A great start by the UCP in Alberta, but with one glaring omission.

MAGA!!! Make Alberta Great Again.
Canada’s Constitution isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. It omits important rights like property rights. It allows the government to easily override any rights it supposedly guarantees, as shown during covid and the freedom convoy. As such, Canadians have government granted privileges not true rights.
Since the Canadian Constitution is almost impossible to amend, a strengthening of individual rights at the provincial level is the next best option. As an example, we saw Saskatchewan make it all but impossible for the Trudeau Liberal-NDP government to succeed at implementing the so-called mandatory buy-backs (confiscation) of legally owned firearms in Saskatchewan.
A combination of stronger provincial commitment to individual rights and becoming increasingly ungovernable at the provincial level seems to be the only defense against an oppressive federal government and federal bureaucracy.
They’re going to need F-15s and nuclear weapons if they’re going to take on the Federal Government.
If push comes to shove, just need to cut a deal with the US and they’ll be available.
I’d hire BLM.
Everybody takes a knee.
Everybody.
There’s big difference between civil disobedience and civil war. What prairie provinces are engaging in is civil disobedience. Gumming up the engine of the federal government until central and eastern Canada voters pull their heads out of their ass and stop voting for the federal Liberal Party.
OTOH, their myopic vision of Canada that can’t see anything beyond Ontario’s western border, has been a gift to prairie separatists.
They can’t see anything West of highway 7.
The Afghans did not need F-15s and nukes to defeat Russia or the USA. To assume that weapons equal to that of those you have to fight is necessary is to not think creatively.
America did not have the firepower or man power equal to England but…
VOWG – Great point. That should have been the response to Biden when he said firearms can’t defeat fighter jets. The Afghans didn’t have jets when they defeated you. But thanks to you they do now. Disarm Americans, and arm your enemies. Great strategy Joe.
Biden also left 81Billion dollars in weapons to now be used on Israeli & US troops throughout the Middle East.
Guaranteed the “top of the line technology” has already been reverse engineered in Iran & China by now.
… but they had an ocean in between them and England and a major European power interested in helping them fight against England.
You obviously know nothing about military action.
I seem to recall a few hundred hillbilly Afghanistan fighters, with bolt action rifles and an aptitude of disassembling unexploded ordinance put the run on the Soviets, The US and historically everyone else that tried to invade. And not an F15 to be found.
A weekend excursion by the South Dakota National Guard should suffice.
Boy, the pinko commies like Notley are gonna shit wooden doorknob-like turds.
How dare commoners determine what the benevolent State can only grant…
Pedo-globalist supporters like Colonista will shit the whole door.
My wife read out a bunch of the proposals last night, after which my 14 year old son responded, “who could possibly be against that? It’s just common sense!”
Well, hopefully if these are implemented, it will drive out the freedom hating communists. Combined with the Sovereignty Act, these proposals lay down a clear marker for provincial autonomy. We moved to Alberta from Ontario last year, in part, to help make this happen. We promptly signed up with, and donated to, Take Back Alberta, the movement largely responsible for steering the UCP’s policy direction at this convention. TBA arose as a response to Kenney’s weak kneed conservatism and the disgusting rights abuses of the last 3 years.
Every true Albertan conservative should make a point of supporting TBA, as that is where we can truly influence the party and hold them accountable.
All the best & Good Luck!
Whats those weapons storage areas called?
Wainwright and Cold Lake..?
The Pendulum is swinging, because thats human nature.
We slid into “trust of Government”,which ,as always, was abused by petty men and now we are passing through institutional malaise.
Our Uni-Party will not surrender power easily, for their crimes are too many.
Their fear of retribution too extreme.
Funnily enough, their desperation will create the very things they most fear.
The Province’s elected leaders finally have recognized the nature of Ottawa, well that and the fact they face lynching in their power base if they do the standard sellout so favoured of Political Careerists.
The West can no longer deny nor tolerate the destructive ideologies of Can Ahh Duh..
Facing poverty, the certainty of freezing in the dark, while surrounded by bountiful resources..
To serve a religious death-cults ideals..tends to aggravate sensible folk.
Gang Green is a cancer on civilization.
The future we face ,under the guidance of Ottawa, is no future at all.
They have declared war on the Dream.
That by hard work and clever planning any citizen might prosper and leave their children a better starting point than they had..is dead .
Dead by Tax.
Dead by Regulation.
Dead by theft.
The message from our Political Leadership,to any citizen with some get up and go (and ethics) .Is to get up and go.
From Canada.
Nice to see our local politicians stand up to such an unacceptable bunch of creeps and perverts.
Let us see how long these newly discovered spines last.
South of the 49th, in Canada, seems to be a lost cause, for actual Makers of Goods.
Taking ,as shown by our Urban Voters,is the national past time.
The Takers out vote the Makers.
Nationally.
