Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

If Carney had any integrity, he’d call an election tomorrow morning, should he become leader, to legitimize his elevation to the PM’s job. But since we already know he doesn’t have a shred of integrity, your guess as to what he’ll do is as good as mine.
We know d@mn well he’s going to hold off on that election as long as he possibly can, and gobble up as much goodies as he can in the meantime. Lots of Wagu beef state dinners and visits to the King and so forth, you know.
Will Parliament be recalled before October? I strongly doubt it. Too much danger of their vassals the NDPee turning on them.
If Parliament is not recalled they run out of money on March 31.
If you’re saying that Jagmeet will hop into bed with the Liberals, you may be correct.
“If you’re saying that Jagmeet will hop into bed with the Liberals, you may be correct.”
With cheeks bared.
I remember that FUDD trying to belittle me for linking to an article from this website on X. Basically said my argument wasn’t relevant because my sources website had a ridiculous name according to her.
At the very least you’d think that a new PM would reconvene Parliament… What is this Yank missing here?
It should be back tomorrow, but I don’t know if its even scheduled yet.
Blarney can’t do anything in there, but sit in the visitors gallery as he’s not a member of parliament.
And Juthtin Weirdeau has to resign.
“And Juthtin Weirdeau has to resign.”
Does he, though?
Isn’t there a “transition period” thing to go through, where they pretend #ShinyPony is still running the show while #CarkMarney reads all the papers and signs all the forms?
I bet they could keep that transition BS going until October at least.
https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/canada-unelected-prime-ministers
It’s going to be like having two assholes.
“I bet they could keep that transition BS going until October at least.”
Turdeau will be gone within a week. Parliament must be recalled in a reasonable time to prove Carnage has the confidence of the House. As someone else pointed out, in the current circumstances, a budget also must be passed. If a non-confidence vote passes or the budget is rejected then an election must be called. That’s where Jagmeet whores himself out and keeps things going.
Trudeau won’t resign. He’ll stay on salary, but won’t show up at parliament. Bank on it.
He’s now the ultimate Slavktivist!
But that .044% are better than all the rest of us dirty plebes combined, dontchaknow.
More votes were disqualified than will be counted.
I think there’ll be lawsuits after, as this looks like “easy picking” to win a suit.
Ruby still hasn’t been refunded yet…
A lawsuit about democracy in Canada? Against Liberals?
This is what post national states look like ..get used to it . It’s taken 70 odd years to get here , but here we are . Canadians have voted for this going back to L B P and now they are living with the consequences . Did anyone in their right mind think this day was not coming . The US of A will never play nice with a cabal of globalist shills north of 49 .
Not with DJT in office. But once the Dims are back in, we’ll quickly assume the position.
cana-da! is a satellite vassal of the chicoms
Silly Canadians actually believed the media that there was a leadership race.
This is not a legitimate government. Period.
Will there need to be a by-election somewhere if Mr. Carney is selected to
lead the LPC ?
I doubt there will be a by-election. It is 7 months to the scheduled election. I suspect he will avoid the risk of a by-election. He could always appoint himself a senator and rule from the Senate.
Not to change the topic, but have you guys seen the absolute nonsense that’s going on in Romania right now? The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) pulled Georgescu from the ballot. They claimed his candidacy application wasn’t filled out properly and won’t allow him to resubmit. But, that’s not all. The rumor (so far not hitting the press yet) is that his political opponents and the EU/CIA are trying to initiate a Treason case against him. For those not up to speed, Georgescu is a nationalist leader who pulled out a surprise victory of the first ballot of their leadership race…which was promptly voided by the Romanian Courts (because the right person didn’t have the lead). They blamed social media for his popularity, and for some reason that’s anti-democracy.
Can you say, Powder Keg? Sure, I knew you could. Watch Romania. It’s about to get hot.
Rumour has it that Georgescu was deliberately promoted as the lunatic fringe candidate to make the colourless globalist candidate look good in comparison, and that the powers that be panicked when Georgescu got to the second round with a good chance of winning.
