He Admires Their Basic Dictatorship

More: The Trudeau Grocery Gaffe

The numbers are in, and they’re staggering! Ladies and gentlemen, buckle up for this next gem. Are you ready? The cumulative inflation for your food from December 2021 to June 2023 is, brace yourself, a staggering 18.2%. That’s right, in less then three years nearly one-fifth of your money’s buying power has evaporated, just like that! Poof! But here’s the kicker: Trudeau had this very data in his hands in a report by the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food — a report that he commissioned since last June. And yet, what does he do? Yesterday, almost four months after the report was published – opts for the political theatrics of summoning grocery CEOs and flirting with the tax hammer.

Don Martin is scathing a reality of sorts finally got through to Trudeau this week at the Liberal caucus retreat.

  1. “…his home village … wants him back…”

Guaranteed, his home village’s replacement ‘idiot’ will be a nicer more sensible person of ininitely better character, and the villagers wouldn’t want him back.

Maybe China or north Korea could use xim…?

  2. Good article, but by another non-math journalist.

“The cumulative inflation for your food from December 2021 to June 2023 is, brace yourself, a staggering 18.2%. That’s right, in less then three years nearly one-fifth of your money’s buying power has evaporated, ”

December 2021 to June 2023 is only 19 months. A year and a half. A long way from “less than three years.” That makes the 18.2% inflation TWICE AS BAD.

  3. Interesting to note in Knight’s article that Canada apparently prohibits foreign grocery chains from setting up shop here. Kind of like the airlines and telecom industries with all the predictable consequences.

  4. Oh, and there’s THIS. Again, our much vaunted “National Champions” (and political contributors seeking to maintain the status quo)

  5. Loblaws should fight back, explaining that their profits are always between 1-3% on their investments, after they’ve paid + 25% to the various levels of government.

Perhaps the #Libranos will force them to break up divisions. Then we’ll be stuck with the tier 2 food marts like Safeway and Sobeys and everyone will then ask why their food costs have taken another 20% jump in costs?

  6. Shrug. They’ll (Grocery queens) go through the motions. They’re turdo’s peoplekind, not ours. And if they throw up any kind of resistance, it won’t be because they have decided to finally show some honour and ethics, but rather, because they will have figured that doing so would be politically/economically advantageous.

  7. *** DISCLAIMER; I AM NOT NOW NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN A DIPPER ***
The only way out of this mess is to donate money to the NDP for their election costs.
    I’m not saying vote NDP!
They can’t afford an election because socialists only spend other people’s money and the unions in Canada have been on the decline for decades so they don’t automatically get a bunch of money from them anymore. People who vote NDP don’t give money to the NDP. It’s up to us.
Until they think they have enough money to run an election, the NDP will prop up Justin.
If he introduced a new budget with a bunch of election money for the NDP, they’d stop supporting sock boy as soon as it passed.
So, give money to the NDP.
As dumb as that sounds, I think it’s the only chance for an election before the next mandated election date.

  8. Justin to galen

So how are all those freezers we bought for you working out, those should reduce the carbon and save the environment.

  9. Our? government is responsible for the inflation.. Spending, regulations and taxes galore.. And as the bubble grows larger so will the profits they make.. The whole food chain is playing with big money now.. Profits are a %.. A 30% take only grows with inflation.. Same value, more money.. This is a insult?..

of them. Other parasites, crazy with boundless greed, actually kill their host.
Trudeau et his clan of thugs are type 2.

  11. That WEFtard piece of crap needs to be voted off the planet.
And that 18 month cumulative inflation number is for sure way more than 18%. That’s just a pretend number.
De-index all federal pensions immediately, and then see how quick this’ll get fixed.
