In what might be the greatest troll of all time, Trump should post a poll on X.com and TruthSocial.com, asking people to choose from a list of names to replace Lake Ontario. I think “Lake Trudeau” should be at the top of the list. Not because I’d ever want this, but rather that it would cause the minds of the Elbows Up crowd into such cognitive dissonance that they may never recover.
For extra trolling fun … if you translate “Ontario” phonetically into modern Cree Syllabics today, it would look like ᐊᓐᑎᐅᕆᐤ (An-ti-o-ri-o). So I propose “Lake ᐊᓐᑎᐅᕆᐤ” as the second name on Trump’s poll.

Well now, rating of very good humorous insults to a idiot leadership leading Canada into a deep pile of shit, it’s rated an AAA+++. Lets see what Conman Carney response will be.
The underlying purpose of this is deeper than just ribbing Ford in response to his comments. In truth, it’s a leverage builder. Trump (or his advisors) want to gin up the animosity of the “elbows up” crowd. Carney is already in a position of weakness, and now he has to start considering his political future. By antagonizing Carney’s biggest support base any capitulation on Carney’s part is going to damage his political status. Any hardline taken by Carney to appease the frothing supporters is going to trigger the termination of the USMCA.
The CBC knows this. That’s why they made a half-assed effort a few weeks ago to give Carney political cover by all of a sudden realizing that Canada was in a weak negotiating position. They paraded out their “experts” and all had the same message. “We’re in a bad place, and we may need to back down.” Then there was the walk away by Carney, and the subsequent running to the press to explain his position. You didn’t see Trump anywhere near the cameras talking about the negotiations. He was sitting back letting Carney flail in the press.
Now, Trump is making Carney’s political future uncertain because he has no good options. I suspect that the six month termination notice on the USMCA is going to trigger pretty shortly. And, then there will be negotiations on a bi-lateral basis, and just see if the final result of those negotiations doesn’t match up with what was on the table a few days ago.
Canada might be even welcoming to changing it back to Lake Iroquois.
