I’m more than a little curious as to why these ongoing highway blockades have not been met with a declaration of a state of emergency, bank account seizures, or at least daily denunciations in the leftwing corporate media. I guess these protests qualify as revolutionary violence or some such. I expect none of those arrested will be denied bail.
In a statement, the group says 82 people have been arrested to date at protests in Victoria, Nanaimo, Vancouver and Revelstoke, and two members are on a hunger strike until they can have a public meeting with Forests Minister Katrine Conroy.
Potential charges in such instances could include mischief or blocking or obstructing a highway, said RCMP Cpl. Alex Bérubé of the Vancouver Island district.
They’re engaging in “social justice” and “civil disobedience” and are, thereby, exempt from any legal penalties.
Don’t try to release them. Divrt traffic around them and leave them there; let them die of cold and thirst.
There are two separate applications of the law at work in this country. Law breakers whose ideology opposes the leftist ruling party are savaged by police and judges who wouldn’t know justice if it bit them in the ass. Law breakers whose ideology supports leftist ruling parties can and do get away with all manner of crimes. This is not the mark of a democracy based on the rule of law. It is the mark of a corrupt, authoritarian society run for and by the oligarchy. And no, Canada is no better than Russia in that respect. It’s merely not quite as much of a police state just yet.

They are being arrested. In this case Trudeau hasn’t yet lost control and hasn’t needed to bring in the War Measures Act. At 82 arrests it is not yet to the extent of the Ottawa police state action but it may approach it before too long. What was there about 200 arrests for daring to call for a God given right to be free?
Mike – a few “arrests” and let out on bail is nothing. El Turdeau is doing nothing because he agrees with their cause and because they belong to his favourite class – parasites. El Turd only really hates those who actually work for a living and are productive – truckers, workers in the oil & gas industry, small business owners, etc, etc.
