1. Redundancy is a wonderful thing. It always costs more than single redundancy, until that one single thing fails, then the redundant parts can be damn near priceless. Multiple power supplies, multiple pipelines, multiple sources.

   Bigger, single solutions and single sources are usually more efficient and more economical. Until they are not. Just ask Germany.

2. We’re going to learn a lot about that new word soon.
   None of it good.

3. I guess the wind stopped blowing in the heat, like normal.
   Sad.

4. Another chink in the armor. Soon nothing will work.

   Out here in the buck brush the power is out.
   First cool day we’ve had in a week. Had 2 days last week 38c = 100f.

   You better be able to adapt. Winter will be the test. I’ve got 9 cords split and dry piled. I’ll be as warm

   as I want. Probably have half my neighbors here if that happens. Har

   1. I don’t know where you are, but wood fires are banned where I live in BC.. MoreFkn wood than just about anywhere , but the stinkin greenies say no.

5. South African synthetic oil refinery also declaring force majeure after shutting down. Seems to be spreading all over the world.

   1. Or is the press just noticing and reporting these incidents after the Gazprom force majeure? As in they happen occasionally, but now the press actually reports them?

      Seeing JD’s news article below, should we be thankful the idiots did not attack the pipeline itself?

6. It’s much worse that it first appears, it wasn’t a loss of power as a result of energy loss, some nutter, likely an enviroterrorist, decided to attack and damage a transformer that supplied power to the line.

   Hopefully the damage wasn’t too severe and it can be quickly repaired