The same trick backfired when the US Democrats with bylines prompted Trump, he being the only Republican candidate they thought Hillary Clinton could beat.
The difference was that Stateside, simply ignoring the result of a presidential election wasn’t an option. Trump supporters were too heavily armed for that.
Look Orson, Rumania is a Democracy; any problems? 🙂
I had to look it up to clarify the tweet that heads this. From the wiki entry on how the vote is counted:
“Votes will be weighted, with each electoral district being allocated 100 points, and with points in a district allocated in proportion to each candidate by the number of first-preference votes received.
To win, 17,151 points are required.[80] If no candidate receives a majority of points on the first count, the candidate with the fewest points will be eliminated and their votes will be distributed in each electoral district among the remaining leadership contestants according to the next preference indicated. This process would then continue until one candidate has received a majority of point.”
How Tracy got her number of votes (if she is not misspeaking and means points) is not clear to me; although this underlines how their system is open to being gamed. A small investment in buying memberships that vote in thinly populated ridings could garner an outsized result on the points board where these count.
The wild card is that if the three “other” candidates can collectively force a second and third re-count, there is at least the possibility of an “anybody but” winner. Which would be very Canadian.
I would waste a lot of time on this scenario though. The attention that the hidden hand of the party apparatus is paying to “verifying” their voters tells me that the fix is in, and the coronation tonight will be smooth.
But wait until tomorrow. There will be fallout. First in the Liberal ranks as they “transition” to the un-elected heir apparent; Trudeau may utter sweet nothings about his departure, but getting him out the door will be a struggle. Then how and when they deal with having left the country ungoverned and without a budget when the only cure is an election NOW will come to a head.
Overlaid on this is that the spin cycle has been dominated by people whose heads have come unglued over the issue of the US imposing US taxes on US importers, paid to Washington; the impact of which on Canada is, if irritating, relatively minor in the short run.
Far more serious and dangerous is the rudderless pandering to this for political gain by various vested interests here in Canada; particularly the Liberal idea that Canadian taxes on Canadian importers, paid to Ottawa are an appropriate answer. Even more frightening is the idea of stepping into constitutionally uncharted territory and prohibiting certain exports; breaking commercial contracts and doing real harm to producers in Canada and consumers in both countries. An example to me of how Trudeau and company have become so comfortable with “wedge” politics that they see them as a normal mode of governance.
Hence the effort to frame the election as a question of standing up to the United States. However, the questions that Canadians want and need to address are about who should govern Canada; and until we get our own house in order the issue of dealing with Washington is hanging in the balance.
The growing conclusion has been that the one certainty is that the Liberals have failed at governing the country. And, I might ad, at every effort they have made to promote Canada to any and every other country in the world. They deserve to be held accountable for nine years of successive failures, serial misadventures, and gross mismanagement.
Perhaps Mr Carney can convince the electorate otherwise; but to do so he is going to have to face the voters and make his case. Until he does so, and then wins, whatever tenuous legal grounds he may have to claim to be Prime Minister, he has no moral authourity to govern nor any credibility as Canada’s leader in dealing with Mr Trump.
Liberals don’t need moral authority; they have the CBC.
What did you expect? That the globalists and their Chinese Communist friends would suffer their North American colony to be governed by someone who didn’t jump when they said hop?
Even if the “median voter” in Ontario loved her children more than she hated Trump—and by all appearances, she does not—Mark Carney would still do what Beijing told him to do, no more or less, and if the tax-, debt- and wage-slaves didn’t like it they could lump it.
It has fallen to Donald Trump to save the American Tories from themselves. Our grandchildren will remember him fondly as the first president of a free, prosperous and united North America.
Mark Carney, the shame of Fort Smith, is just the latest in a long line of puppet rulers overseeing the American Tories on behalf enemies of the United States from Bay Street to Beijing—and, God willing, he’ll be remembered as the last of his kind.
