I find he new HVAC equipment, (unmentioned in this article) to be of interest. Fiddling about during set up can easily overlook an event in the phasing sequence which may create a net positive pressure in a containment room designed to always be at negative pressure.

It would not surprise me to learn that lab animals scheduled for destruction were smuggled to the market by entrepreneurial forces found everywhere in the treads beneath commie boots.
The real investigation should begin with the inspection agency which flagged the US research labs for safety violations under the Obama administration. I suspect this was a rouse designed to get this particular research moved as we have seen testimony that other gain of function research continues at US universities to this day.

Not “stupid” but definitely careless! There were many good qualities about China in the past such as beautiful artwork, major inventions (paper, gunpowder, silk). Sadly, since the end of the 1940’s with the success of Mao Tse Tung’s communist party, the country has regressed (sp?). I have worked with Chinese professionals (mostly engineers working for various municipalities around the Greater Toronto Area). Common sense is severely lacking. As well, most Chinese are not very clean people – even the richest have dirty, messy, disorganized homes unless they have a cleaning service. I would think the same lack of cleanliness and lack of maintenance of important HVAC systems in research facilities would be a continuation of this.
These are just my personal observations.
