  1. Celebrating sexual perversion and deviant behavior is not something I would do. The courts and tribunals are adding to the moral degradation of Canada. They have to be shut down.

    1. Even though Trump closed the borders to several Muslim countries in his first term many Muslims voted for him this time because they see him as the antidote to the Woke movement. Christians from Africa, South America and the Philippines (missionaries to a lost West)) are also shocked by legislated attacks on their values. If Polievre shut down this aspect of the human rights commission, there would not be the electoral backlash that the MSM thinks there would be. Because, like the MSM in America, they live in their own little bubble.

    1. This is about the FEDERAL human rights legislation of 1985 and the assorted FEDERAL human rights tribunals. The expansion of the Act to cover gender identity was done by Justin Trudeau’s government in 2016.

Originally created by a Progressive Conservative government and presently under the purview of the Attorney General of the Province of Ontario who is a PC in the PC government of Doug Ford. Everything about the OHRC (its existence, mandate, funding, operation) is controlled by Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservative government.

At the time I was a municipal councilor in a small town and we passed a resolution that stated the town does not declare any days of recognition for any cause. This was when the rainbow activists were successfully suing municipalities that declared for some causes but not theirs. It’s now grown from a day to a month and along with the companion cultural Marxist pathologies of compulsory celebration of Alphabet people, gender pretense, DEI, CRT, Indigenous knowledge, anti-colonialism, ESG, anti-Islamophobia, etc and has marched through the institutions.

The bill passed, and Section 13 was repealed. It had been reported that many of the complaints were brought personally by a member of the Tribunal, who appears to have benefited financially from the Tribunal’s practice of rewarding complainants with the fines paid by those they had accused.

    Unfortunately, the Trudeau government sought to restore to the Tribunal powers taken away by the repeal of Section 13. This incident should be noted down by those advising the Leader of the Opposition. The blatant unfairness of these kangaroo courts (at both the provincial and federal levels), which has on more than one occasion has been supported by members of the Supreme Court of Canada should be examined carefully by the next Conservative government. A more clear and restrictive definition of “hate speech” should be enshrined in legislation to reflect the Canadians’ historic right to freedom of speech.

      The person you’re referring to (described as the ‘Hatefinder General’ by the esteemed Mark Steyn) was not a Tribunal member.
      He was a lawyer graduate of the McGill U. ‘Human Rights’ program initiated by Irwin Cutler.
      Cotler went on to become Justice Minister Canada (2003-2006).

      Refusal to abide by Tribunal decisions evolves into ‘Contempt of Court’, with attendant legal punishments.
      The process is the punishment.

      Especially since anyone with a grievance can launch a complaint. Their lawyers are paid for by our tax dollars, but the person they accuse must pay for their own defence out of their own pocket. In other words, you can use the government to *bankrupt* anyone you don’t like.

  24. Well , maybe maybe everyone needs to start filing Human rights complaints. If they refuse to hear them ,that is another complaint . We could easily bottleneck the system . If they don’t hear them quickly enough, thar’s another complaint. Does no good complaining here. we can overwhelm them. I am certainly offended by what they are doing. I am identified daily as a knukkledragging deplorable piece of garbage -that is clearly a breech of my human rights – it’s the new rules we need to play by.

    Multiple organizations should now of course demand that the town of Emo declare Straight pride month, and fly a straight pride flag, and when they don’t, they should file a complaint, which will promptly be rejected by the OHRT.

Boy oh boy, Ontario is one messed up place if how elected officials vote can be declared illegal and subject the elected official to fines and re-education.
    The lawyer who runs the drag show outfit declared: “As a lawyer who does this work that means I’m going to start taking people’s houses and their vehicles and their toys and draining their bank accounts and garnishing their wages because no one is going to stop behaving this way until there are real consequences”

    That’s the guy that the Ontario government is awarding money.
