Here’s a union supporting a right-wing government’s move to rebuild its coal fleet. It has everything to do with the left wing wants their industry to disappear, and the SaskParty is moving to keep it going for decades to come. Interesting, that. As in the musical Hamilton – The World Turned Upside Down.
“Saskatchewan’s leadership in asserting provincial jurisdiction over its energy future deserves recognition. While the federal mandate to phase out coal-fired electricity by 2030 posed existential threats to entire communities, this new direction offers hope and continuity.”
I’ll have a more in-depth interview with the union in coming days, as well as a similar story from the other union involved, and a similar tale.

Dig Baby Dig!!!
And Brian … my musical response to that big beautiful dragline …

One of my favorites from a supremely talented man.
As a former pipeliner, this is my theme song. And it’s true. My (step) daddy worked construction. My cousins, too. They got me in the union. I paid my dues.

Sweet tune! And in dead serious honesty … much respect to everyone in all construction industries. I continue to be blown away by the amazing skills and knowledge by tradesmen who work in ever more specialized trades.
I give you stick, Brian, but I can tell your heart and mind is in the right place. 🙂
Hey Kenji, how about this song which praises labor and industry, also the majesty of the Canada that was:

A rich target enviornment for musical genius! Good ones. But the punctuation mark rests with Styx.

Tommy, Tommy, Tommy … what a TALENT … and proper nice dude.
Pssst … Brian! You were supposed to be impressed that this city slicker even knows what a dragline is. I can confidently estimate that 97% of the people living here in the SF Bay Area would call it a crane … or something …
Thank you for doing this Brian Zinchuk. I will be following this & the AB Govt. plans. To me this is the Prov’s. slapping the Lieberal Govt. face. I have been an advocate for AB’s separation since 2004 from Canada when R. Kline announced his retirement.
The government of Saskatchewan has been embracing the power of No quite a bit over the last year. No, we’re not shutting down coal fired power plants, No, we’re not going to charge the federal retail carbon tax on home heating anymore. No, we’re not going to charge the industrial carbon tax on businesses anymore. No, we’re not going to allow to the arbritary “buyback” (confiscation) of firearms from legal owners.
More provinces should start saying No to Ottawa instead of holding endless meetings that accomplish nothing. Initially there was lots of bark and bluster from the federal government when the province started to refuse to implement or continue with federal legislation. Now, the refusals are just quietly ignored by Ottawa. I assume that’s because the federal government doesn’t really want to battle with western prairie provinces beyond the occasional war of words.
… and then move on to JUST SAYING NO … to unchecked immigration, err invasion of your nation.
I just told Paul Joseph Watson to stop blaming the USA for Britain’s immigration problem (middle eastern refugees) … and to just say NO! Like Poland does … to unchecked immigration of incompatible foreigners. We are being INVADED. Time for it to STOP.
Uh oh, Brian !! Trump’s “illegal” bombing of Iran is actually DEPRESSING oil prices !??
What’s up with that?? I thought a “reckless” Trump was creating havoc in the world markets??
https://oilprice.com/oil-price-charts/
I wonder how many poor suckers are still holding the $77 contracts from last Thursday, now that the action has played out, and the benchmarks are down $10 on average.
I’m utterly gobsmacked oil prices went down. I told my kids on the weekend to fuel up their trucks, because I expected gasoline prices to go up 20 cents per litres. I really, really, do not understand what’s going on with prices.
And while my oil stocks may slide a bit today … ALL other Market indices are UP! Thank you Trump Tariff Tantrum tossers. WINNING!!

The “governed” must agree to be “governed”. The best tactic is to ignore dictates from Ottawa that interfere with provincial jurisdiction and desires and tell Ottawa to get stuffed.
Husky was in Lloyd before the upgrader.
Ag sector prominent then with many small farms and many more people working it, grain handling, and related services. 1/2 way point Saskatoon-Edmonton Hwy16. Upgrader on Sask side, so AB had to abandon share.
Then came canola crushing plant, ethanol plant. Rail oil shipping.
From about 6,500 people in the mid 1960’s to present day, symbiosis of industries.
Universal Industries became Foremost, from O&G, now includes Ag product storage tanks.
The Union finally realized that the NDP is primarily run by government unions who have no interest in people who do work?