Provincially it is still a toss up.
As the heading says..
Property Rights.
Until they are protected, theft by Government will remain the Law of The Land.
All Hail the Kleptocracy.
John, the Canadian government can’t keep planes in the air, vessels on the water and troops well armed. For people to discuss violence at this point is meaningless. Refuse to cooperate with any of the feds insanity and make them come to you and still refuse. Never give up your guns, never ever again bow down to government as they did during the “covid” fraud, and never stop telling the truth.
VOWG.
Yup.
Violence will come from Ottawa.
Not from the citizens,at first.
It is impossible to negotiate with fools who do not understand “No”.
These fools and bandits will never leave us alone.
We have their actions as proof.
Bang on my friend.
Do Not Comply is my motto…
And so it shall remain..
True JR though don’t expect Ottawa / WEF etc to not respond by flooding the prairie provinces with unrestricted 3rd world immigration in order to dilute the conservative vote.
Spell that as ‘more free stuff ‘, policy reversals and proxy premiers.
If we cancel welfare above the local, municipal, level in Alberta and use a real criteria to measure “Skills”,the winters will be our natural ally against the Free Stuff Army.
Well yes and no John.
The other side of that problem is the entrenched progressive bureaucracy that operates at odds to the incumbent party by various nefarious means as I’m sure most readers here know.
One can never be safe in believing the city gates are secure when there are countless inside traitors out there just waiting for the midnight opportunity to cast open those gates for idealogical zealotry or promised reward.
Never underestimate your opponents.
No….. a complete divorce appears as the best guarantee that policy will stand a chance.
What Alberta should do now…??
Disenfranchise PUBLIC SERVICE UNIONS…and ship Gil McGowan to Venezuela, along with his buddy, Rachel….1 way plane tickets with no landing rights…
….c ya.
I was shocked, yet not surprised, that all but one of the AHS board members were affiliated with the NDP. I would love to see Smith axe the lot of them. Think the commies would hesitate for a second to do likewise?
Smith needs to make sure her policies are fully implemented by the civil service. They’ve demonstrated they are ideologically biased federally and no doubt the same exists at the provincial level. Smith needs to be unwavering and unapologetic in exercising her power. The resolutions from the convention should guide and reinforce the mandate she was given by her supporters.
Right to bear arms is meaningless as long as the central government can determine what arms are available to you.
So unless AR’s are going to be sold again . . .
You’re right, without the right to property, the others become inferior. But, of course, never forget that the only way to guarantee your rights is to exercise them.
A lot of this might not have been necessary so quickly had Ottawa (mostly Liberals) respected the fact that Canada was formed as a Confederation, with the Provinces calling the shots within their boundaries, and not a Federation whete Ottawa calls most of the shots for everyone. Look how the Feds meddles with Health Care, a Provincial responibiliy. Look at day care, etc.
Anyone remember Lineral Federal musings about doing an end run on Provincial Goverments by entering into agreements with Cities (most are socialist run)?
Agrred, property rights are extremely important, a right deliberately omitted by the Premier signatories at the time, Lawyers all, and none with a mandate from the citizens.
Why do the Conservatives in Alberta hate school choice?
That was proposition #19 that was defeated. The government schools in Canada are run by the same Communists as US public schools and we in America now have 10 states where the money follows the student. Alberta needs to change that one. Another generation of useless government school brainwashed kids is not in the province’s best interests.
Anyone here have any idea why it was defeated?
Yeah… I was there. The reason it was defeated was that 3 categories of education, home school, charter and private were deleted from the policy already in place. The proposed #19 seemed to relate to only a traditional school setting, thus it was defeated. Looked good until you read the details.
Probably off-topic, but then again…
I’d like to say that I just returned from a shopping trip at a local coop. Having recently arrived from Ottawa, my jaw dropped when I saw the prices marked on the shelves.
If you’re wondering why there isn’t so much grief coming from Ontario, Quebec, and maybe the Maritimes regarding inflation and the weekly grocery bill, it’s probably because people in cities in Eastern Canada are paying HALF of what you guys are paying for here in groceries!
Prices in lie-beral ridings are kept artificially low, and the big supermarket chains are subsidizing the lower prices in the east by jacking up the prices in the west! You guys are getting hosed. It’s just another way of Ottawa stealing from Peter to pay Paul, ie: having the west pay for Easterner’s grocery bills.
You wonder what they must have been talking about during those meetings between the feds and the major grocery chains. The west really does need to separate themselves from the corruption that is the federal government, particularly Eastern Canada. We produce, they consume, then they have the audacity to order us saying WHAT we can produce, and HOW MUCH!!!
Don’t dispair gurls. There’s never been a Premier in this country who better understands property rights than Danielle Smith. Full stop.
From the declaration:
…the right to marry and enter a civil union.
Why would anybody want to do that to themselves? Br careful what you wish for!
