    Mr. Hanson is a fine writer, as shown in this essay. But the above should be edited to read:

    “Gen. Mark Milley was characteristically silent about the use of military props…”.

    After all, the Biden administration, like the Obama administration, is profoundly corrupt.

    1. I disagree, David. He’s best known (to some of us) for his lashing out at Pres. Trump’s “improper” use of the military. As such, I would expect him to complain about the Democrats doing the same (if he were not, as you pointed out, so deeply corrupted).

  3. Christ this guy is a mendacious idiot. No, sanctuary cities are not ‘nullification’ and even if they were, letting brown people live in your city is not comparable to Jim Crow. Further, this is the guy who embraced an idiot for president who made 1950s trade policy re-implementation a priority. He should really stop talking from his position.

    Growing up in a communist run country to the age of 23, being brainwashed on the paradise and pleasure of socialism and communism, in school for 12 years.

    All the while very few of the ideologues, the teachers and assorted other apparatchik themselves never believed what they wanted others to believe. They basically looked after themselves and their socialist, communist paychecks.

    And us juniors, after 12 years in school, being told of the glories of communist future, very few if any believed what they were told.

    Happened to live just 50 km from Vienna, in a city right on the border with Austria, we knew more of how the world turns then those that did not have access to the broadcast, television from the “west”.

    In the scheme of things, the population lived a public lie, they knew that what they were told every bloody day was a lie. The rulers knew it was a lie, they just could not admit it.

    Heh …. You can say it was a tolerated, not tolerant society, virtual reality.

    That is socialism.
    Period.

    It is incomprehensible to those that lived it, how free people desire to live like that.
    It truly boggles the mind.

    There is one thing that VDH said that one can disagree:
    “We in America are regressing—now returning to the distant Neanderthal past ….”

    Neanderthals were likely much better than that.

      1. Years ago the lady lifted some paragraphs from works of others and included them in her book or articles, without attributions.
        She went into hiding and was not heard from for many years.
