Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Stephan Guillible – not as smart as grass.
But he is; he is going, via dictatorial “mandate”, force us to stop behaving as we chose. That is called tyranny. Who voted for this “mandate”?
Does calling a petty bureaucratic regulation a mandate, make it noble and to be obeyed, or something? We now live in a Mandatory, not a Democracy.
But hey, if it requires imprisonment of the population to save the planet, surely that is a price worth paying … by the mandatees, not the mandators of course.
Who voted for this mandate? Sheeple bleating for free stuff and for someone to do their thinking for them.
I was having this electric car conversation with someone yesterday. This whole thing boils down to the cost to society (all of us, in other words) of discarding internal combustion engines and substituting electric, battery-powered engines instead.
Meaning, we retire all the drilling, refining, transporting and retailing infrastructure of gasoline/diesel, retire all the working vehicles and replace all that with electrical generation, transporting and charging infrastructure, and brand-new vehicles.
How much is that going to cost us as a civilization? The answer is going to be a lot more than $99 billion dollars.
Additionally, this is a -pure- cost because we will be replacing something that works just fine. The equivalent of buying a new spring coat because last-year’s is out of fashion.
Can we afford that?
As it s not possible (laws of physics) then we cannot afford it.
The commie’s money is always earned by others.
SG is a Green Commie.
So not only is he a thief, but a destroyer.
Gunless Canadians will welcome their cold dark future with a stupid, smug smile.
That’s why he is a Watermelon – green on the outside, ed inside.
Haha, a convicted criminal is going to force us to switch to environmentally evil, impractical and expensive EVs. We really do deserve every horrible thing they do to us.
Alberta and Saskatchewan have had 40 years of notice that Ottawa tyranny was growing and we voted to participate in and support it. Over and over again.
PS: if you think this is only going to cost 99 billion I got a bridge in Stettler to sell you.
Wait. I kinda like that bridge in Stettler…
Wait! There’s a bridge in Stetler? Maybe a good investment, don’t tell everyone.
If the Gov’t of Canada is expecting copper to be as it’s currently priced, they’re on acid.
I doubt there’s enough copper to build out the infrastructure for the electrical transmission, not that there “not being enough CU” (or lithium for batteries) is going to faze the imbeciles in Ottawa.
They’ll simply mandate something else.
They mandate because they believe that they are in their position by divine right, and everything that they proclaim will be done.
“So let it be written, so let it be done.”
Just like Yul Brynner as Pharaoh, they speak (often without thinking) and we are required to obey.
I love the thought of even more child slave labor in Africa to bring us rare earth minerals for our new Buzz Light Year battery driven life.
Well THEY do have another plan.
Bring a big asteroid into Earth orbit and mine it for its metals.
I am sure that will go well, ask the dinosaurs.
My cousin had a Tesla. She was happy with it in the summer but winter not so much. She said she was lucky to get two hours driving time out of it in cold weather and the power for heat was all used to keep the batteries warm leaving the cab freezing cold.
I doubt her name is Hannah.
ITTG (it’s time to go) UDI (Unilateral Declaration of Independence)
Damned Straight..!!
Shoulda happened in ’81 ffs.
The festering filth known as Trudeau has and continues to destroy this country.
I work in oil n gas….make it happen Danielle. Sovereignty – Separation…in my remaining lifetime. As for mandated EV’s…? Show me one that can on the equivalent of 300 litres of diesel, pull a 10k RV over the Rockies…and back without charging…….
….I’ll wait.
Gibault can ram his “Man” date up his piehole. I’ll be driving my Dmax for many moons to come.
Danielle needs to shut up about anything to do with “Separation.”
Danielle has to defeat Rachel and the NDP horde in a few months.
Separation talk just turns off the centrist voters in Calgary that Danielle needs.
If she doesn’t, Albertans will have much more important things to worry about than electric vehicles.
I guess the oh so compassionate Libs and Dippers are just going to pretend slave labor for cobalt mining is not happening

