Races across the country are much closer than expected. Many have yet to be called. Chances are that the House will flip to Republicans, and Senate control will depend on the outcome of Adam Laxalt’s race in Nevada and a probable December runoff between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker in Georgia. It may be a month before we know for sure, but Joe Biden can still become the fifth straight president to lose Congress in a midterm election.

The house is up in the air. Even though the Republicans have only flipped 3 seats – they need 5 – this isn’t a fair comparison because many of the districts are redrawn.
Two hundred and eighteen seats are needed for the majority in the House.
As of this writing, the Republicans have one hundred and ninety, needing only twenty-eight seats to secure a majority.
The Democrats have one hundred and sixty-seven, needing fifty-one seats.
Unless there are secret ballots found in a darkened office at three AM, it’s a done deal for the Republicans.

Wait for it…
That’s not how it works. The majority of the remaining seats are Democrat leaning. The west coast comes in last. It is high population plus Democrat leaning. This always happens with the house. I’ve seen it fluctuate between +2 and +4 but they need +5.

They have to NET 5 seats. The Dems have flipped some too.
But like I said it’s not an exact science because the congressional district lines change.
Combining won seats and leading seats the Republicans are up 219 to 216 currently. However many of those seats are much too early to call.

Why? The election two years ago has shown that no matter how close or wide the margin the democrats win. They have stolen the presidency and at least two senate seats. And what has changed since then? The machine is more entrenched than ever. I will not be surprised one bit, if after all the mail in ballots are “counted” dhimicrats will hold the house.
In short US federal election is a process when two parties are trying to get the votes. The dhumicrats count the votes and the dhimicrats win. The end.

I don’t know what’s more pathetic, this outcome, or somebody coming here to take pleasure in it.
A large part of the problem is, nobody really knows how much of this is real and how much is the result of subterfuge.
If it’s all real, then it’s disturbing that a (near?) majority would stick with an obviously failed experiment in social engineering.
If it’s fake, then American voters have no peaceful way out.
This should have been a landslide, and it seems more like a rock tumbling off a cliff and landing beside the road.
It is puzzling and troubling to be sure (whereas any election is here is simply an exercise in despair).
We can only go on what we know right now.

Yeah… some red tsunami. Wornock and Fetterman are widening their leads. It looks like Georgia found some more ballots hiding under a table, or maybe another pipe burst.
As for Pennsylvania C’mon! FETTERMAN??? What are you guys smoking?
Kelly is still leading in Arizona, but it does look like Lake has her win, but unfortunately, so does Hochul in NY.
Still don’t know why they haven’t called Pennsylvania yet with 99% of the votes reported, and Fetterman with a 40,000 vote lead.
And Warnock widened his lead to 30,000 votes in Georgia, also with 99% of the votes reported. Those two critical swing states are going to stay blue in the senate.
Watching Nevada and Arizona senate races. Both blue, but it’s still early. In Wisconsin, Johnson is closing in on Barnes, but still losing. Johnson is the incumbent, so a loss there, and if the dems hold on to Nevada and Arizona, that’s a solid majority for the dems in the senate.
Yeah… Some red tsunami! As I keep said so many times in the past, Stop counting your chickens too early. The fix was in from the get-go.

Currently in the house the Dems have 216 won and leading. The Republicans have 219 won and leading. However a closer look at a few districts has me thinking these leads will vanish. Some of them have a very low return rate and are more Democrat leaning.

Despite the punishing inflation … nobody has lost their jobs yet. So far, this is NOT a recession of unemployment. Add to that the gigantic number of government employees the rolls of which are swelling … no fire, no layoff jobs … and the swelling of welfare rolls and payments … and the American people have only been “inconvenienced” by historic inflation.
But make no mistake … the PAIN is coming. Boy oh howdy … it’s coming. Facebook/Meta waited (strategically) till after the election to fire thousands of employees. Their pink slips are coming this week. And the culling of employees will accelerate into next year as The Fed keep Pumping the economic brakes. 2023 is gonna be ugly … really ugly. I suspect the numbers of folks who voted blue are gonna be feeling DEEP BLUE by the time 2024 rolls around and Trump’s second term begins.
