Award, the highest honour of the Planned Parenthood Federation, in tribute to their founder, Margaret Sanger.” (Wikipedia)

An award named after a racist geneticist…..

      1. One of many reasons for me…
I mention him only as an example of someone doing something which was plainly against the law, the prosecution couldn’t get a conviction, he was entitled to a trial by jury as all citizens are, and the gov’t folded. We’ll see if the gov’t gives up after a few more juries find not guilty on this sort of gun charge.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the SCOC waded in and re-wrote a law for this..

  4. Come for the healthcare; stay for the lifestyle.
I hope they gave him back his gun.

  5. “…also found the man not guilty of reckless discharge of a firearm that resulted in his brother being shot.”

  6. Did the judge botch the instructions or will the crown find another reason to appeal?

  7. Cool. Precedent for illegal concealed carry and shooting in self-defence.
