Global- Irving Paper shuts down 50% of N.B. operations due to electricity rates
The company said Irving Paper is a world-class manufacturer of graphic paper for use in magazines, catalogues, newspapers and advertising flyers. Over 95 per cent of Irving Paper’s annual manufacturing output, around 400,000 tonnes of paper, is exported to 65 countries.
Give ’em a big government/taxpayer gift to keep going and save jobs! Couple ‘a billion oughtta suffice.
Remember, when the new PM is selected or elected, he will spend his first weekend in office at the IRVING LODGE, where he will “meet with Canada’s business leaders”.

When I was in college I had a part time job in a printing shop in Canada that printed products for national distribution. We used newsprint which was made in Holland. Holland is word famous for its vast forests and forest industry.
Later on I worked in a pulp mill in BC. They didn’t make paper, they made pulp, which was then shipped to somewhere in Asia to be made into paper.
And then there’s ppulo for toilet paper too!

Service workers begin to think that they do not depend on manufacturers and farmers and builders (ie. people who produce), and thus fail to consider their interest might have a bearing on the lives of service workers, and start to vote for things that bite them in the ass.
