It’s Curious Why the Obvious Question is Not Asked

It took two “multi-skilled journalists” to write this piece about nursing shortages in Ontario. It’s not clear what “skills” these fellows have but curiosity and seeking the truth are clearly not in their skillset. Read through the article and see if you can come up with one particularly critical question that they refused to ask.

  1. These are not award winning journos. I cannot see it mentioned in their bio. Both look pretty edgy, tough. That comes from reporting on weather. Weather is tough. Nate has pierced ears, but seems to have taken out his big loop earrings for the promo shot. I wonder what he really looks like all done up.

  2. Another month, another health crisis.

Just change the date and you’re good to go, MSM is basically copypasta these days, when they’re not just re-typing press releases from lobbyists (and all health groups are nothing buy lobbyists):

    1. Nothing new.
It has always been this way.
      Yawn.
More admin will be hired to discuss and push a new plan.

    2. What do they do with people who came in to emerg at 8:00 and are still waiting to be seen at 6:00?

  3. Judas on a Vespa delivering stale left-out-in-the-sun gas station sushi bento boxes for Skip The Dishes – “Multi-Skilled Journalist” is actually in their bylines.

“Multi-Skilled Journalist” probably just means that they have BOTH Twitter and Instagram accounts. Senior Bureau Team Lead Multi-Skilled Journalists have those PLUS a TikTok account.

    1. Being a “Multi-Skilled Journalist” at CTV means you know how to Copy & Paste” on both a Mac & PC. You also must adhere to the CTV News credo of “We will commit no Acts of Journalism today”.

  4. I didn’t read it, so I’m going to posit that the question they didn’t ask concerns the shortage of medical people created by !vaxx mandate refusal and post-vaxx illnesses. Am I right?

    1. Bingo.

” …while other nurses will be returning from their leaves of absences.”

If you look up “leaves of absences” in The New Canadian Journalist’s Dictionary you’ll find this definition: forced employment terminations that you mustn’t question or talk about.

  5. Robert, the article reads like the person being interviewed kept repeating “the employees who refused the jab are a major factor”. I can see him\her pounding their fist on the table, repeating that to the clueless interviewer.

After editing, that part somehow got “sanitized”.

  6. You know you can trust CTV, because they don’t allow nasty commenting on the most important articles!

    1. The best part of the MSM stories in Canada is the little ‘Why you can trust BS News’ link at the bottom.

  7. Essential Qualifications
    • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
    • Must be willing to take any other course relevant to the area of practice
    • Current certificate in BCLS (HCP)
    • Excellent attendance record
    • Proof of double COVID vaccination required prior to interview
    ^^^^^THIS^^^^^

  8. The mainstream (and most of alternative) media is controlled. This isn’t an oversight – it’s part of the plan.

The MSM is the propaganda fed to the populace to direct their thinking. Misdirection is vital to ensure the majority have their opinions “shaped” in such a way that they think they came to the desired conclusions on their own. When free thinkers come to different conclusions, the brainwashed will defend the “establishment” view without any further prodding. If enough people question the narrative, new articles will “debunk” and “fact-check” their positions, cementing the lies in the minds of the programmed.

In the west, we can clearly see Pravda being communist propaganda, but are mostly unable to see that ALL of our media is as well. We are simply fed the illusion of choice by having so many propaganda outlets to choose from.

    1. There is no actual choice we are being fed pablum from the same spoons that are provided by the bought and paid for liberal government of Justin Castreau

  9. So they need more money and administrators, eh ? Never worked before but this time maybe this time it will. Education and Health care are the two biggest expenditures of the province and neither gets the recognition due, according to those involved in those endeavours. Well let’s just pay for what we want and see if that works.

    1. In my best Bullwinkle voice “This time for sure”

And of course there is that definition of insanity.

  10. “… the shortage of medical people created by !vaxx mandate refusal and post-vaxx illnesses…”

Given the preposterous political overuse of the measure that’s supposed to make our Medicare “actually affordable”, I betcha’ the question they REALLY were supposed to ask was, “Is MAID being routinely offered to all hospital patients in Canada, regardless of their condition when hospitalised – and if not, WHY not?”

  11. Drilling down to find the story behind the story is pretty difficult. Even the Ontario Nurses Association doesn’t want to talk about what needs to be said preferring instead to cite PTSD and worker burnout as the primary causes of the current nursing shortage, that and the reddest of all herrings… “low pay”.
They’re particularly pissy about Bill 124 which limits their bargaining ability with respect to salaries. Nurses want parity with police and firefighters and are questioning why male dominated professions are paid more than the female dominated nursing. Please, just stop it.
    1st class Brownshirt – $116,000/yr
    RN – $95,000 and change.
Shorter version. The oft repeated “best healthcare system in the world” is and always has been a shit filled taco. An excuse for stupid, smug, self entitled Canadians to point their fingers to the South.

    1. 1 nurse I know got $170000 plus 2021 sunshine list. No doubting what you are saying, just adding that..and she does not work particularly crazy hours

    2. Its like political Tourette’s for the left: mention “private healthcare” and they’ll spurt something about “American values”, etc.

Of course, the non-left know that the Canada’s healthcare system is nowhere near the best, and ranks behind almost every European nation…all of which allow private healthcare that is illegal here.

Math and logic is not their strong suit, but they never seem to put this together.

  12. My compooter must be broken again!
When I CTRL/F ‘mandates’ it doesn’t find that word.
    Same with the word ‘vaccine’.

You’ve got to be hurting pretty bad if you have to add the term ‘multi-skilled’ to your bio!
Personally I go with ‘henchman 2nd class’ in mine.
    Or ‘dark minion’.

  13. Local ctv2 station credits mentions multi skilled or talented members..I think it means they have replaced the camera man and reporter with 1 person. But I notice few reporters chew gum during their jobs

  14. With all the CTV ads for tranny shows and drag queen shows, are they now the Canadian Tranny Vision network?

  15. My town, taking advantage of a government “grant,” is building a “wellness centre,” not a medical clinic mind you, but a facility that will require staffing by qualified medical personnel. It is hoped that this new, spiffy, indigenous architect designed “wellness centre” will be enough to attract them. As if.
