  4. The Russians are at war. It’s would be dumb to expect them to supply fuel to those arming the Ukrainians.

    I blame Trudeau for refusing to supply European with clean and sustainably producted Canadian fuel. If it was coming from Quebec rather then Alberta and Saskatchewan he would have already approved pipelines and Liquified natural gas plants at the country ports.

    1. Didn’t a Quebec project get canceled? Shale production I believe. All those smug Euro philes, including my older brother, may be eating a lot of Cold crow. For the sake of my grandchild I hope it snaps a lot of people out of the green delusion. But I don’t think it will happen, regardless of the pile of bodies in the EU.

      1. I knew someone testing gas wells in Quebec before they stopped them. They had to translate every piece of paper into French and hire someone who spoke that dead language so they could run their company in French with a dozen unilingual Albertans. That’s history now.

      Except for the fact that the West is financing Putin’s war. Biden’s aggressive attack on the domestic oil and gas industry dramatically increased Russia’s income (by tens of billions of dollars in revenue increases) every month for two years. Crippling the oil and gas industry in the US also opened up new markets for Russian oil and gas. Biden and his staff of incompetents made war in Ukraine, not just possible, but also affordable.

        The true measure of a government is when they celebrate their plans to do something that everyone knows is doomed to fail. Kind of like making electric cars mandatory when you already can’t keep the darn lights on.

      2. I’ve been stuck thinking about this as well. Trump, here again, ripped a veil from my eyes. Being a business man and America as his portfolio he played all leverage angles in negotiations.

        The current crop of _Western_ Leaders I think believe that their countries were the immoral recipients of their position and should not use all leverage in negotiations. Even further simplified every feature of negotiation is transactional and unrelated– particularly since we are ultimately serving one world government.

        I recall some early Trump negotiations where there were complaints about using energy policy in state craft. Thus all the futile warnings Trump gave the Germans about not relying upon Russia for gas supply.

  5. In a way this is good news in that Europe and Germany in particular will have to face the truth of the consequences of their embrace of green mania. Russia is actually doing them a favour in breaking the bad news to them. The sooner they face their predicament, the less damage will be done. Can’t be any worse than the aftermath of WW2.

    1. I just bought a few tins of Belgium cookies that were probably made 6 months to a year ago over there.
      Knowing full well that there won’t be anymore coming until they get their act together.
      Hard to run a bakery with NG or electricity in short supply at outrageous prices never mind what the input costs for the coming Harvest are figuring for the retail prices of future products.
      My one guilty pleasure and it was on sale.

    Just think where the world would be now if good faith negotiations where under way now, instead of Russian roulette.

  15. What did they think that Russia was going to do once they had the fuel monopoly? Getting control of the Ukrainian reserves was what the “invasion” was all about. President Trump even warned them what was coming. The war in the Ukraine makes it clear that Moscow can’t make a damn thing. Russia was planning on being a parasite, living off the creativity and energy of Europe.

    Russia can’t even use the bulk of their military since China has old claims on Siberia. When Moscow runs out of cash, they are in deep kimchee.
