    3. The decks are indeed awash but CBC informs me that Canada desperately needs workers and that corporate CEO’s have already made more money in the first days of January than Canadian workers will make all year. I guess that sets the official narrative that we must believe.

      I will add that I am an actual immigrant and have watched with great interest at how things have changed in the last few years. I now see an astonishing number of new arrivals who must have been selected purely for diversity reasons and don’t speak English. Not only that but they qualify for all manner of government handouts and they get them. Meanwhile we have a bunch of eastern Europeans who have recently landed. Most of them speak some English or excellent English. Even more noteworthy regarding the eastern Europeans is that all of them work – even the teenage kids work.

      Also noteworthy is the fact that initial government policy was that the eastern Europeans from Ukraine could only stay until the war ended – say what!? Of course I see that now the Ukrainians are going to be allowed to stay. Not so lucky are those from other areas as their diversity quotient is very poor and they spend more on lawyers fees than is fair just to get a faint chance of being allowed to stay. I’ve seen tears fall over good folks running afoul of immigration Canada. One of my friends was going to be deported to England even though he’d never lived there.

      As for our special extra diverse new residents I can report that after they have spent whatever the minimum or allotted time is in small town Canada they are moved to a larger centre where I assume the Folkfest pavilions and other accoutrements are more to their liking. We live in an upside down world.

        My interactions with the eastern Euro group is that they have diverse backgrounds, including university, and yet they are extremely happy to be here. I’d say they are the most grateful folks I’ve met in years. So far, they have lots of skills in driving trucks and operating heavy equipment, working hard labour, and working in veterinary care as many are from farming areas, but they are happy doing whatever odd job is available. Despite the common perception of corrupt lazy Eastern Europeans these are salt of the earth folks. I was extremely disappointed to find that they initially would be given the boot but I guess our beloved finance minister, of Ukrainian heritage, has interceded for the Ukrainians amongst them. Unlike some ungrateful new arrivals who seethe with rage against us hideous Canadians these are the people you want as immigrants.

  2. The southern US border is even worse. As for who they will vote for eventually, it may come back to bite Democrats on the butt. The majority of Hispanics are not all in on being non binary.

    1. Good question, but we all know the answer. Poilievre’s silence on this matter pretty much confirms that he’s cool with 500,000 immigrants/year, or maybe even more.

    2. One hopes that circa 2023 conservative values are best represented by Pierre Poillevre being cognizant of Max Bernier and 18 wheelers.

      Canada is the world’s 2nd largest country, with equivalent population to Greater Tokyo, or worse, California.

      Immigrants are great for post-Pill generations, as diversity yields strength if left to itself.
      Grifters hold too much sway over the gift of new blood in a blossoming Canadian society.

      For older folks, diversity sucks when it interferes with blissful retirement.

    Canada First was a political slogan of historic origin that I heard when I first came here; I thought it pretty inocuous and was surprised to find it contraversial.
