Bullshit and slander machine
Go back to the day of release and read my comment. I pointed out that the entire in-house legal team at Google should be shown the door. There is the potential here for a MASSIVE Class Action Suit for libel. It is a direct result of ideologues forcing their own opinion as fact and programming that mentality into their “machine.” Their defense will be to blame the AI….but that will merely force them to prove it and give up their patent information to do so.
They weren’t concerned about legal and civil repercussions because their narcissism portrays opinion (theirs) as fact.
Will the Democrats, politicians and judges, tolerate such libel suits?
Or if they proceed, will Democrat judges find Google libel?
Final option? Judge finds Google guilty of libel and awards damages of $1.
Not that I want this to happen, but I think it might happen this way.
Oh, there will be obfuscation at the activist judicial level (with some exceptions of displayed integrity). But, that’s not the point. First of all, any public figure would have to prove malicious intent in a libel case. The defense (Google) will respond that it was an “opinion” and “response” totally manufactured by AI (and therefore cannot possibly be malicious intent). But, that’s where they have a problem, because in order to make that blanket statement, they will have to reveal the inner workings of their AI algorithms. And, the plaintiff will be in a position to lay bare just how AI is constructed. Google has been very tight lipped about their algorithms (not just relative to AI) because they invariably promote a political ideology.
There’s a gold mine of discovery that has the potential to be exposed were anyone willing to force their hand in the courtroom.
The funny part is that they are terrified of the legal consequences of misgendering somebody, or using non inclusive language, etc. Meanwhile they built an AI that is a slander machine.
All we ever seem to hear and read about these days is AI, AI this, and AI that, and we all seem to forget GIGO!
Whoever programs this garbage is deliberately introducing their own opinions and biases. We seem to be focused on the outfeed, and not the truth of the infeed. SDA is the closest I ever get to “social media”, and this AI crap is just stupid on steroids!
I would suggest all these SJW’s that program this crap grow up and face reality. Eventually it will bite them in the posterior region!
precisely.
the vagueness, the unpredictability is because obviously there are multple layers and processes within the AI that make a given outcome knowable ahead of time.
but, BUT it *still* bols down at the ‘cellular’ level to the eternal predictability of a nand gate to specific inputs. its STILL a binary device at that level. and as far as ‘quantum’ processing thats all airy fairy way too vague to be a reliable path either.
summon the liable lawyers!!!
Not only is the outcome unknowable, but the process itself is unknowable. It’s a black box operation. It may come down to specific operations on nand gates, but it isn’t known what they are.
BUT, the black box can be both front and back loaded for particular outcomes, which is done by human programmers seeking specific output to be inserted or deleted. That’s how they “fix” it, because there’s no way to fix the black box. It can only be wiped clean and started over, but with no idea how the new one will operate either.
And that means that the “fixers” are liable.
yes, correction, typo s.b. ‘unknowable’.
you get it in spades. l speak from a VERY biased position having a BSc computer science and some20 years everything from an ibm 360 to DEC 10 and all manner of desktops.
fluent in binary, decimal, hexadecimal at one point.
and ACED the hardware course where l found out about microinstructions embedded in the CPU.
at the cellular level it AINT ‘artificial intelligence’ mimicking the variability dealing with biological computers.
no no no no no. to whit if the inputs match EXACTLY and the code does NOT change then the outcome will be the same once more or 20,000 times more.
and by inputs l include ANY call to a random number as long as the function returns the SAME ‘random’ number.
no ifs ands or buts. lve held this view since ‘AI’ first mentioned to me back in late 80s freelancing in Niagara Region.
soooooo basically we see the first major release of AI reporting has matched real level of current journalism.
so why did they yank it back? why no celebration? would THAT make the bias too obvious?
Surely AI generated EVERY article just written about Caitlin Clark becoming “NCAA basketball’s all time leading scorer”.
Yes, she’s better than Pistol Pete Maravich. Better than Shaq. Better than LeBron James. My local news said she shattered both the men’s and women’s NCAA scoring record. Uh … no. No she didn’t. She set a new women’s NCAA basketball scoring record.
The record had been held by Kansas great Lynette Woodard, who scored 3,650 points. (Woodard played from 1977 to 1981, when women’s sports were governed by the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women.).
Yeah … the GREAT Lynette Woodard … right? Raise your hand if you’ve honestly EVER heard of her before. No one? Yeah … that’s what I thought. Therefore … AI News had to compare her to the truly GREAT Pistol Pete who literally transformed men’s basketball in ways that Steph (hmmm a girls name?) Curry could only dream.
But in this Brave New era of “Trans” athletes shattering women’s sports records … well then … the old lines de marking differences between men’s and women’s basketball MUST be ERASED. Wake me up when the next great female basketball shooter is recruited by coach K …
AI programs that outright lie is not something I saw coming, despite having watched 2001: A Space Odyssey. Did it lie because it was truly confused, or because it was trying to “do good”?
It “lied” because it didn’t know it was lying. It doesn’t even know what a lie is.
Garbage IN the brains of every Google employee …
Garbage OUT the AI mouth of Gemini.