Justin Trudeau has only announced his intention to resign.
It would be hilarious if Trudeau, as his last act before signing his resignation, called an election. “Hi Mark, you and others conspired to force me out as PM, now enjoy the election campaign.”
Chrystia is coming out to sing her swan song, holding hands with her husband and father. In other words, she’s so drunk they can’t trust her to walk to the podium without falling over.
She’s #1 amongst Canadian Ontario Wine Moms.
So one of you Constitutional lawyers out there explain this to me. If Carney is appointed as leader of the Liberal party but is not a duly elected member of Parliament, thus not representing any riding in Canada he cannot sit in the House. He maybe the Liberal leader but since he is unelected he is not the PM. If he is not able to sit in the House does that mean that Justin is still the PM even though he is no longer leader of the Liberals. If Justin is no longer the recognized PM, because he resigned and Carney can not sit in the House, who can call an election or do we have to wait until October. Are we seeing a slight of hand here in Canada similar to the coronation of Harris in the States.
Yes, we are seeing a “slight” attempt at “sleight” of hand behaviour, here in Carney-da.
Just make him a senator.
He doesn’t have to have a seat in Parliament to be PM.
For example John Turner. He won the Liberal leadership on June 16, 1984, without having a seat in Parliament. He was sworn in as PM two weeks later. On July 9, PM Turner dissolved Parliament and called an election for Sept 4.
PM Mackenzie King lost his seat in the Oct 1925 election. He remained as PM, without a seat, until he won a byelection on Feb 1926.
In the June 1945 King lost his seat i the federal election, but remained as PM until he won a byelection in Aug 1945.

He actually needs zero votes. What he needs is the King of England to appoint him to the office. The PM of Canada, just like Premiers and the Governor General are APPOINTED, by the congenitaly retarded man-boy King! This is why these positions never ever appear on a ballot anywhere.
And why PP was mocked for saying that he was running for Prime Minister.
You seem to be lacking in basic Constitutional knowledge. The Prime Minister is appointed by the Governor General. The Premiers are appointed by the Lieutenant Governors of the particular province. The Governor General is selected by the Prime Minister but is the one position that is a de jure appointment of the King of Canada. The reason the appointments derive from the King are to maintain a semblance of non-partisanship. An elected Governor General has moral authority to be partisan and that’s the Prime Minister’s job. There are some republics that also appoint their president.
OMG!!! The Governor General is APPOINTED by the King of England and serves at his pleasure, full stop. For the love of God please stop making excuses for this and acknowledge your pathologic peasant syndrome. You will never advance as a nation if you fail to acknowledge your weaknesses and then seize CONTROL of the government. Utterly pathetic.
Unelected but not unselected.

At his speech tonight Trudeau said Canada will fight if it must – elbows up! he shouted. He should know, just ask a NDP frontbencher who took one in the chest.
Did he break down in tears? What a putz.
I think there will be an election announced in about a weeks time, liberals are riding there con job wave and can’t afford for the brain dead to catch on they have been had.
Jag will support Libs and new MUTT, will eventually call election, USA will be enemy. When really for over 10 years we have been carving holes in our own boat. Sinking not an if, just a when.
BUT, the elite will remain, friends and corruption continue. East Elite vs rest of country. Canada as per design.
Lord help us all. All I can say.
They tend to avoid summer elections in Canada, so I figure they’ll either call an election in six weeks or we wait for fall.
There will be an election in April or early may.
Blackface has been crying so much lately,,, because even his own political party is rejecting his main policy initiatives. Rejection of the carbon tax/rebate cheques(you get more money back than you pay in), capital gains, etc
My prediction is the general election might be in the fall of 2026, ahead of the Sept 20th dead line.
(carney will run in a by-election, in a safe seat, then govern till the later half of 2026) (maybe Freeland’s seat)
How interesting. Canada has its own Kamala-style unelected candidate.