Political correctness, tolerance, social justice, used as a hammer under the guise of nice by our more “enlightened” social engineers, over what the last 15 or 20 years bit by bit, definition by definition.
Has lead us to these last two and a half years, and all that comes after it .
Voting seems to now be pointless.
Friends, right as they are , cannot dither on what they know is coming, because they have families to raise. They know but they hate the feeling in their gut, the undue malevolence by those that deserve no respect, as it seems more by the day by design.
As sad as it can be, that is what’s happening.
And the hardest part if, it isn’t yet for the individual (that doesn’t believe in participation badges) is going to be actually being an individual with their own mind and free to speak it.
The “enlightened” know this they have all along and they aren’t done with the outsiders yet.
Not by a long shot.
“Voting seems to now be pointless.”
This is how we got into this mess in the first place. This is how the Left have won almost all the school board elections. This is how the Left has shaped the minds of the last generation or two of school children. This is how Rachel Notley’s left-wing party gets elected in Alberta. This is how the Republicans lose an entirely winnable mid-term election cycle.
Voting is entirely the point.
$99 billion is the static analysis cost, which doesn’t include any changes that might be required to make this happen, and like most government programs, it is grossly under costed
The prospect of Canadians dying stranded in their dead EVs in winter seems no discouragement to our intellectual superiors. Expensive Coffins.
Some more queerbek weirdness from enemies of Khanaduh!.. Who voted for this Whacky Marmot?
We’ll all be driving Earth raping slave cars before too long.
Has Steven Guilbeault paid the 5 figure sum he owes in taxes? Five figures so it’s at least $10,000.
https://www.westernstandard.news/news/minister-guilbeault-in-arrears-owes-the-quebec-taxman/article_2e867f18-2dd0-582e-b9d7-aa1f8937e3c1.html
Steven’s salary as a minister pays him $275,000 a year. Plus the government provides him with a car and driver.
Justin Trudeau’s team: unethical, give lucrative government contacts to friends, and don’t pay taxes. All the while supported by the NDP.
The goal is to turn all Canadians into urban bound, public transport riding slaves without private rights or chattel. You will take whatever the government provides and be thankful and should you dissent, or complain, you will be killed through imprisonment in a gulag or deprivation as your available resources are dwindled to nothing. In short, the promise of the current regime is serfdom – you will own nothing and you will be happy or dead (the part that they don’t say out loud). There will never be enough infrastructure for all Canadians to have an electric car, there will never be enough electric transport to supply you with the food, procreating will be discouraged as there will never be enough resources for your children. The elite will have everything, you will have nothing or limited something as long as you comply.
Once you recognize the true agenda, it all starts to make sense. They are out to kill 95% of you and they don’t want you to understand the goal.
Codex, “Once you recognize the true agenda, it all starts to make sense. They are out to kill 95% of you and they don’t want you to understand the goal.”
Yup! Once you do recognize the WEF agenda, you see their influence as a pervasive disease!
Command Economy.
Working same as it always did.
Best part of todays “Commanders” is they have no grasp upon reality to limit their Delusions of Adequacy.
If Canada was a ship.
It would be a total wreck, with the sea lice fighting over the last scraps of victims flesh.
Steven is going to wave its hand and the Obama Complex will repeat in Can Ahh Duh.
I Napoleon..
The market in replacement parts for older vehicles is going to be insane. Go long on GPC.
Good luck getting them from China.
Already have problems now.
Buy a Bridgeport mill.
Been looking. In the prairies, they’re as scarce as hen’s teeth & twice as expensive. They go often and at decent prices in Ontario, but that’s a bit of a drive, both for a viewing & to trailer it back, especially in my EV…
Former communist countries use machinists to fabricate replacement parts for defunct communist brands.
What’s a machinist?
Don’t worry!
Engine parts, supplies, hardware, furniture, clothing, food, drink.
They all magically come from behind those doors at the back of The Store!
And they’re all delivered straight to your home by some Uber driver!
None of this requires much energy or natural resources at all, other than store clerks and delivery drivers lifting a few boxes every now and then.
So you’re saying that if DB searches long enough, he’ll find the app for a Bridgeport Mill delivery service.
There is zero evidence that switching to EVs will reduce CO2 anyway. I believe Bjorn Lomborg calculated you would need to drive at least 50,000 km to break even with the extra CO2 required to build an EV. EVen that did not include things like extra mineral mining and processing. How many batteries will even get to 50,000km?

Ken Block was always my personal antidote to climate alarmism, and the absurd belief that we should all be driving sewing machines. Sadly, he died in a snowmobile accident in Utah yesterday.

RIP Ken.
What a kick in the gut.
No kidding. He seemed immortal in the gymkhana videos.
Immortal – that says it exactly! Thank you, Anton.
Utterly fearless and talented beyond belief. We should all be as testosterone-poisoned as he was.
If the Libs stay in power, I think they should give the whole electrical system upgrade project to the gang that is in charge of military procurement. The downside is the cost would more than double. The upside is that the project would never happen. Joe Biden and I are the same age as the Browning 9mm pistol they are currently close to replacing.
If there’s a Lowpower out there, they will find it. Maybe a shortened version of the .380, which would make it a 9mm short short. LOL.
Only in Canada can a convicted criminal get ahead.

In Canada only a convicted criminal can get ahead.
Crime the only career choice that still holds a positive future.
Welcome to the Kleptocracy.
Dr Who, John Robertson,
precisely.
Very few will have cars. A loss of freedom underpins every one of their decisions for us. Every. One.
Now I’m across the border, but you guys are leading the way. Why an electric car makes sense in the frozen tundra… don’t get it.
And, don’t park EVs in an attached garage.

Happy Holidays!
covid vaxx will cure the precious metal problem, dead men don’t drive!
Opps, dead men need to drive to the voting station!
Maybe mass battery fires and stranded, frozen EV drivers will reduce the Left-wing voting population.
Perhaps a class action suit against Trudy and Singh for supporting cobalt mines which allegedly use child slave labor from across Africa. He can go shove a fork up his nose.
