This is intentional: part of the “nudge” to make commercial flight so painful and expensive that the average deplorable begins turning away and the industry shrinks to accommodate only the worthy elites.
Politically cleaner than banning commercial air travel, (as they did plastic straws) There’s more than one way to skin a carbon footprint. They’re doing it to oil and gas, they’re doing it to agriculture.
Try seeing it all from 10,000 ft (while you still can).
76 minutes. This doesn’t happen in proper airports. This is not normal. pic.twitter.com/8zlbRsRDRO

Big storm blew through yesterday so it was a s*it show if you had to fly through Toronto or Montreal airports. I can see how baggage got buggered up since they’re barely efficient at the best of times. My original flight yesterday out of Moncton to Toronto got delayed to an ungodly hour and so I got switched to a flight with a connection in Montreal. Gate congestion at PET resulted in an hour and a half wait on the tarmac…long enough to miss my connection to Toronto. Line up at the counter as far as the eye could see and folks crashed out everywhere. Thankfully, someone else is paying the travel bills so I just crawled into a cab and headed for the Hilton. Three hours of Muzak later and I got rebooked on a flight home today. Just enjoying my $35 airport sammich and coffee while I wait, neck deep in French speakers, fingers crossed I make it home today.
Thanks for confirming what I always suspected. I am so done with flying… I guess that means they won.
Luggage issues aside…it’s the slog of the “hurry up and wait” and over the top checks from Pearson’s smug, Fill in third world shit hole language here:__________ speaking security personnel that finally made a believer out of me. And returning is never a day at the beach either. Congrats…you whooped me.
I seriously don’t know how people put up with it.
They didn’t whoop you, they’re whooping themselves. There is no where to go or see in the woke infested declining west or anywhere else in the third world sh*tholes of the planet.
Save your tax dollars, explore & enjoy your own backyard – want to see anywhere else watch it on YouTube in 4K, you can see the world from the comfort of your paid for home with savings.
Save your tax dollars, explore & enjoy your own backyard …
Precisely Paul. And why I’m looking at camper/trailers.
Are all the baggage handlers unionised?
Does the federal gov’t control all aspects of air travel to, from, and in Canada including airport contracts and employee standards because it’s all federally regulated? (for your safety!)
Start there.
Remember in the 70’s when the postal union would threaten to go on strike every November?
It’s what they do. Shove a stick into the spokes of the economy every chance you can, beg for a better contract with less work, more money, and call it “respect”.
Whatever, you clowns.
Remember in the 70’s when the postal union would threaten to go on strike every November?
Good ol’ Jean-Claude Parrot. I always used to get him mixed up with Jean Chretien back in the day. Same type of thug, different shake-down crew.
BTW, government devaluation of its currency, (so-called “inflation”), empowers unions. As when Parrot took his government postal layabouts out on strike for a 71% wage rise. We’re going back to those days again thanks to Trudeau government debt monetization. Screw you tax payers and private sector productive savers.
I remember when Jean-Claude was against email. His solution?
You write an email, send it electronically to the post office. Canada Post prints it off, puts it in an envelope, applies a stamp, and then puts it in a mailbox for pick up.
haha….well I’m not surprised, but no I didn’t remember that. Your description of government union make-work and techno-phobia made me think of a throw-away joke in a scene from Spitting Image…(this was back in the 80s)…Gorbachev and wife Raisa were watching television and grumbling about some new disaster and Raisa pushes her TV remote control: a boxing glove at the end of a stick shoots out of the remote to bash the TV and change channels. So comical and primitive Jean-Claude Parrot approves!!!
Haven’t flown in a dozen years. Not much difference between flying or public transit in any of the cities. If I can’t drive there, I don’t need to go there.

L – Clearly, the federal employees, acting as baggage handlers,
exercised their option to work from home.
Have a thought for the airlines. Caught between shoddy performers like Boeing, and government regulators who
keep piling on the penalties to curry favor with their voters …
As for the passengers, whenever they have had a choice between cheaper fares and better services, they
have opted for cheaper fares.
So you get cattle car configurations, food you would never otherwise eat and …

I tell people I’m old enough to remember when flying was fun. All the efficiency of modern engines and wing destroyed by government inefficiency and rules
