Y2Kyoto: Net Zeroed

Bloomberg: Vanguard Quits Net-Zero Group, Marking Biggest Defection Yet

Vanguard Group Inc. is walking out of the world’s largest climate-finance alliance, marking the coalition’s biggest defection to date as US Republicans step up their threats against firms deemed hostile toward the fossil-fuel industry.

Vanguard’s decision followed a “considerable period of review,” according to a company statement Wednesday. Withdrawing from the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, which is a sub-unit of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero, “will help provide the clarity our investors desire” about everything from the role of index funds, to financial risks in the context of climate change, the firm said.

Creepy Mark Carney, chief architect of GFANZ “said earlier this year the alliance has enjoyed considerable growth…”

Related, via Steve MilloyBritain approves first new coal mine — to operate for 50 years. “The mine seeks to be net zero in its operations.”🙄 So 50 years of lying coming up.

  1. also today, the secretary general of the Useless Nations declared that “Humanity is a weapon of mass extinction”

The world could do with a lot less useless bureaucrats that have too much time on their hands

  2. Its not a game.. Zero carbon nutcases need to be put in their place that at best this future is hundreds of years away.. Pretending its not is economic and social suicide.. They may be ready but nothing else is..

    1. Au contraire … Net Zero can be achieved almost immediately. Shut down ALL fossil fuels … immediately … at all stages of development. Defund all carbon based fuels – immediately. Utilize ONLY solar and wind. And live with the energy created by these sources. If there isn’t enough, and you freeze and swelter … too bad. That’s the price you OWE Gaia! If all commerce grinds to a halt? Then everyone will get a small stipend from the government (a larger check, if you were an early disciple of Al Gore). Yes, we will all subsist on UBI … and like it.

That’s the Net Zero dream … and the cabal of interlocking Socialist corporate directorates will MAKE it happen. Nope. You didn’t vote for them. So much for Democracy, eh?

    2. As long as there are living mammals on the planet and volcanoes still erupt there will never be anything such as net zero. Fake equations regarding CO2 are just more BS and bafflegab. CO2 is not now nor ever has been a climate driver. The climate driver is visible most days, look up, look way up.
These days it is a waste of time talking about science as it no longer seems to exist.

  3. As a retail customer in Canada, where can one buy, say, 1/2 ton of coal at competitive market prices?
This corrupt sh*thole only sells it by the bagful, 10 kilos or so, at an insane markup. Just another case of the legislative corruption that is the hallmark of the west.

      1. I bought a half ton of oiled coal in Dodds coal mine near Ryley, AB about 25 $ and the same in carbon tax. their biggest buyers are the Hutts out of sask . who use it to fire their grain dryers . the bring in 3 B trains at a time and haul it home

      1. I would say that in some areas that is true. Of course like anything made today coal oil and gas is needed.

      2. Back in the day, was told that enterprising Europeans would use some sort of contraption to turn coal into fuel which their cars could run on. This was a long time ago, so details are fuzzy, but this happened.

  4. Both Vanguard and Blackrock have been taking it on the chin lately. Good to see.
Actually Blackrock is getting the lion’s share of state divestment abuse so I’m sure the eggheads at Vanguard aren’t liking what they see.

    1. We are Vanguard customers. It used to be the sane choice compared to the likes of Wells Fargo. I just received a customer survey today and the first question was how likely I would recommend Vanguard to friends or family on scale of 0-10. Family drag queen promoter got a zero from me. I will say they did allow to free text additional comments. So if any of you are Vanguard customers don’t delete.Let ’em know what you really think!

    1. A very pertinent excerpt from Lindzen’s lengthy paper:

“CO₂ is a particularly ridiculous choice for a ‘pollutant.’ Its primary role is as a fertiliser for plant life. Currently, almost all plants
are starved of CO₂. Moreover, if we were to remove a bit more
than 60% of current CO₂, the consequences would be dire: namely death by starvation for all animal life. It would not likely lead
to a particularly cold world since such a reduction would only
amount to a couple of percent change in the radiative budget.”

    1. Of course it took action by individual states to reverse the course of this criminal cabal; Biden’s Justice Department is too busy chasing housewives out of school board meetings to act against this clearly illegal collaboration.

  5. I can just picture the board meeting:
CEO: “We’re losing billions! What can we do?”
CFO: “Have you tried not being a total effing retard?”
