  1. Two different viruses. It’s a cold. I think being nice about this ain’t going to work. Call all the liars out. Stop being ‘nice’ to your idiot neighbours who think the unvaccinated are the problem. Call them stupid and tell them to f*** off. Do it today and forever.

Perhaps, too, a degree of immune response in the population helps moderate the effects of the virus, even if not achieving full and permanent immunity. Some cross–immunity seems to exist today, whereby those who have had coronavirus colds do not catch, or do not suffer severely from, Covid-19.

Here is a disturbing thought: is lockdown preventing this evolutionary process, by confining the disease to settings where it can still thrive while being fatal, such as hospitals? Our fate is clear: without a vaccine or a cure, Covid-19 will fade, will be back, but will become less lethal till it is eventually indistinguishable from every other cold.

      1. The authorities have made the wrong decision at every opportunity. Usually a counter productive decision that made things worse. It’s difficult for me to believe that could all happen by accident with the best intentions.

  2. Omicron evades immunity we already know that. Now, the headlines will be “woman infected with covid twice in 20 days” giving you the impression you can get omicron twice. The facts are the following:
1 – the vaccine does nothing at best
2 – previous covid infection with anything but omicron does not make you immune
    3 – omicron is a cold
4 – omicron reinfection is rare but even if you get it again so what?

    1. The evidence is substantial that the vaccines greatly reduce your odds of severe symptoms. It helps keep you out of the hospital, and even more the ICU, and even more the morgue:

Note the last sentence in the conclusions:

“However, three-dose [vaccine effectiveness] of mRNA-1273 was high against hospitalization with Delta and Omicron variants.”

Also, Omicron is not a cold. It can kill you, particularly if you are old or obese or have existing medical conditions.

  3. “you can still be infected again even if fully vaccinated”….that should say….”you can still be infected again ESPECIALLY if fully vaccinated”.

  4. Face diaper update from Lethbridge: Shopping at south side Safeway this afternoon, left the store just before 5PM. More than one third of shoppers in masks. 40%-ish? All ages, but more in the 50+ range. Way up from last time I was there, say, two weeks ago.

    1. In Peterborough while out shopping 9 out 0f 10 are wearing the face diapers. The ones I like the best are the ones driving alone with the diaper on and the lone walker with the diaper on. The piece de resistance is the man and wife driving together with the diapers on. One can only assume they go to bed and enjoy sex together with the diapers on

  5. “The Spaniard did not develop any symptoms after her first positive PCR test, but less than three weeks later she developed a cough and fever which prompted her to take another test.”

Yeah, well that tells me that the first test was a false positive.
