   1. Apparently, the Armenian genocide was an inspiration to Hitler. If no one cared about a million or so Christians, who would care for a few million Jews?

4. Armenians have been squawking for years about their plight…no one cared then and no one cares now, so yeah… “no one cares”.
   I know Kurlianchik is attempting to make a point for his side by preening his moral feathers but I’ll tell him this: The 20th century was a lot harder on Christians then anyone else and the 21st isn’t looking like a day at the beach either.
   I also know Turkey has been in Israel’s crosshairs for some time now and the reason why has nothing at all to do with the Greek Orthodox population.

   1. I know some guys who went to Cypress with the Canadian Forces. The hatred between the Turks and the Greeks there was completely nuts. It impressed them.

      1. Had an uncle who was sent there twice back in the late 60’s/early 70’s. For entertainment they used to throw Molotov cocktails into the trash at the dump. The Turks used to shake their fists & swear at them for wrecking all the good garbage.

         When the CF threatened to send him there a 3rd time, he quit, despite being 18 years into his 20 year stretch.

6. I wonder if AI could be trusted to create a ranking of the most persecuted nationalities and or ethnic groups, currently and historically? Make a list of minimum 1 million deaths by genocide or such.

7. I have no desire to go to Turkey, even though it is supposed to be an enlightened Muslim country. When I read about women (and some men) who travel there for cosmetic surgery and then die from complications and their relatives are “all surprised”, all I can do is shake my head. As well, I would not go to Mexico for cosmetic or dental surgery, but maybe that is just me and my housekeeping standards.

   1. There is nothing enlightening about Turkey…people who vacation there or debark from cruise ships or to have surgery are rolling the dice.
      Wife’s friend vacationed there and broke her arm…what an absolute shit show.
      Everything I know about Turkey I learned watching “Midnight Express”.
      Hard pass.
